    About playing perfect cs: you also have to remember that lower skilled players will play incredibly randomly.
    You can do everything correct and do the right play against a high level player but when you get randomly pushed by a P90 it doesn't matter what the perfect play would be because you aren't playing against perfect cs.

      @John Smith he gave a crappy example, but the point stands

    • @wek33
      @wek33 2 ปีที่แล้ว +46

      The p90 rush is a common one. Like trying to come out hut on nuke and you have to clear rafters, floor, and mustang. I can't even count how many times I've been run down while trying to clear those angles when if I had just ignored the angles and ran out I could have gotten the timing on the CT crab walking off silo. And this is all late round after I've used my util and am expecting them to have calmed down and taken a defensive position. Now that just goes to one of voo's final points about not playing like a T on CT. Often to be more successful it seems like you have to turn down your own game to compete on their level. Which is painfully counterintuitive.

    • @gamingmarcus
      @gamingmarcus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +75

      @John Smith Not exactly. Perfect cs means you maximise your winning chances with every play. But that's assuming your opponents do the same.
      You can find countless examples of pro players being caught offguard in MM simply because they would never in a million years expect the plays that people do there.

      @@gamingmarcus I 100% get you. Had this happen in a mm game last week. Cts just ran out of every angle holding w with no regard for how many people were behind the corner. I died to it at least 5 times before adjusting lmao.

      @thawtayza1892 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @John Smith in absolute theory “perfect play” means you can’t lose.. but that’s impossible in cs. What people usually mean in csgo by “perfect play” is perfect play against top players. Which can be countered by more brain dead players with decent aim

  • @andrasense
    @andrasense 2 ปีที่แล้ว +340

    Another reason that I wanna add about playing too perfect is because there are many players who scared af about their stats while they should learn to make impacts.

    One thing that improved me a lot and is definitely missing on this list, is knowing when to back down especially on CT. When you wound your enemy down to say half hp, don't be greedy but back down. It's not good to get traded or even get killed when you re-peek or continue your spray and lose a lot of map control, when the other option is to continue fighting at the next choke point with an upper hand. Trying to kill two players instead of just one is not a winning move if you die.

    Some mistakes that I've noticed often on my games.
    1. Making unnecessary noise by giving obvious info all the time that is already known by teammates.
    2. Giving false info like when seeing one enemy then yell ''It's A or B!'' and everybody goes there.
    3. Reacting too slow on given info, when it's really rush B but nobody reacts for reasons unknown.
    4. Wasting all the utility immediately.
    5. Throwing molotovs to smoke or multiple smokes to same spot because of no communication.
    6. Not giving info at all, not communicating and probably don't even have a mic.
    7. Judging other's decisions when you're already dead.
    8. Giving orders when you're the worst player in the team.
    9. Refusing to take any orders or suggestions because you're the best player in the world.
    10. Baiting.

      I used to be very active in voice chat. But after i stopped playing every since i got back i just play with another friend and talk with them and fully mute teammates. I just cant be bothered anymore. They just made stupid update after stupid update. Removing bots was the icing on the cake. I'd rather have an uncontrollable bot that does damage and makes noise than go 4v5. And in mg you go 4v5 very very often. The 1000$ compensation really isnt as useful as a player that doesnt grief or one that hasnt left already. Stuff like that just make it a hassle to communicate with your team so i just dont bother with it anymore.

      Number 3 is probably caused by number 2. I see that in my games way too often. Recently was playing mirage and died in window (ofc made the call out) and proceeded to watch teammates and a dude sees one player in apartments and yells full b (like 30 seconds or so after me dying). The rest of the players were either stupid or something and didn’t rotate and just stayed on A site and con.

      ''Steps on ramp''
      ''Steps on Palace''
      ''Multiple steps near A''
      ''One tetris''
      ''Two palace''
      etc...
      I do that while trying to handle the situation. When I'm in a good team I let the teammates decide when they think they should come to help me. I just don't yell:
      ''Nades and steps on A! It's A! HEEELP!''
      Immediately when something happens.
      Because there could be a lurker with a bomb going to B so unless I saw the bomb or 5 guys going to A I don't give orders.

    id rather have a teammate whos too aggressive than too passive tbh. Aggressive can be really good. You need that especially T side. If your teammates are to afraid to peak first, it just becomes a bait fest and you lose. Everyone has different playing styles, but in my opinion, being aggressive can be a really good thing. You wanna be passive if ur CT side no eco, then you're best bet is to hold angles and hope the T side will peak into your crosshair.

