Great idea and very informative. Back in the 1960s, Japan made a business case to invest in high speed trains. Why have we in the UK, not learnt from them and bought their technology. Instead, the UK can not decide if we want high speed trains, and continues to re-invent the wheel and go for new technology that quite frankly does not achieve the required results or standards.
Very entertaining - thank you! 👍 _When other regions were introducing their DMMUs, the Southern's DEMUs were originally rated at 90mph. The normal maximun line speed for the BR Southern electrics reached 90mph with sections at 100mph - although after that propogation of the conrail becomes an issue (I believe there are now a few sections at 110mph). Notwithstanding, high-speed electrical tests were undertaken with 4 REP units between 1981/82 with a colleague travelling on board reporting 130mph being exceeded...._
Screw anyone that makes fun of your hobby, including me in the past.... The amount of time and effort that's gone into creating your train setup is amazing! I'm not even into trains, Dr Beaching killed my local access long before I was born, but this was cool to watch. Thanks for sharing this with the world. EDIT: Just wanted to add that I hope the new government reinstate HS2, just for the benefits of capacity. They should have called it ExtraCapacity2 or used some marketing Wizardry and called it 21st Century Rail or Rebuilding The Network. A lot of objections would have faded away.
Hi there that was a really interesting video thanks 👍
Glad you enjoyed it

That is fast. I did not realise. Kind regards. Philip
That was very impressive. Even as a model to be able to compare the different trains almost as good as the real thing.
Thankyou. I am glad that you enjoyed it, kind regards, Philip

It is such a shame that the costs got out of control. Thanks. Regards. Philip
Yes trains should be running faster in today's age
It's sad . Kind regards. Philip
