This and the pistachio dial are both absolutely beautiful. More than anything, I think they show that there's more to Breitling than the Navitimer and Super Ocean. If you do pull the trigger on this, enjoy!
That Breitling is a beautiful watch and you should go for it. Like you said.. "the emotion that it incites"...is one of the reasons why we collect watches! One of your best videos!
As a professional watchmaker here, I love your video and I know exactly where you are coming from. I like hidden gem. I will tell you what is my all time favourite is, it's Universal Genève Tri-compax. The most underrated watches all time. Still top ten brand swiss made. Heck, I find the parts incredible difficult to find. the watch was made in the 1930's, old school watchmakers are long gone, it's very very rare and sadly I have to force myself to make some parts Universal Genève watches.
I think it is a great value proposition from a well known brand-especially if you Can purchase at a discount from a secondary market seller. Good luck on the hunt.
Bruce, this is a fantastic timepiece, great look, moon phase, many complications, tastily done, … I understand how it would be a grail watch. I actually love it myself and would not mind adding one someday to my collection (currently adding Rolex and Breguet). Go for it!
That is a beautiful watch. I tried one on a couple of months ago at my AD. Pictures and video don’t do it justice. It’s absolutely stunning in person. The copper dial is gorgeous.
It is an amazing watch, and relatively speaking an amazing value. When you compare that to a JLC Master Control or my personal true grail the Patek 5270p you really realize how much watch for the money you are getting. I have not pulled the trigger on it yet with one of the main reasons being it looks so much like like 5270p it is kind of in homage territory, but I am probably 20 years from being in a position to own the Patek responsibility. That is a long time to wait when this is available from a Brand like Breitling.
The Breitling Premier releases last year were amazing (this one included)! I’m surprised they aren’t getting much attention. For example, the Duograph is a rattrapante for ~$10K - how is no one talking about what an amazing accomplishment that is?! To get into a rattrapante, you’d need to spend six figures…
Absoloutely! I own a Navitimer Rattrapante ($11K) and it's a spectacular piece... I think Breitling is an amazing brand and even more so under Kern. I hope it will attract more attention and love in foreseeable future.
people instead bash the duograph for being too thick, etc. lol and none of these morons mention about how ridiculous deep sea is. just goes to show how stupid society is
Then again... if you're a penny pincher like me... it's easily found for around $9k in the secondary market. And you know it's not going to decrease in value as word spreads.
Love it. Triple-dates helped get me into watches in the 90s, and I love the moon phase too. I do think you meant 40% off if you’re hoping to get it and the bracelet under 10 though…. Worth it for sure!
Reminds me of a salmon dialled doxa triple calender chronograph from the 1950s, which I sold last year. Obviously that was a smaller watch , but was lovely. I don't think it should be on a bracelet though, it's meant to be on the crocodile/ alligator strap. That bracelet is too flashy to really look right. But each to their own Bruce.
Agreed with this is piece I tried on yesterday when receiving my grail watch : explorer II polar dial. Quite big but ok for a 17cm wrist size. 4 years of calendar. Very nice one! May be redundant with my humble oris big crown complication (2004)
Why don't you use the youtube subtitle function? I really appreciate the effort for people with hearing problems, but i find it to be a little distracting from the watch.
talk about tasteless taste. I just picked up a P01 haha! such a fun watch. anyway, that breitling is a beautiful piece. but at the price point I'd go for an IWC perpetual calendar 3540, which is weirder, albeit much older.
Love this piece. It was going to be my 'breitling watch' but ended up getting a Navitimer because...well it's a Navitimer. Breitling is a brand that has really come a long way recently. I've always been a big fan of the brand even when they became abit tacky which they have corrected - Wish they would have kept the Wings though. There's the 'holy trinity' of watches but the "name brand Mount Rushmore" to most people I think would be Rolex/Cartier/Omega/Breitling.
