You don't see this pedal very often on current pedalboards, but it is still a class of its own. I am so grateful to have this awesome reverb pedal on my board. This video is the best video on the Eventide Space I have seen so far. Very inspirational! 🙌🙏👍👍👏👏👏
This video confirms the random weird dudes that popped into the strymon threads just to say "Space is the best reverb of all time." Were actually right.
There are so few videos of the eventide Space, because this machine can get so complex you could spend hours and hours, and still just be touching the surface and I feel so damn proud of owning it. Thanks for this fresh video in 2022. I admire your work here! Kudos!
it is as deep as it is wide. i find it remarkably easy to navigate because of the screen, but it still requires patience and constant noodling. thank you for the kind words.
I've had this pedal for about 4 years. I've been a preset user this entire time. This is super inspiring and the first in-depth video I've seen. Eventide should be using this to market it.
Thanks for sharing. I like the format of having pure sound demo with comments in letters rather than voice. The shimmer was explained in a way that helped me with my own unit. Your music sounded like a playful and good jam session.
Super lovely demo and your passion for the Space is both beautifully written and heard. Made me take mine out of storage and go back in my board today.
i absolutely love this pedal i want it so bad, and i LOVE the added commentary. adds such a warm, explorative, loving, welcoming energy which pairs so well with all of the sounds you’re making with the pedal
I have both Space and Blue Sky, and Space is way more of a "studio classic" reverb, but with serious tricks up its sleeve like black hole, mangleverb, echh etc. Can't recomend it enough, sounds wonderful and great to mix.
Got mine a couple of weeks ago. Now waiting for the holidays to pass so I can do major renovations in my studio and start recording with it. Already did a bunch of jams with it using synths, and it's ... well... bizarre, alien weirdness, blackhole, plate and pulsar especially. I was gravitating towards Amplitube's X-Space, but in the end got won over by this.
I’ve had one for years and everyone bangs on about the Styrmon, to me this always beat it hands down. My friend has an eventide 3000 and it’s was a monster, but this can do much of what the 3000 when I use it with the eventide delay. I use mine for ambient guitar and keyboard works and can’t think of any thing better, they are like instruments that you need to know.
Same- to me, the Strymon is more "metalic" and maybe "clean", whereas this is more "warm", eg a little more distortion and more mid-rangey by default- for my music it's more organic.
I think that is true. I just got one a couple of weeks ago - nearly sent it back. It's high flexibility means that it's also quite easy to make "bad" sounds (or sounds that are not at all what you are looking for) That's not a fault but it does mean that the learning curve is going to be steeper than most reverbs.
Wow, so I THOUGHT this was a video from Eventide themselves. Production quality is great, the silent narration is pretty evocative of emotional marketing (in the best possible way), and for a pedal that has so many variable elements, I could buy one tomorrow and have a VERY good idea of how to capture the sound I want without messing with a manual too much. If ever a career labelled "Hallmark Technical Writer" becomes a thing, I know who innovated it!
Just saw you liked my comment... Does this mean the return of the Loon sometime soon? (Yes, the rhyme was intentional... and I'm not ashamed of myself for it ;-))
you know, the market is heavily saturated with gear. but among the deluge of boxes, reverbs, really nice, flexible, stereo reverbs are almost a rarity. only a few. a very select few. nice demo 🦊🤙
hi, thank you thank you. i don't remember the exact settings, but i do know that it was an octave and a fifth up with pitch feedback. any pedal/shimmer reverb/pitched delay would give a similar effect. i will also say that i am not playing anything complex. i am playing effectively a bass line on my guitar, the reverb is doing some insanely heavy lifting.
Lovely. Bought one recently and have been trying to figure out how to advance presets using the far right foot pedal. It seems to either only activate the tempo or puts it into preset editing. Any advice? Apologies in advance if you covered this.
I still have it on my board...but the 8-bit processing has become an issue with 24 to 32-bit pedals in front of it... Not worth the $500 they still want for it... Looks like the new Mercury X is the replacement pedal that covers it and alot more...
2 years later, this pedal still goes for 500 euros. This price is justified by the science inside it, but not by the hardware. Way too expensive. I can buy a synthesizer with this kind of money..
You do not own one. I do and... Its capabilities have me in a static state of Tharn, just imagining the possibilities, so bad I have it next to me and am afraid my music will never do its supreme exaltation the atmospheres of ... the atmospheres atmo SPHEREzzz

Strymon Big Sky is just a different reverb.

