Happy new year to all you beautiful people! If Sweetwater reads these comments, I would say please continue to send all manner of pedals and guitars to WCM. I would love to see a surprise pedal in a box (as done with JHS) feature where you guys get surprised with something and then just have fun with it... even if it's bad. It can be fun watching people laughing, being silly, trying to make a pedal sound good. Regardless, still one of my favourite channels. Look forward to all of 2023's content.
Happy new year! I resolve to play more music in 2023 :) The only eventide item I have is a power supply, so I can't really contribute much to this convo.
I still use one, but I actually had the Empress Reverb before this and liked it better honestly. Such a good unit but really feels like a lot of companies have been really innovating in reverb since then and the Space has been left behind a bit. Doing the standalone Blackhole release was nice, but it would be REALLY sick if they released a new big box reverb with updated sounds
typed this before finishing the video lol, glad we're basically on the same page. also would love to see eventide's take on something like the Chase Bliss Dark World
😊everytime I hear that Slowdive riff. Xander I also have a Mr black reverbs and blood moon is the one I liked the most out of supermoon chrome and the eterna. He does dark reverbs and reverb shim well.
Just like Xander, I'm a guy that likes to play through my amp reverb and that's why I love Fender Amps. However, I also believe that the Space is still a very relevant effect and it still has it uses in a modern setting. I still use a Boss Re-20 in most situations and it still holds up against some newer Reverb and Reverb Delay units besides at the end of the day, it really based around the player and their ears. If it sounds good then it sounds good.
I really liked mine, only parted ways with it because of a trade for the Pitch Factor. Thankfully Eventide made some great plugins versions from a bunch of Space algorithms, love the weirdness of the Blackhole, anything sounds cool with that
Today , after 13 years of waiting I bought this Eventide Space, I always dreamed to have this reverb - and I bought the Strymon Big Sky in 2017 - somehow it's more simply to tweak the Space and more easy to get those incredible spatial sounds but I can tell that the Big Sky is equaly awesome ... I love them both ! ...
Space does a lot very well. I also loved the Empress Reverb. Most everything is good on that pedal, and a few algos are great. But I couldn't get over its blindspot: really bad spring reverb. We begged and pleaded for Empress to update the spring algorithm, and after years of no spring update (instead we got a looper), I dumped it. For me, I wish Empress would do a standalone Ghost.
Jason's narrative introduction of the SPACE killed me XD especially when they had the "epic" lighting on the BlueSky. My personal favorite user of the SPACE is Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, that rig rundown was the first pedal-related video I ever watched and seeing his third board off to the side that was just the Eventide Factor series and this pedal was a "mind blown" moment for me. btw Xander's guitar sounds AMAZING I still think SPACE does so much so well, and honestly we're at a point where if you have a pedal as powerful as SPACE, Empress Reverb, or BigSky, it's more about knowing how to use it versus having the "best" one; it's like making a tier list of characters in a fighting game - sure, some are going to be easier to use or may have outright stronger options (and there's a trade-off of unique options that comes with selecting one character and not the other), but ultimately it comes down to "do you know what you need in a certain situation and are you facile enough with your tools to make it happen" (I blame Xander for mentioning the PS2 to send me on this tangent); additionally, even though the H9/H90 have all these algorithms, and might have more power, there's something to having all the knobs up front and having the HotSwitch right there.
Have to get those eventide patches running on my zoom stomp again. Forgotten how good they are. And love that distortion Xander - I didn’t get another hizumitas in the end. Guy on one of my pedal swap groups had a black mass first herald he wanted to exchange. Worth it for the dirty boost circuit, and the fuzz is awesome, too.
Honestly think the pedal is wayyyyyyy overpriced. Wow, you got 100 presets for reverb stuff. All sound just super out of space and can only be used for very trippy music. Idk.

Still love the variety of styles you play in a single review. That mangledverb is something else.
Also love the intro to the pedal...."Before the dark times, before the Strymon." So good.
Haha same, before the strymon times 😂
Thank you so much. Our editor works hard

What’s the guitar(with bigsby)?????
I really liked mine, only parted ways with it because of a trade for the Pitch Factor. Thankfully Eventide made some great plugins versions from a bunch of Space algorithms, love the weirdness of the Blackhole, anything sounds cool with that
ok but have u heard the "flurb" setting on the EHX Holy Grail?????
I like that setting a lot! My big box 90s Holy Grail is one of my favorites

So happy to see the Duane Denison EGC getting played! Let’s hear the Jazzmaster and the EGC into the Sunn Model T!
We'll start doing deep-dives and demos on the big amps soon

quick answer..everything is still good and relevant from any time period.

I love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and fighting games. Glad to know we have cool fans. Thanks for the kind words!
Me about to start this video knowing I have a Space in transit 👀
Mine arrives today....
Im in the market for a used one for my hardware analog DAWless synth setup.
GOAT👈🏻
Before the dark times. Before the hamburder.

It’s a masterpiece, desert island pedal all day.
This is fun. I dig your presentation.
Vice City Forever!
here is a real challenge...pheyend a bad pedal.

Comparrison using distortion? Yeah, OK. Next.
