Great to see you've got a JCB. Every home should have one. I've got an almost identical one, except it has shuttle transmission and is a non turbo. As well as digging, I find the backhoe useful as a crane for moving big stones around, putting beams onto shed roofs and lifting engines out of dumper trucks. Spares availability is excellent even for older models. You'll have loads of fun.
Best of luck with the door, I tried to get one several years ago, and even the second hand ones were unavailable. I have seen 3CXs advertised for 13k, but that advert has been over three years , and no buyers yet.
@@hiscifi2986 managed to get a door for £225 new off a local plant glazing firm… they actually had one in stock. Paid £7k for the machine no vat so I’m happy at that
Quite handy to have a big strong hand on wheels around. As you've said you have experience with these engines. Any ideas why mine would start and then die ? Cleaned fuel tank, separator, mesh on primary pump, main filter, new hydraulic pair in the pump, injectors rebuilt, one way valve on the pump is newish so is the magnetic valve. It sits day, starts instantly and then loses cylinders after couple seconds. Not getting any fuel to injectors when disconnected. But there is plenty of fuel at the input of the pump. Hand pumping while starting does nothing so does not starting fluid. I have no idea, something stupidly simple happened. Previously it had pieces of sealant floating in tank from somebody sealing inspection cover and that would block fuel instantly.
In great order for age & obviously been put n shed when not in use, great model & parts should be easily available on one of the sites.great purchase.id say price you paid was around 3-4 grand.maybe a bit more.these are the Swiss Army knife but for works etc.good luck mate with you're new investment 👍
I’ve bought a1987 model without the turbo for 8k but have spent 5k on it doing a major service and getting everything working… mine is fabulous now and so useful I thinkyou gave 12k to get this one? Well worth the investment.. a really useful piece of kit!

One of the best machines ever made, still a very capable machine, an asset. would be nice to see it kept in a shed, and every now and again given some basic attention. I would be proud to be its custodian, as to value £8500.
@@nautilus1872 it’ll be under cover just shortly, just need to make room for it. Paid £7,000 for it and I’m allowing about £1,000 for immediate spending such as a door, new battery, filters and some new hydraulic oil
