Nice work! I live in the US and these bikes are very uncommon, but one is for sale near me that supposedly just needs the carbs sorted. Tempted to pick it up.
The ZX6E/ZZR600 had a long production run in the U.S.A., 1993-2004, and they sold pretty well. Because they were not the latest, newest, fastest models, they were ignored by the motorcycle press for the most part. Being relatively inexpensive 20-30 year old bikes, you won't see a lot o them on the road these days. If you know how to clean carbs, and can do basic maintenance, you could score a great bike (assuming it's still around after 3 months). I'd strongly suggest getting a factory service manual. The ram air system works well, but everything has to be installed correctly for the bike to work well.
There aren’t any unless it’s been really badly set up . Carb sync is something you do on an engine only when everything else has been set correctly first.
Put a deposit on a ZZR1200 the other week at Chorley Yamaha gets delivered Wednesday they mentioned they have balanced the carbs I always assumed carbs should be cleaned then balanced. Any real benefit to balancing carbs without cleaning the carbs?
I usually check the carbs are clean inside and floats are set correctly first, Also valve clearances are in spec and also a compression test of each cylinder before balancing carbs. Just balancing carbs on it’s own wont do much unless everything else is correct first, But if the bike is being worked on by Pro mechanics at a dealer you have to assume they know their stuff, So I wouldn’t worry too much.
Hi, I'm hoping you are still online, I just bought a Kawasaki ZZR600. My husband was looking it over & we discovered there was only one line connected to the" fuel turn off switch" we were able to find only 1 additional line to connect. I called the seller & he asked if I had any problem starting the bike. Being a girl I imagine he didn't think it would be something I could fix. He said he" HAD THE RESERVE TURNED OFF" this was over a translation app. I'm assuming he meant he had the line off. I'm going to provide a picture, any help, advice or comment would be greatly appreciated & is much needed. Thank you. Endro

I always thought these bikes were popular in the US , It gets confusing as Kawasaki called them different names in different countries.
