Ohhhh, my favorite today was the orange kitty cat 🐈🐈🐈 cone! Hi Ninja, love pats for you! 💗💗💗 It was a fabulous day for cones and cowries. The pink lace coral is so pretty! 🌸🌸🌸 Wonderful day at the beach Maddie! Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
G’day Pam 👋🏻💖 Haha, Ninja is a cutie 😉 and that Cat Cone should clean up nicely too; I’ll make a little Short video for that someday soon. The pink lace coral 🪸 has been a nice pop of colour to see at the beach 🏖️ Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Hurriyet 👋🏻🏖️ Hehe, the blue cowrie is amazing with that pink/purple coloured base 😲 it definitely deserves to be a favourite! That Cat Cone too is a nice one...I really must clean it this week and show everyone 😁 Ohh and you liked the little Music Cone too 🤩 I'm glad, they're small, but beautiful! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Good morning, Maddie It was nice to see the Spangler trumpets. The donkey was too cute, and the zebra volutes are lovely. I really liked the cone shells and the limpit. I think the juvenile shells are nice and sad to see. It is nice to see the young shells to the older ones. The first flat sand snail had a very lovely strip on it. The cowries are lovely. Thank you for another wonderful shelling adventure. It is always great to see your videos. I hope you are doing well. Have a lovely day, Maddie See you next shelling adventure.
G'day Toni 👋🏻🏖️ I'm glad that you liked the shells in this one 😁 I agree, it was lovely to see the Spengler's Trumpets and nice Zebra Volutes again after not seeing them empty for a while. The Cone shells took center stage this time, but indeed, the limpets are sometimes more lovely than expected... though I must admit, I am still very partial to the cowries overall! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 (I must apologise for taking so long to reply to you; I've been slow over the past week/end)
G'day Mary 👋🏻💖 Hehe, I'm glad you liked it!! And the cone shells as well, I must admit that it was nice to show some that I don't often find 😁 Awww you're too sweet Mary 🥰 I promise you though, I do have plenty of pudge around the midriff, but thank you for you kind words, and thanks for watching 💖
G'day Aussie Dirt Digger 👋🏻🪙💖 My favourite shells to find, I'm glad there were some fun and unusually cones to show 😲 and a few live cowries too! Thanks for watching 🥰
High Maddie 👋 Never deceiving your beach selections 🤩 what a beautiful jewels 😍 the immature donkey cowrie a couple of cat cowries and graceful cowries and the bunch of snakehead cowries just so attractive and enhanced by the yellow toothed cowrie 😍 the Conus catus once clean will show a beautiful pattern , the little C. musicus is a good keeper too . Always suggestive the living Monetaria moneta 🤩 and Conus muriculatus . That dirty cone at the end is possibly a Conus rattus ?? Please tell me what you find out after cleaning 😃 thank you Maddie 😍 I spend with your passioned workouts, moments of quality and this it as no price ❤❤❤❤❤ grazie Francesco 👋
G'day Francesco 👋🏻🏖️ It was a fun day in the rock pools; I was quite pleased with the selection of shells in this one 😲 Oh my goodness, you are so good with those names! I still need to clean that Conus catus; I should have done it last week, but I ended up taking a few lazy days away from shell-related endeavors. The live Monetaria moneta and Conus muiculatus were both found by a shelling friend who was out there; he moved the live cone to the sand for me to see and share this time, and also spotted the money cowrie... my friend has good eyes on him! Hmmm, I'm not sure about the dirty cone shells identity. I have found one or two Conus rattus here before (over a year ago now), but they were maybe 1/3 the size of this cone... I will need to check how large a Rattus can grow, but it's a solid possibility! In the end, I could not keep the dirty cone; it had a little hermit crab living in it, so I took him back to the beach after a day in my shell bucket... I don't think the crab could move the big shell, but who am I to judge its home?? I couldn't bring myself to destroy the crab or try to transfer it to another shell after it was possibly weakened from being in my bucket for more than a day!! Poor crab! The dirty cone will forever be a mystery. Thank you so much for watching 🥰 (I must apologise for taking so long to reply to you; I've been slow over the past week/end) Hope you are well, and take care~
G'day Susan 👋🏻💖 Yesss, I managed to find some cones this time 🤩 I know they're your favourite 😉 That Cat Cone will be nice with a clean...must do that this week!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Donna 👋🏻💖 The big cone shells were wonderful to see, though they can get much larger in other parts of the world (or here, but big cones rarely wash up intact). Ahhh, the camera work was a little off in one spot, but thank you for not minding 😂❤️ I hope you had a fantastic weekend, and the Mondayitis isn't kicking in too hard 😉 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Leslie 👋🏻🏖️😺 Of course! I may pat the friendly dogs at the beaches, but I'd 100% prefer to cuddle a kitty! Hello to Fluff, Max, and Lola 😻😺🐈 please give them some pats from me!! My girl's name is Ninja (because she's ginger): she's one of the less common orange ladies 🧡 and turns 16 next March. Not a cuddly kitty, but she's still my best friend. Ok, enough gushing, sorry Leslie 🤣 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie, 9:30 pm here. I fo not believe seeing a cat cone my favorite. Lots of cowries and a cat cowrie too. Love the juvenile Arabian cowrie too. You did well today. Take care. TRUDY❤
G'day Trudy 👋🏻💖 The last Cat Cone was quite a while ago, and that one was a bit worn away, so the shell didnt look much like what I found this time...but truly, it's nice a common shell to see at this beach 😲 and I'm thankful; it's one that can potentially have a fatal sting 🥲 but it's less known about than a lot of the other cone snails with deadly venom. I really should put a pair of tongs back in my bag!! I'm glad that you liked seeing all the shells, and yes, that juvenile Arabian was a lovely shiny one 🤩 Thank you so much for watching 🥰 please give Prince Bearsy a big pat for me ❤️
G'day Jan 👋🏻💖 The cone shells are just lovely this time 🤩 I need to clean/bleach that Cat Cone; I'll make a short video for it, I hope it will be an interesting transformation!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Brian 👋🏻🏖️ Those larger sized cones were lovely 🤩 I don't often come across either the cat cones or living cones 😲 Ohh those Donkeys have been lovely lately too 🦓 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie, enjoyed your video with my coffee this morning. You sure did good on the cones today, but as always I love the cowries especially the cat, yellow tooth. Keep up the great work.
