Teaching a Whiplash Turn (from Control Unleashed)

The Whiplash Turn from Control Unleashed by Leslie McDevitt is one of our favorite skills to teach dogs! You can use the whiplash turn for all sorts of things, including a quick turn-away from distractions, loose leash walking & recall foundations, and more! Start by watching for the moment your dog turns their head back towards you, mark, and reward! Repeat, then add in different distractions at a distance so that your dog can learn that these things are just normal parts of the game.
