Hi Crew,My Dad was a top 3c/3cx op and used to take me to work at every opportunity teaching me to operate from age 7 around 1977 up to Harry’s age..it’s so heart warming to see youngsters like Harry smashing life with the help of those around nurturing and encouraging him. He is a lucky lad to grow up in such a fantastic environment. Yet another great chapter. Thanks
It's great to see a young man keen to work on machines rather than sit and play computer games. We need a lot more like Harry in the industry. Those expander pins are just a game changer for fitters. A one man job and lasts the entirety of the machine, plus can be fitted on sites.👍
Very few young lads like Harry he is a true rarity these days , nice to see the Director out and about and Baz those Expander pins are on another level its allso nice to Cal out as well and most of all it wasn't raining .
What a brilliant idea those expander pins are , fast turnaround for your customers and as long as the correct torque is kept should give a good service life
Howdy A-Team. Them expander pins are bloody brilliant , and that slide hammer kit. Young Harry is a up coming star . A potential team member lol . Great mid week video, tight up my street a bit of plant. Thanks all 👍👍
Always a great informative video guys. Harry is amazing for 14 another wonderful talent. Thank you Baz ,Cal and Director, will look forward to Saturday's video.❤
Great little video that, them sleeves look ace gonna make pin changes so much quicker. That machine driver, only 14 excellent control knew exactly what he was doing
Assuming the bushings for the expander pins are softer than the pin itself, the pin looks like it’d last half of forever. The bushings could be slotted like an ER type machine tool collet to allow for a greater adjustment range, but I expect they’re the way they are for a reason I don’t understand yet.
Hi Welderfabber hope you’re well, what a great lad the way he threw that jcb about.Yet another great fix with the expander pins.Well done and a great video.
Aup Baz, great content, them pins are awesome if I where fitting them I'd mark them at 12 O clock with a sharpie so you have visual. Like you can't wait to see them on a larger machine 👍🙂😎
We tried somthing simular to the expander pin back in the 1980s. Did'nt have any luck with the system that was around then. The pin will not help centre of bore wear only outer bore wear. We went back to line boring . Yes weld and line bore is slower however it brings the machine back to factory spec and outlasts the pin system. Just my experience. cheers from Australia. ps. really enjoy the vidios.
We owned one of those 3CX 4WD Sitemasters with an extendahoe. Not durable machines. Valves leaked. Engine overheated. Electrics quickly developed faults. More suited for farm work than construction work. We bought it because it was 50% cheaper than CAT/Deere/Case - we paid what it was worth. That said, we got a lot of work out of it, but it was a pile of junk after 5 years - so many issues that we stopped fixing anything that wasn't critical for work.
That pin system is pretty cool tech. I wish we had those years ago. Would have made simple repairs and avoid further damage because no one wants to go with the cost and time of having someone come out with a line bore system.
Teenage kids were running around back in the 90's with Slide-Hammers robbing cars. Used them as Barrel-Poppers to pull ignitions out and locks outta doors. Ain't new like lol.
Those pins are a real time saver and time is money. Are they much more expensive than having to line bore plus new bushes plus shop rate? Down time is costly, that must be calculated in the cost. What an advantage that lad has at age 14, he will do well. How is your son doing? Cheers from 🇨🇦
Vicars plant spares would supply every pin and Bush and shims etc for that machine for less than 2grand but you would need baz to line bore any worn holes and get wee father to make oversize bushes for bored holes
Have you ever seen the slide sledge. It’s an American idea. Expensive so I made a poor man’s version from some tube and 35mm bar. More accurate than the sledge hammer and drift. Great video. 👍
Ye are brillant it's not a good week unless we have the welderfabber absolutely the best man out there Baz stig Callum Dan the whole team yere brillant
I fookin love watching your videos baz Very educational. Shout out to ... I J K Scrap metal Manchester I've one ur stickers on back of car guy who works there noticed it right away 😅 the 3 Amigos known everywhere ❤
I drove an old Hymac 580c in the early 70s didn’t bother with all that re bushing bollocks. Fourteen pound sledge with a bit of slightly over size sheet pile tie rod did the trick.
We all love a midweek Welderfabber video. Keep up the good work Baz, Cal and The Director. Those expander pins are a game changer such a simple idea that makes the job easier.
Great vid again nice to see something different ❤3cx operators are few and far between now day infact I would like to see a moden day machine driver jump in one of these spin that chair to back ho and pull them controls and think mmmm these are back to front lol if you know u know 😅
Only thing I dont understand is how come the Expander pins are so expensive? What we got quoted for our Hitachi 130 it was touch and go for reboring so we went old school
Baz there is a company called Nike hydraulic they have 18 ton hydraulic press that just plug up to your compressor prefect for doing spring eye bushes on 8 wheels worth having a look mate 🤙 cal hope you enjoy the holiday mate still waiting for that shout out I asked for on messenger 😂
Them expander pins are the best thing since sliced bread , I once got the biggest bollocking of my life for putting my finger in a truck leaf spring and the shackel.

Go on Harry!!! What a lad, showing us how it's done👍
them pins will only ever be as good as the people maintaining the machines, nice work there Harry boy !

What a lad Harry is
The expander pins are a good idea but remember they are dry when fitted and grease should be put in before working.
Those pins are a real time saver and time is money. Are they much more expensive than having to line bore plus new bushes plus shop rate? Down time is costly, that must be calculated in the cost. What an advantage that lad has at age 14, he will do well. How is your son doing? Cheers from 🇨🇦
Another fantastic video BAZ

Any problems with the expander nuts coming loose over time?

That slide hammer seem to have work a treat tbf 👍
Them expander pins are the same idea as the pins in the brokk machines
Go wann WF and the team yas are right ones 🍻
Baz sign Harry up whata mon
Nice, but 8.8! thought it would be at least 10.9 grade bolt.
Doesn’t seem right to me, just 8.8 bolts in an application like that . . .
Write the tourqe setting above each pin for the bolt size
Can you get these Expander Pins State side?
Why are welders doing a fitters job :')
Them expander pins are the best thing since sliced bread , I once got the biggest bollocking of my life for putting my finger in a truck leaf spring and the shackel.
Is it a British invention !!
Can't believe im first 🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂
It would be a shame to ding up the paint on the finished machine, but then it’d be a shame not to.
baz out of interest why dont you like discussing prices on camera ? it would be interesting to know
Its a 4 cx
Never under the power of a taper; That it a game changer Baz {fletch}
31:42 It was at this moment Callum knew that he had Fucked up hahaha, not picking on ya bud, just havin a laff 🙂