G'day Jeff 👋🏻☕ I never actually ask, but what kind of coffee is it 😂? As for the shells, the cones were really in the spotlight this time 🤩 I found a few that I don't usually come across! Looking back, I think that shiny Cat Cowrie should have been a firmer favourite, it's a really nice one. Ohhh and the Yellow-toothed Cowrie is a fantastic favourite as well. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie, Jan from Austria here (still in Melbourne). You had a very successful day, such wonderful and varied cowries and cones. The bonnet and the trumpets were quite beautiful, as well as the zebra volutes. The lace coral was such a vivid color. Take care on those slippery rocks! Congrats on all your finds, hi to Ninja. Thanks so much for filming!
G'day Jan 👋🏻💖 It was nice to find a few varieties of cones that I don't usually see 😲 but yesss, it was a nice day with plenty of variety! I'll be careful on those slippery rocks...they're truly a menace! Ninja will get a pat from you 🐈 and oh, dang, I've suddenly forgotten your African Grey's name? I bet he/she misses you so much!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 and next up will be a Hervey Bay trip to the mangroves 😉 It feels like a good time for it!
G'day Jane 👋🏻🏖️ They can be elusive... especially on the week you visited the Sunshine Coast 😅 I hope you find one, though I think Queensland is probably the best place to look for them? Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Edith 👋🏻🐚 Ohh that Donkey Cowrie with the atypical pattern is such a cutie!! That bonnet was a lucky last minute find; it's nice to collect a big shell like that sometimes 😁 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Bonnie Julien 👋🏻🏖️ The cone shells really came out on top this time 😲 it's lovely to see some of the more unusual species!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Mikhail 👋🏻🏖️ It was crazy to see so many cones like this; the larger ones don't usually appear in the rock pools with such frequency!! The little Moneta was super cute...the first live one I've seen here 🤩 they are very uncommon at this beach. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Natalia 👋🏻🏖️💖 Hahaha 😂 ahhh, some moments are like that! That Livid Cone was really unusually with its knobbly tip- I don't remember seeing a cone with a knobbly tip before! It probably got worn down from being a pointed tip, but still, super cute and unusual!! That Cat Cone will be a fun one to see when I clean it up, I'm personally quite excited to see how it looks under that brown layer of periostracum 😲 Oh, and you liked the Zebra Volutes too, they are always a treat to find with their tips intact 🦓 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Di 👋🏻🏖️💖 The Zebra Volutes were lovely this time 🦓 behind the scenes, I came across quite a few of them on this trip, but only these three had their tips intact. Ahhh, I feel like I'm saying this more lately, but being selective is necessary after shelling for a while 😂 I'll selectively collect and show the nicest ones to everyone 😉 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
‘The Day of the Cones ‘ I love the music cone ❤. Also that live money cone was special , your camera is top notch Maddy and that of a professional You-tuber 😊, the detail on all the shells is fantastic 🏆🏆. That touch of pink lace coral was the icing on the cake as well , great job 🪸🪸🪸
Oh my goodness Annie 👋🏻🏖️💖 You have surprised me once again!! Is this really okay, my goodness, thank you so much for more support... I honestly have no idea what to say, this is simply too generous. I feel like I cannot say how absolutely touched I am - I'm just a girl picking up shell at the beach, I feel like I don't deserve anything close to this. Thank you so, so much. I'm thrilled you liked seeing the Day of the Cones (A better video title than my choice of "Big Cone Shells" 😂), there was an incredible variety of them this time, along with a few live shells and some other colourful goodies here and there. I know it's not much in return for your generous support, but let's see about a behind the scenes story for this one... no idea if you're interested in hearing about it, but thank you for reading (or skimming over it) anyway 😉 Mr Sheller was actually at the beach this day, though he didn't find any shells to keep for himself, poor fella, but he needs to be selective after more than 40 glorious years of collecting. It really was a slow day of shelling until right at the end, and he left after I filmed that live Money Cowrie. Actually, Mr S was the one who found the live Bruised Cone (he put it on the sand with his tongs and called me over so I could show the live creature) and he also spotted the Money Cowrie. I wish he was there to see the Cat Cone, I think it would have impressed him with the nice condition of it's apeture! It seems like he and the few other shellers that day were focused on looking through the rock pools on the turbulent side of the lighthouse, because the less windy side was clear and still had some treasures in my favourite places to check. As for the largest cone of the day... I was surprised to see that such a small hermit crab had taken it as a home. It was almost two days later and I wanted to bleach it for the video, and suddenly there is a tiny crab nearly in my hands?? I yelped quite loudly? It was so small, I don't think it could have moved the shell even in the water, the size and weight of its home was not appropriate for it, but who am I to judge? Crabs know what they want! I would have tried to transfer it to another shell, but I though that it might have been hungry and weak and cranky from a day and a half in my shell bucket, so instead I took him back to the beach a few hours later. Luckily, hermit crabs are pretty hardy creatures, so I'm hoping it's fine and perhaps found a better home by now. I still have to clean that Cat Cone; I hope it will be a fan transformation to show! As always Annie, thank you so much, and thanks for coming along on another shell finding adventure 🥰