Im with you Bruce! ... love it. Wish it were a bit thinner, but otherwise its a stunner. Why can my Navitimer not have this much water resistance!!! (probably the thickness).
Hi Bruce - love the look of this watch and thanks for reviewing. Seriously considering this purchase as well. For context what is your wrist size? I'm 7.25" and want to see if I'd have a comparable fit. Thx!
Bruce why not for the same price consider the JLC master control chrono that has day date month moonphase chrono automatic 40mm and low 12mm in thickness? It just came out on a bracelet too
I'm telling you all, he'll eventually cave and get the Defy Skyline. Trust me....until then, Breitling and Bruce are killing it. B&B, you all know what's up, birches lol
I think he already had the defy skyline. I believe it was that beautiful skeleton Zenith he featured on his channel. I think it was titled "do not buy a Zenith" or something to that effect lol (because of how beautiful and addicting it was).
@@BruceWilliams ah yes, that one! bravo. Such a great piece. Bruce, you HAVE to get this datora. It's absolutely gorgeous. Would honestly be my favorite piece in your collection. If I wasn't looking at buying property at the moment it would be on my short list.
I was really struck by this piece when it was released. Its truely stunning.I just wish 2 mm could be shaved off both the diameter and thickness.Back in the 1950s when the machining technology wasnt as good as today the Swiss watch industry was turning out relatively thin 36 mm chronographs and calendar watches.Whenever the CEOs start making excuses for why a watch is chunky they always say " well the movement is such and such thick" ,like they are incapable of making movements as thin as those made 70 years ago.I dont get it.
As much as I agree with you, there is a very simple explanation for modern chronograph movement thickness. The thin 36 mm chronos from the 50's to late 70's where all manual wind, modern are automatic...
@@marvinberwart Yes true. However Hamilton recently released a manual wind chronograph that was almost as thick as their automatic version.I think it was the intramatic.I know the non in house brands are constrained by the dimensions of the Valjoux 7750.
I have bought mine last night for 60% off the retail on the secondary market. Which was an absolute steal for me, this watch isn't very well received in the middle east and I'm happy it isnt lol! Edit: Spelling
Beautiful watch that catched my attention a couple of days ago. Have to Put it on the wrist, as soon as i see it. Breitling is way overpriced though. In my opinion they should change there price Marketing. Thats what i love about Rolex. You get what you pay for at retail without discount and have even more. You can save up to 30% and more on Breitling online. Really a good Brand?
Very cool piece, BUT it's a Breitling! (Before I get called a watch snob, I do have own a B01 Premier and a Navitimer). I am a buyer at a DEEP discount. This is a good Patek clone...
Why cut the numerals rather than making them smaller? Also, not a fan of the seringe hands. Human face on the moon, meh. Not something I would want to add, personally. I like some oddball pieces, not this one.
This and the pistachio dial are both absolutely beautiful. More than anything, I think they show that there's more to Breitling than the Navitimer and Super Ocean. If you do pull the trigger on this, enjoy!
One of the best looking chronos. Stunning!
Beautiful piece in my opinion. One of my favorite in recent Breitling's releases.
Bruce, I think you have the right idea, w, this one. What a beauty it is, and I feel the bracelet, only enhances it. Great video👍
Do it Bruce! Absolutely love this piece. Stunner in my opinion!
I'm with you on this Bruce. Not many watches strike me. This one does. Love it.
That Breitling is a beautiful watch and you should go for it. Like you said.. "the emotion that it incites"...is one of the reasons why we collect watches! One of your best videos!
Great video! 💪I love Breitlings ❤️ i have the Datora 42 and it is my favorite watch by far.
to me, this is most beautiful watch in the world, grail of grails, absolute stunner, perfect in every way ❤️😍👊🏻💯
That dial is amazing. Definitely on my “some day” list.
This is a glorious piece.
Thank you for doing this video on this Breitling. Stunning Macros as always.
Thanks bro!
Great watch Bruce! Good choice! I love Breitling watches! They realy make beautiful extraordinary watches away from mainstream!
Love this watch, Bruce, but I think I’m going to love whatever you will be flipping to get it!🙂

