This was also my first ever Omega, it was also my first automatic watch and the gateway drug to other watches since. Others have come and gone but this will never leave, I still think it’s perfect. Though I’ve now put it on a rubber strap to try and add some comfort. It keeps perfect time +/- 2 mins a month, which is always so impressive to me.
Great to learn. I just put down a deposit on a new, old stock, blue 42 mm planet ocean. I was initially looking for a 39.5 mm steel, but after seeing the 42 mm titanium, I could not resist.
I am the proud owner of an Omega Seamaster chronometer. My Seiko watch boasts an impressive 70-hour power reserve and surpasses the Omega in terms of accuracy. However, it lacks the remarkable anti-magnetic properties of the Omega. Among my collection, the Seiko LX titanium spring drive stands out as the most precise timepiece. Additionally, I cherish my Seiko 62mas.
A great looking watch here James. I was always more of a fan of the 39mm version but, having got used to a lot of larger watches more recently I think that this model would probably be the sweet spot. Great little review here. ✊
After buying a SMP diver 300m, selling a black face and buying a white face (hey man, speaking watches), I’m genuinely fulfilled with my Great White. This thing is just awesome to wear. Thanks for a great video!
Have it 42mm since 2017 and wear it on leather with Omega buckle on it; really like it, frankly speaking more than my Seamaster 300 8800. I also really like the bracelet unlike that on SMP 300, but which has micro adjustment (the bracelet tappers down so cannot switch it from my SMP 300M which I also prefer to wear on leather). I think that my Speedy's micro adj clasp (bought separately) may fit the PO bracelet but then I need them on it. I am looking forward to Omega releasing Planet Ocean with GMT/Chrono but in 39.5-42mm with micro adj, hopefully.
Yes a joke have one got a micro adjustment but u have to no what one to get cos the strap on this is smaller than the 8900 model , I had to get the medium clasp with 6 adjustment, but no diver exstion cos with it , it was poppin out with the diver exstion
I have the p.o 2500 myself and I stare at it on a daily basis. I chose it over the 2nd and 3rd generation p.o's, but it was a close call between the 2500 & 8500 . Went with the 42mm 2500 because I was worried the 42mm 8500 might be too thick at 16.3 thick ? Maybe it's not, and I'll trade my 2500 for the 42mm 8500. Maybe 😁
Sure is, but was that model ever released for the general public? I know of a titanium PO in 42mm with blue dial and bezel though, whereas the one worn during the opening sequence of Skyfall featured a dull grey dial and bezel - that's the one i want!
Just picked up one from AD today. Although the height is a little bigger, the overall size wears well. You can feel the weight and quality of the watch. The bracelet is much nicer which is why I selected this over the Seamaster 300 m. Just did not like the bracelet. I think this watch is much nicer than the Submariner at almost $4000.00 cheaper. I got a great discount, great service and even a free bottle of bourbon. My first Omega brand new!
I fell in love with this watch ⌚ right i saw it on the James bond movie so I save for a few years and I finally got this version in this particular version a few months ago best buy ever! And pretty sure the price it would go up, because based on what omega planet ocean had represent to James bond character with Daniel Craig. Great review tho 👌
If the 8500 is anti magnetic up to 15,000 gauss, then is the only difference between the 8900 and 8500 being the 8900 is officially certified to being anti magnetic to 15,000 gauss?
This brings back the 2015 memories of watching your hands-on reviews around Speedies and Subs. Love it, James. Omega brothers for life!
I sold my 2500 and got a Tudor BB 41...will get the 8500..love the display case back..one of the most comfortable bracelet..

Great video on a very nice watch. Well done as always James.
BEST WATCH VIDEO EVER--because you focus entirely on the watch!! great video!
Excellent piece. Wear it in good health. Regards.
i love the PO from year 2012. So unique in look. I am the 007 Skyfall and love it most. tnx 4 the great video! Never sell it.
Great review James. Enjoyed this one. thank you 👏
Thanks for the refreshing, watch enthusiast videos. Take care James.
Very nice 👌 watch James !
Owned over ten Seamasters including the new one, multiple Planet Oceans, and the Spectre Seamaster 300 and the Titanium 42mm PO is my favorite.

Just got this on Friday 😊 but I need the micro adjustment on it like the new 43 mm 8900 movement

Stunning watch hands down. However, no micro adjustment

The PO is such a stud of a watch. I have the pre-ceramic and I just love to stare at it. So nice.

@@philly816 Don’t do it! Keep that first Gen banger!
@Bobby Situkangpoles Very well said. Completely agree
Great review! The Titanium version of this watch is spot on 🎯

8500 calibre only up to 1000gauss antimagnectic...latest 8900 is over 15000gauss...
Spot on, another great video.

The perfect watch!

They not go up only if it's the skyfall Ltd
Did it fit ?? Mine was and is terrible had to buy micro adjustable clasp as in the new model
The titanium version is 127 grams full bracelet... unreal to wear.
I have the Titanium GMT. Love it
Good vid pal , you still got your 2220.80 ?

Hi the 8500 is not master chronometer certified
Looking forward to watching this tomorrow James ✊
Make sure your not operating heavy machinery when watching it 😉
Omega👊🏼
Clasp is a f joke f me have one had to buy a micro adjustment clasp £230
The new POs have a jarringly shiny bezel and dial. They look so ugly. Mk1 and MK2 are where its at.
The most uncomfortable watch I’ve ever worn. I’m looking to trade mine in for the original planet ocean.
Too bad the 42 mm is no longer sold
2264.50.00 for life
Don't bother reading out the full serial number, mate!!
The Omega numbers I have stored in my head is crazy stupid. No wonder I can’t remember a thing my wife tells me 😉
@@showcasewatches3465 you remembered that?! What a database!
I remember a lot of them yeah, they are easy in some respects as the reference usually points towards the size and strap choices etc
@@showcasewatches3465 HAHA!
Too big, too thick.
I got one one Friday bud it's ok but needs the micro adjustment on it