Proud owner here to, was worried about the cost but no regrets, find something new everytime.

thank you thank you. don't be afraid to venture outside of what's been defined for you. it's nice out there.

The pedal is great sounding, but the video itself it's wonderful: your style is delicate, relaxing and informative.
Such a beautiful video. Thanks!
In a crowded world of "new ambient reverb" pedals this continues to be unique & very flexible, a tweakers delight.
The space is my asteroid praying go-to every time.
Super lovely demo and your passion for the Space is both beautifully written and heard. Made me take mine out of storage and go back in my board today.
excellent!
This video made me hit "Buy Now" I love dark, wobbly, spacey, detuned sounds.
Thanks for the beautiful journey.
this video makes me happy
I’ve had one for 11+ years now, and it’s still fantastic! 👍🏻
This pedal couldn't be called differently, it's just like Space, each time we decide to explore we find something new. Awesome video, very inspiring
Bare none the best reverb ever and I owed many!
Even after eleven years this pedal kills the newest of the new.
Good Work :) I enjoyed that very much...space is a cool reverb
it truly lives up to its name.
i absolutely love this pedal i want it so bad, and i LOVE the added commentary. adds such a warm, explorative, loving, welcoming energy which pairs so well with all of the sounds you’re making with the pedal
had it for abbout 3 years now, you can use it for faux delay, a "freeze", a tremelo, even make it sound like a leslie.
Brilliant! Thank you so much 🙏
Very nice
why thank you
This might just be my favourite gear demo of all time.
Got mine a few years ago, everyone harped about the strymon being the better option, but I completely disagree. The space is a staple on my board
I have both Space and Blue Sky, and Space is way more of a "studio classic" reverb, but with serious tricks up its sleeve like black hole, mangleverb, echh etc. Can't recomend it enough, sounds wonderful and great to mix.
i feel the space is a little less colored than the bluesky. it's a more neutral approach to reverb, expanding on classics instead of changing them.
Actually I’ve got one and love it cheers for been my deep space guide, it’s pretty easy to get lost out there but it always sounds good!
Have put a Drumbrute Impact through this pedal and was big galactic fun
Wow ! I’ve had one for 3 years and this is what I’ve needed this entire time!!! Thank you 🙏🏾!
go now, astronaut. you're needed. love, from earth.
@@thelarkandloon7116 haha!
Your trip is short. Cool vid.

and i love you.
That was a really nice review. I loved the format and the commentary. Great job! :D
thank you!

The end really struck me
I’d get one but I just don’t got the space 🤔

any studio could use a little space.

i have a little space on the way for my studio right now 😊

Superb video. I just bought one, do you know what the base patch for the final effect is? Pipe organ + moon setting :D

@@thelarkandloon7116 it's genuinely amazing. Don't know how the engine does it but it's so smooth moving between shimmered notes

RTFM
I want one to be under Christmas tree.😂
Just think if i could go back in time and give this to hendrix he would of mastered it in 6 months
Anyone else had an issue where midi clock changes are not received when the Space is connected to the H9 control app?
Great pedal but only for some certain vibe i guess.

Is Space really 8bit? What!
Where do you find specs showing 8 bit? Please share, enlighten us. Thanks. FYI as of 2022 they've lowered the price.
Wouldn't you love to go yo a yard sale and see one of these for 20 dollar😂
