Fantastic hunt Adam. The Legend definitely looks like thats my next upgrade from what I have at the moment. Looking forward for when you have a good hunt on the old stuff when you get the chance. Thanks again mate. Alan
My wife got this for me for Christmas. Just got it all set up last night. 😁 looking forward to learning it. I’ve been using a vanquish 540 and before that was an at pro. Great video. Wish i could get over there to detect.
Wow great video and findings my friend! I was using the same settings and switching M1 to M2 with same results in depth. ATB for you! Greetings from Oaxaca, México
Hi Adam I think full silver was until 1922 then half until 1946 as I remember I may be wrong. Great videos I have a deus 1 and haven’t detected in years as I lost my farm permission. But visit a friend in Weymouth and am thinking of a multi frequency machine for the beach.
Seriously, I very much enjoy your vids. I use the Legend here on Prince Edward Island. Love it. Take care. Keep’em coming. Traaaa from Digger Al on PEI 😊
Thanks Adam awesome hunt!. Love the legend its been a superb machine for me. I definitely feel I got more then I paid for from Nokta and don't feel foolish buying an overpriced 1000+$ canteen.
And these are a rugged machine. If you're tough on detectors like I am you'll find out how much of a deal it really is if you spend some time to get out to a site and it doesn't break down on you and you have to watch your buddy clean up because he's not leaving the honey hole you found quite yet and he drove you guys there so failing is not an option. And by failing I mean leaking also
Thanks 😊 I'm still experimenting with it at the moment. The lower it is the more chance iron will ring up as non-ferrous so I'm trying high and low settings over time to see how it affects things 😎👍
Damn at that depth I don't think you need to worry about any settings like iron filter or recovery speed causing loss of anything. It appears that the Legend pairs with this coil quite nicely.
I showed it as best I could in the video...you heard the sound whilst it was still buried and saw the hole it came out of. I couldn't film all the digging...it took over 20 mins.
Hi Francois, I displayed the settings at the start of the video. It takes too long to read them all aloud...many people tell me they lose interest when I do that...plus I usually miss something out 😅 I'm getting much more positive responses to the holographic display. The settings were: Coil: LG30 Mode: Field Frequency set: M1 Sensitivity: 25 Recovery: 4 Stability: 4 IF: 8 BC and GC both 0
There's no right or wrong...every location and set of conditions is different. It's all about experimenting and learning to tweak it for your own situation 😎
@@DTEKTSUSSEX Gahh damnit! Ill still enjoy watching it though. Also, I found a 17th century coin in my garden a couple days ago but just tested positive with covid so i hope i havent infected it lol
Hi Adam, I can't understand how the iron filter works. I met you briefly on the hayling detect dig recently and you said that it's scale of 1-9 worked 'upside down' . What is the purpose of the filter? Eg if it helps to unmask cobs hidden under iron, then why wouldn't we use it on full (0?) all the time? Or does it reduce depth?
Hi John, I'm so glad you commented because you're the only person I've spoken to that I didn't have a reliable way to contact! So, the manual is at best confusing and, possibly, wrong. I've been speaking with my contacts at Nokta because half the people I see think it's one way and the other half think it's the other. Long story short...I got it wrong. I did issue corrections on the channel and social media and contacted as many people as I could to correct it. So...8 is full Iron Filter...meaning that the machine will favour non-ferrous metals. Good for unmasking and for beginners, however it can create false signals and other instabilities to have it on all the way. Moving down the scale reduces the filtering. Going too far down will risk causing iron to sound like a non-ferrous target. Best advice is to stay somewhere in the middle (3-6). Hope that makes some more sense.
@@DTEKTSUSSEX Thanks for getting back to me, Adam. Yes, it's tricky to get my head around. Interesting that when Nokta introduced it in v 1.09 (?), they set it to a default of 8 which they said was the equivalent of what the Legend was set at in v 1.07 before they added this ability to take it down to zero. So all of the Legends before must have simply been focussed on favouring non ferrous metals. I like your comment which says when it is useful : unmasking and beginners. So when might you want to keep targets masked I wonder? ... If you are getting false signals all the time, it might be worth moving it down a bit? Would it reduce the very loud signals we get from horseshoes for example, or the halo effect of rust in the soil if we brought down the IF to 4 or 5.
It really depends on the land you're on. If you have a lot of iron targets then raising the IF will locate more non-ferrous objects in and around the ferrous. On the other hand, if your land is sparse on iron, you don't need to unmask objects so much so reducing the filter will give you the greater benefit...reducing the chance of falsing etc.
@@DTEKTSUSSEX It seems as if it must be a fine-tuning for the Recovery speed. 10 recov speed separates signals that are close together but is shallower depth, 0 recov sp less separation, but deeper?
It's not recovery speed. The problem with masking isn't the proximity between the iron and the other target. It's that the iron signal overpowers the other target. A bit like a bird trying to be heard over a fog-horn. Detectors will always favour ferrous targets. The filter is a way for the machine to intelligently turn down the iron signals and boost the non-ferrous ones.
Hi Rick, Nothing announced as yet. They tend to announce things like this when they've decided on it so I'll probably hear the same time as you. Exciting times!
Hi Nick, It confused me to begin with as well so don't worry! 8 is the way the machine was before the IF setting was added. What isn't 100% clear is that the machine was already filtering iron before the setting was added. So, rather than adding an Iron Filter, Nokta actually added an Iron Filter control. So 8 is on fully and as you move down in numbers the filtering reduces. Hope that helps 😊👍

Makes a positive difference.
Not really. I understand the reason for doing it and that it helps some. It's never really been something I felt I needed to do beyond trying it out.
