Oh no, not just you, I'm a young dude and that was, in a subtle way, really moving. Ultimately, we're all doing this for the kids, whether in Gaza or in our own homes.
Grim's job is to smear real leftists ,muddy the waters for criticisms of the Oligarchy from the left and run cover for fake progressives in Congress. And those are his good points.
I live in Michigan and voted uncommitted in the democratic primary. The narrative of “it’s just the Arab Americans who are upset about the Palestinians, and the young” drove me crazy (I’m 62 and know many older people who are also shocked and frustrated about the genocide.)
P.S. unlike Jeremy, I feel completely comfortable saying there was no rape by any Hamas soldier (i.e., the al Qassam brigade) on Oct 7 (though I leave open the theoretical but still unlikely possibility that the random unaffiliated Palestinians who came through the fence after Hamas went through could have engaged in some such act that has never been reported or physical evidence discovered). The reason why I'm comfortable in making that assessment despite the prevalence of sexual violence in war zones is that such violence occurs most often during occupations as well as from troops who are undisciplined. Hamas executed one of the most successful and daring military raids against a technologically superior foe, quickly achieving their objective of taking high value military prisoners and returning to Gaza. Hamas would argue that they are religious men and wouldn't rape, but I think it's more salient that they are disciplined troops who had no time for rape as that would interfere in the execution of their mission which they clearly did achieve on Oct. 7. Any regular viewer of the Electronic Intifada's weekly live streams knows from Jon Elmer's resistance report know that the Qassam fighters show disciplined command and control during their guerrilla operations, while the IDF is constantly showing undisciplined behavior that not only leads to brutalization of civilians ("I'm bored so I shoot" in the words of one IDF soldier) but often to their own deaths as they shave in open windows, and other examples of poor military discipline, thus providing excellent targets for Hamas and Islamic Jihad snipers. Even though the IDF excels at killing unarmed civilians, in 9 months, they haven't significantly degraded Hamas' al Qassam fighters or the Islamic Jihad's fighters while suffering significant casualties and loss of armored vehicles. Israel constantly inflates the number of Hamas fighters they've killed by counting any male civilian that they killed as if they were Hamas fighters. While one can deduce their lack of success by the fact that they keep returning to areas in Gaze that they say they've pacified (The majority of the civilian hostages were taken by the other groups that followed Hamas past the fence - this is demonstrated by the first prisoner swap when Hamas needed extra time to contact and coordinate with the other groups as they didn't initially know where all of those people were being held.) it's not a coincidence that the Israeli forces are exactly that kind of undisciplined army where a high number of sexual assaults are reported by civilians who have made it out alive out of Israeli prisons. Meanwhile, on the Israeli hostage side, there has only been one claim (6 months after the fact) by an Israeli released hostage that she suffered a singular unspecified sexual assault of some kind done by a captor after Oct 7. Every other Israeli hostage has reported they weren't mistreated while being captive.
This is exactly my view. Well detailed. The exploitation of dead women’s bodies to manufacture consent for every imaginable atrocity, to further endanger all civilians in warzones, etc etc leaves me in a feminist rage whenever I think about it..

Yes it's definitely not being recommended to anyone but has spread incredibly quickly by word of mouth, I'm always surprised by how many people I meet online and irl who are regular listeners. And keep in mind, the podcast is less than a year old and much of its audience listens solely through podcast apps like Spotify instead of on TH-cam since most people don't have YT premium accounts that allow them to listen with their screens turned off so the subscriber number on this particular platform is only a fraction of their actual listeners and their YT channel hasn't had years to accumulate subscribers like a lot of more established alternative media channels have had on here. A year from now their YT numbers will likely be in the hundreds of thousands.
If you look at the number of views for each episode, it usually ends up exceeding the total number of subscribers for the channel within a week or two of being released. This indicates that a lot of people are also listening regularly but aren't signed into a youtube account at all, which is a surprisingly common practice for people who are able to open up an episode in a separate browser tab and have it playing in the background while they're working on their computer at home or in their office.
