Well I’ve been using the Apple Watch for 2 years and I lost 50kg after a long illness and ran a half marathon in may by changing my life. I do 20km a day On a bike every day. I think this Garmin seems next level for my running and cycling. Never paid it much attention. Thank you.

I’m a little late to game,but I love this watch!Ive had the the Fenix 3 and sold it,Apple watch 4 gave it to my son and currently Apple watch 5. I miss the rugged durability of Garmin!

Just bought this watch. Thanks for the info. Now, the Fenix 7 is out, with rumors of the 8 on it's way. However, I am tired of using my Wahoo strap that doesn't seem to pair with Strava any more. This is my first smart watch. E-bay had it for $330. Your new price of $1K, makes this feel like I got a great deal, even if it is not the newest tech.

@@martinrenteriajr.924 I like it. I have an apple iPhone, and the Ultra I think would be a better watch for my needs. I like to Mtn bike, and this records very well. I miss out on not having a speaker, no mic, so I can't answer a call. I can't use just my watch for music for iTunes. I would have to set up and down load songs on spotify, which i do have a free account, but not a paid subscription.
However, I did not pay $900 for the apple watch. I paid just over $300, and that is a better bang for my buck. I don't mind much on what I don't have.
The Garmin has awesome data collections, and I am a data freak. A much better value than the apple watch, if you don't mind having all the bells and whistles!
Best Buy Canada just dropped the price of new F6 Pro Solar to $499 CDN this week. Currently using an Instinct 1 right now. Still $500 but half the price of new, but still 3 yr old tech. On the fence

Bought it as I was disappointed with my Samsung watch with respect to the accuracy of the GPS tracking. Thought that the additional alternatives to GPS would really makes a difference but so far I am a bit disappointed. Nevertheless, most of the other features are quite impressive, though. Just the SPO2 measuring is not working at all. I am getting results between 88% and a 100%. Guess anything below 92% would get you in ICU these days. But the rest I really like.
This watch is more of the hardware quality not so much the software. But I like it.

I'd love to get this watch too but for the moment the difference with the non-solar version is over $400, while a solar portable battery costs as little as $50. So the solar charging looks more like a feature for "collectors" than a practicality.
That’s because of the *under-screen* solar panel which is muuuch more expensive
This is probably the dumbest analysis of cost increase I’ve ever seen haha. They have to fit all that technology in a tight space. Your talking about a solar portable battery that’s probably much larger. Lol.
Hello Eric. Can I get my 6X solar to give me more audio feed backs while I am riding my bike or on my walk. While I am doing these two activites, audio through my headset tells me a current speed and while walking tells me the pace. I would love to discover or find out if it is capable of the watch giving me more audio parameters. Can it? Thanks.

The weekness of Garmin watches is always the watch body. They always break where the wristband attaches. I was hoping to learn whether or not the case of the 6x is sturdier. Why not a metal case?
On my Fenix 6X I have no readings showing for the high and low temperature widget around the edge of the watch face. It’s just showing a H- /L- It did show a reading when I first turned on the watch. Any suggestions watch wizard ?
Open the app on your phone and let it sync. You need to connect to a local weather station.

to me it sounds like the sapphire glass is a better option over the solar with only 3 days of extra battery.
Depends on if you want that extra time or not.
I see a followup coming up as first 2min in you say we need to wait for 6-8 months for the solar capability. Please let us know if we can expect.

When they first show the SOlar i was "Need it now"...but when i got it and did use it i change it to my 6x Sapphire. First they should made the SOlar sens. larger so it suck up more light. But the thing they did really bad is NO SAPPHIRE for their Top Watch...Been on Fenix from first one and love them, but if you use them hard their glass is not that great so Sapphire is a must.
No to bad tho, my 6x Sapphire ticking very solid and is a great watch.
I will ALWAYS choose a chest strap over an optical sensor when it comes to exercise

for anyone looking to buy this, I would wait. the battery market will be changing soon forever, the new technology going into these devices will be the difference of day and night in terms of run time, and for 1000 dollars this watch while very nice...simply isn't worth it for 3 extra days of battery life if you perform the necessary criteria to take advantage of the solar system, save the money and get the version without the solar.

How's it for comfort while sleeping? I love the size ... but just wondering if its comfortable during sleep.
It is comfortable. I sleep with it everyday. It’s much lighter than my previous fenix 5x. But it all depends on your sensibility to have a big watch in your wrist.
Its not bad.. i do it everynight ..however there are lighter and smaller options by garmin

@@jasonmiller9495 i like the tactix its taken some good hits and still looks practically new. Battery is lengthy, the only thing is if you prefer smaller watches it may not be the best option
Sleep Tracking is poor on the 5X plus and the 6X pro solar. The 3HR is good though.
Any tech that helps me in arguments wife my wife is a huge plus

What u need to know.....easy, stay away from Garmin, they so full of bugs and software errors that it’s a shame. Guess they use the same program people as Boing. A really shit company, both of them.