At the moment, for that price, the best looking watch on the market today .
Beautiful watch, that Breitling with the Pistachio dial is also amazing.

Completely agree. Split second chronograph but in red gold, black dial combo for less than £16k. Absolute bargain vs say a stainless Rolex!

For me, it’s not about the retained value so I say go for it.

I love the triple date automatics and manual winds as well, especially a good monophase
Love this watch. Do it, Bruce!
Good pick Bruce! If I had the funds I'd go for this in a minute. Looks like a Patek from afar and close up I think it compares, sort of.
I like watches very few say they do. This is a good thing Bruce. More for us!
I tried this watch at an AD and it is very very good. Loved the pusher actuation.
Very good action!
Probably the nicest of the Premier models. Would like to try it on.
Great review. Appreciate that Bruce gets into some alternatives to the usual.
This only now just popped up on my feed. I can see how you love this watch! I hope you do get it (or have you already?) It's beautiful!

Oh look, the great Bruce Williams is drawn into the premier datora! What a magical historical moment!
Let's not spoil it folks.
Bruce is killing it this week!

Bruce, DO THIS!! this is the only watch i wouldnt mind losing half its value.... lifetime piece
Beautiful watch 🥰😍😘
Incredible watch. With a blue dial, it could be my grail!
Can't wait to see it on a bracelet 🍻
YES do it! The idea is just cool!!
This is a beautiful watch🤩
Hi Bruce, speaking of details on the dial, did you notice that the 2 faces of the moon are different!?
One has its eyes closed and the other one open.
To me, unless you can afford Patek, AP and Vacheron.....Breitling are leading the way currently. Its a crime to ignore them.
Why don't you use the youtube subtitle function? I really appreciate the effort for people with hearing problems, but i find it to be a little distracting from the watch.
Hey Bruce, would this model look good on the Superocean heritage mesh bracelet? That’s a 22mm lug also. Great video, I love this Breitling too. 👍🏻
background bethoven is mint *chef's kiss lol
@BruceWilliams is the strap in the video black or brown?
Absolutely love this
I really love it.
It is a nice classically designed complete calendar. I’m seeing the 1940s vibe and you gotta get an aloha short to wear it with.
Beautiful watch. I nearly bought it, but the sensible me won. If money was no object I’d get it
It is a beautiful piece. The size is great for me. Hey, if you want to go for it I say do it. You have thought it out😉.

The Datora reminds me of the Zenith Chronomaster triple date moonphase.
Bruce why not for the same price consider the JLC master control chrono that has day date month moonphase chrono automatic 40mm and low 12mm in thickness? It just came out on a bracelet too
Hmmm, I'll have to consider that too
Just saw good one of these for sale on WUS. Price is right. Better check it out!
Bruce, did you get rid of this watch? If so, why?
Did you buy it after so much admiration?
I’m with you, I love it
I want to do the same thing! Any info on the bracelet/price ?
Does the day and month switch automatically?
Too refined/complicated for my taste but I can appreciate why you'd want this one. Definitely get the bracelet if you do. Cheers!!

Best B ever made
Ohh! Look, a Patek! Oh no, wait...
Salmon is the new green
After pining for a Daytona for years and then seeing this Breitling, all I can say is what Daytona??? I bet the AD wont treat you like garbage either.
So many things I love about this piece and so many others that are ruined for me by cut off Arabic indices.
isn`t the patek philippe the grail? the breitling i can buy.. 🙂

I have #25/25...It is my Holy Grail of watches.
I like it apart from the dial colour.
If only they came out with a blue dial I would be all over this 😢
Stunning watch that truly belongs on a leather strap. Don’t ruin it by putting it on a bracelet, keep at least one of your watches on a strap.
Looks like a Patek
I’m giving your video a thumbs up but what your planning to do a thumbs down, actually I say do it, y after a month or 2 it will become a GAW.