    • @fica1137
      @fica1137 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Both very aggressive and very passive players can be bad or good. Though good aggressive players will have more impact on T side. For example that passive player on T side can be great at clutching but those players are very rare unfortunetly

    • @Yveldi
      @Yveldi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      YES. Especially when I was on a lower level, I would have this problem all the time. I have always been an aggressive player myself, and even though I have become more passive over time to have a more balanced playstyle, I knew we would have no chance at winning a match if I got three or more teammates who would be just passive all the time.
      In those games, either you get an entry and basically carry them, or you fail to get the entry and your teammates wait until there are 20 seconds remaining every round. Either the enemy team throws their CT side by rushing for no reason, or your teammates rush in with very little time left and then die like idiots because they don't know what to do when playing offensively. Baiters are the absolute worst.

    on crosshair placement: one of the things that a remarkable number of people dont comment on/know is that you should ALWAYS be adjusting your angles for YOUR reaction time. if you have an "average" reaction time, you need to have your crosshair further away from that angle even IF you are awping, as you will have LESS need of movement to get on target. I used to hold insanely tiny angles because i had the reaction time to hit a sliver of an angle before they fully passed it. Now? 20 years later my "sliver" angle is 3-5 times what it was before depending on my reaction time for that day. So while yes its very true that people also peak very wide in general, if you have an insane reaction time, you CAN hold an angle closer to a wall that will be feasible for YOU, or conversely you might see someone like a pro holding a super tiny angle, doesnt mean its right "for you" even at higher ranks. You should always consider your own capabilities when deciding how close or far away from a wall/box you are aiming. Same goes for dpi/mouse speed. the better your reaction time, the more natural a "faster" speed will seem natural.

    The Curse of random teammates. It has become increasingly frustrating in solo queuing or duo-queuing to end up with "dem noobs". The fix is surprisingly easy though. Instead of complaining about what you can not control (i.e. teammates baiting, not trading, not doing anything etc.), just play what you can control. Especially on t-site that is: Bait your teammates. Let them always go first. Sometimes that means you have to wait for 1min, because they are too scared. But eventually they will go. In that way, you can control the essentials:
    Flash for your teammates, trade them properly, and hopefully live until the after plant, which is usually easy to win against "dem noobs".

      if yr simple, you'll do something inconceivable & make it work. if yr scream you'll engage at long range to use yr taps &c &c
      if they're hyper-aggro you can exploit that bc they're going to be impatient & peek you in bad spots if you don't immediately peek them, for passive players you can crush them by simply doing nothing.
      essentially 1v1s are like tic-tac-toe: the right move is dictated by what your opponent is doing. so to win them, know more control their information & the pacing of the engagement...

    I strongly agree with the last point. I have a theory--if you play like you are smurfing, your opponent might just become the noob. When you are playing really focused and trying to be "perfect", you become somewhat predictable. However, when you give up that perfectness and go for ridiculous solo pushes, you can mess up your opponent's timing and aim. I do get punished playing like this often, but I get rewarded more often than you would think. When I am playing at my rank, if I take it slow and carefully, it usually becomes an easy peek for my opponent. This is just my theory tho.

    about not playing ct side as a t, i prefer not playing t side as a ct. I am a faceit level 10 on SEA servers and people there are so freaking bait and they just hold angles for the hold round as a t side player. They wait for teammates to get entries and openings then go and trade. If no one is going to entry they just sit and do nothing. But once they are on ct side they push a lot. This has bugged me for so long and i don't know why people are like that. Ridiculous

      That's me men! I am EXACTLY that person you feel so bugged by. I love fragging, but hate dying, it is that simple. If we were on a team, you do the entry (while me in safety) and once you die I rush out and try to kill the low HP guy and get the fragg. I LOVE teammates like you. Thanks for making fragging easier for others.

    Hey Voo question how does the abandoned matchmaking works? like does it affect your rank and get a derank, when i played matchmaking today won like 3 games in a roll the other team that i face got a 7 days abandoned cooldown and does it hurt his rank for abandoning the match? Like idk how the abandoned matchmaking system works.

      afaik if you abandon (or not) you get points as per your performance (team rounds won, plus a few points for things like round mvp stars)
      so if you ditch yr team & they suffer for it: so do you. simple solution: don't abandon matches.

    You pretty much said as I interpreted it atleast that you should only try not to play perfect when you need to carry in lower elos.

    whenever i do anything its almost always luck. when i win its almost always because i screwed up so badly that it threw off my opponent enough to barely come out on top. when i lose its almost always because... actually i have no idea how to give a good example to visualize it in CS: GO. cause i dont mean always getting screwed over by missing shots that are because of RNG.
    imagine the worst desync you've ever had in a game. and i mean Star Citizen level desync at its worst (although ive heard that its now basically a non issue in the last patch that dropped last week). now picture that in real life. thats the level of bad luck i deal with. just this week i dropped my glasses which bounced behind me when i tripped. and despite falling forwards, i landed square on top of them. one moment they were by my feet, the next they were under my shoulder

    you talk about csgo like its chess, do you actually consciously think this in-depth while in a game or is it just subconscious things you do

    • @vooCSGO
      @vooCSGO  2 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      actually really like this question. no, most of this stuff HAS to be subconscious in order to actually do it. there's just too many things to think about for your brain to actively do it. it's like a pyramid. you need the bottom of the pyramid (things like basic movement - not holding W around corners, crosshair placement, etc) to be subconscious in order to be able to really attack the next level of the pyramid. if you're still focused on the bottom of the pyramid, you can't build on top of it.
      generally once you've played enough, you're thinking about things like 2 layers deep in clutch scenarios, you're thinking about how to counter what your opponents are doing and all of that type of stuff.
