At 2:00 and already mentioning reclining and sliding rear seat that the RDX does not have. Along with tri-zone climate control the EnvisioEnvision has the RDX does not.
After checking out several videos on it and the official website, this seems to me to basically be a sporty yet tall wagon with some intended "luxury" trim that almost seems a bit awkward when compared with the exterior design which doesn't impart quite the same feeling. Overall it seems to give the impression that GM wanted to sell that particular vehicle in the U.S. but wasn't sure where to slot it and didn't want to pull sales away from existing lower end models so they just slapped some "luxury" trim in a tall wagon and decided they would market it as a Buick since that's supposed to be their quasi-luxury brand. To be honest though, I do think it hits a sweet spot size wise, since as Lyn noted, the encore is definitely a squeezed vehicle, and the Enclave is just too big for many peoples needs such as my own. Even so.... because of the mismatched exterior/interior theme of the car, and the rather piece meal, generic approach they took with it, I do think it's going to be a hard sell. I will agree with everyone else here though... in no way, shape, or form is that a $48,000 car!!! Great way to kill a newly launched model GM lol. Yes I know... GM offers a lot of rebates and incentives, so it will sell for substantially less than $48,000.... so lets factor that in and take $10k off the price for rebates and incentives which would bring the price down to around $38,000...... NOPE... sorry but it's not even a $38,000 car LOL! I think this would have been better in the Chevy line-up, slotted in between the Trax and the Equinox, something that looks more car-like, but with AWD option, to compete against the likes of a Subaru Impreza. Pricing should start out at around $22,000 for a fwd base model that includes a lot of features for the entry level price, and then top out at around $34,000 for a top of the line fully loaded AWD version. People might actually take it seriously with that price range and configuration and it would definitely get a lot more exposure as a Chevy model than as a Buick. But $48K for a Chinese built Buick? Buick is efinitely gonna have to fool some little old lady in to falling for that!
The Envision came out in 2016 before the 2018 Equinox and Terrain redesign. In it's first full year of sales it sold 41,000 units. The discounting is very good on the Premium 2.0T with about $11,000-13,000 off MSRP. At $33K for a torque vectoring AWD and almost 300 lb-fr of torque not much can match it in the near-luxury and luxury segments.
