I own an older PO. I love it. Had it for 12 years, now gone in for it's first service. I like the review, I watch these all the time. I could not help noticing immediately that the font used on these numerals is close to IDENTICAL to that used by Glasshutte on their SeaQ Panorama date, as well as the smaller SeaQ!
I have a 42mm PO (blue, titanium) and love it! In my collection I have several Rolex (including a Sub), JLC, Patek, etc. But I keep wearing my PO. Simply an amazing piece. Beautiful, robust, accurate, and different than the “standard” Rolex everyone gravitates to. Highly recommended!
I got the 37.5 titanium PO and I couldn't agree more it has a design pulled from omegas great history that differentiates it from the sub. Absolutely love mine.
Your video just made my day. Bought the exact same watch not long after it was released and is my 2nd longest owned watch after a 2007 Seamaster Diver 300. Only changed to the rubber strap recently as I had lost 35 kg and the bracelet was just to hefty for my slimmer wrist. Your assessment is spot on. While the helium valve is more of a novelty for most of us, to me it does balance the overall symetry. The slightly wider right side would look to pronounce without the helium escape valve on the left side IMHO.
You. aren't the first owner of this watch that I've come across whose owned it for many years. It has a certain something that helps it remain in a collection. I was a bracelet wearer too until I slimmed down. Love it on OEM rubber though. So comfy and looks very good too. I get the symmetry point, but I prefer watches without them :-)
Well done, Dan!! I can see a marked improvement over your first video. Both the video quality and your commentary have improved immensely. You sound a lot more calm and confident. It's like your sitting in the pub telling your mate about the PO over a beer. It makes it very easy to listen to you. Thanks for the great review and, as usual, looking forward to seeing what you have for us next time.
Cheers René! I've been trying to get used to the camera. I feel really uncomfortable, but in time I should be ok. I remembered to shoot i 4K this time so it really looks better. Next video will be soon.
I bought this same watch new and still have it in my collection. It's a great watch and highly sought after on the second-hand market. There isn't a time when I'm wearing it, that I don't get an offer to sell it. I alternate on different straps, but I mainly wear it on a crocodile leather strap and it looks FANTASTIC!!
@@Jay-xr3sb Hi Jay. The reference number for the strap is 98000364 Phone your nearest Omega boutique and they will see you right. You'll also need to order a deployant clasp. The one on mine is 94521833 although they've released others that would fit since then.
Good informative video, I’m in the process of buying the same model, I used to own PO 2008 non ceramic, just dropping out a Sub to fund it & put a couple of quid away lol, can’t wait for it to arrive.
Nice review, your PO 2500 liquid metal is beautiful and more rarely seen, I have the 42mm PO 2500C from 2009 with matte black dial/black bezel and white tri arabics " love the open 6 and 9 font" and I've only grown to appreciate this design more over the years as I feel it has a more elegant and understated toolish look compared to the newer shinier 8500/8900 models, now I know the newer version are technically superior and they are awesome watches but to me the 2500 has so much more of a direct design lineage from the classic Seamasters of the late 60's while still being a modern built dive watch, it's a timeless design that I'm happy to own, it'll always be in my possession.
Excellent review man I have the titanium liquid metal 37.5mm and wears like a dream on a OEM rubber strap bracelet is a little too thin. But the premium feel of the planet ocean is amazing. Like you said it pulls from the 1957 300 and I think that was the peak of sports watch design. Love how they have dresses them up now as well a building up the tool watch side with the new ultra deep. Omega is hitting both dressy and sports crowd but I think this is an excellent in between 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice review, very helpful as I'm looking at a unit that's selling for £7200. There's another on offer for £9600 (unworn) but that's just crazy money for me. Thanks for the thorough recap on the history.
@@TheSurreyWatchGuy That sounds great, I would appreciate it if you can give me a heads up when you're selling the unit. Pls email me on weezkid@gmail.com Thanks!
I’ve owned mine for almost 10 years now - and worn it almost daily. Pictures/videos don’t do this piece justice - you just can’t capture the vividness of the black gloss. I can tell you, this watch draws more eyes than many much more expensive watches - and that applies to both people in the know and laymen.
Have you tried doing a side by side comparison to the 1st generation 42mm planet ocean? If yes, which one do you prefer? The matte dial & bezel of the 1st generation or this one with the glossy dial & bezel?
Yep I had the orange bezel 2500. Back then in 2010 i was a huge fan of gloss so the LE was way nicer in my eyes. Nowadays I'm not so sure. No wrong choice. Buy what YOU like most 😃
Gday very nice review. I do beg to differ that the thickness is attributed to the 600m water resistance. I have the first gen PO and it is a pretty slim piece given its 600m water resistance. Not sure why your LE is thicker as it still has the 2500c movement in it!
Thanks for the comments. It has the same case as a regular 2500 PO. It is slim for 600m WR, but I find them a thick watch regardless. Still a great watch though.
The best planet ocean ever released. The newer ones can't match this, perfect size gloss black dial with red seamaster font and second hand tip. Fits under shirt cuff relatively easily and doesn't weigh a tonne

A beautiful watch. I would have one if it weren't for this one. Wears so nice, especially on that blue rubber strap with white stitching.

I just saw the titanium 42 mm blue PO. I have a Sub as well and this PO is absolutely marvelous (and priced at a bargain by comparison).
I found your contents by accident, appreciate all the details you put into the video. I'm looking for mine still and hope to find it one day.

Thanks for a nice run through of this classic watch - I just got my Planet Ocean cal. 8900 but same design - and I love it.
My pleasure and enjoy the new Planet Ocean! 🙂
I have had POLE since 2013. watch is beautiful and has kept it value..which is a big bonus
Almost as long as I've had mine. It's certainly a nice bonus and one of few Omega's that have fared well in that regard.
These Planet Ocean Watches are just gorgeous.
They have a certain something for sure. Omega make one suitable for pretty much everyone too.

really like this version, so much more interesting than the standard. Great vid mate!
Cheers Mark. Totally agree. I had the original orange one, but foolishly bought it in 45.5mm. Wrist frisbee!
Nice one, Dan. The videos are becoming more 'polished' with each release. Keep it up, fella.

A true modern classic you have there. The 2500 was the icon of the PO generations. A great movement is important, but aesthetics stand for lots too 🙂
Now that is a thing of rare beauty, great vid
I'm blessed to own one and thank you.
Great presentation. Superb watch. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chris.Really appreciate it. 🙂
I love my liquid metal planet ocean. Great watch.
I’ve always admired the broad arrow and skeleton hands on the Omega divers. 👍🏻

Fantastic video, mate. Kind of want one now!

I wish the current POs were closer to the 14mm thickness like those one.
What is the model number of the OEM rubber strap and deployment clasp?
I have this one from 2009. It still looks new and latest
It's got that timeless look. Omega have never bettered the Planet Ocean since this reference.

Have 2017 po skyfall no adjustment clasp had to buy one £230 it comes std on the new 8900 movement
Seems crazy it took until the 3rd generation of the Planet Ocean to add it. Especially for such a heavy watch.
I definitely prefer the matte dial on my 2201 but I would love to have that bezel…
Nice one Dan, still a beauty that piece.

Yep. I don't think it will ever me matched. All aspects of design, fit and finish were nailed with this one. Nothing short of spectacular.
Nice watch👍
