not gonna lie discovered you during the our leafs series last year, and as much as people come here for the Schadenfreude (?) I find you a real honest hockey guy and appreciate you. As a Panthers fan who saw david booth and weiss targeted for years with no protection from the league, I would be beyond shocked to see anything come from this, and this is why I have no problem finally having guys on the team that walk that line. With that said, I expect this team to focus on the play on the ice, we spent the boston series laughing at them wasting energy trying to pick fights for a guy that got out cheap shotted for once in his career. It cost them the series, Barkov is not marchand, if anyone deserves a revenge campaign is him, but the whole team knows he'd rather have the cup than an injured foe, and that's what the team will do.
I'll answer your Barkov fight question like this: in 11 seasons he averages 13.5 pim per season. 3 times he had 8 total. In 2018-19 he had 8 in 82 GP and won the Lady Byng.
Even without Barkov and if they let Draisaitl play, the Panthers are still deeper than the Oilers. The oilers go 2 lines deep before it falls off the face of the earth. I still say the panthers take at least one in Edmonton, and come home to win it with a healthy Sasha.
In reality this should have been a Dallas-Florida final….the way Edmonton is playing isn’t sustainable and it’s showing now. I suspect Edmonton might win a game, but I feel like Florida wants to win the cup in Edmonton, just like Tampa did a few years earlier. 😂 Fun fact: No Canadian team will ever win the cup again until the Leafs break their curse. So everyone should be cheering on the Leafs to do something.
im 50/50 on it. i think maybe panthers drop gm3 or 4 just to win the cup at home. but also if they happen to win gm3 yeah maybe just for extra salt take gm4 for the cup at edmonton.
I might have some bias as a Panthers fan, but NHL safety is playing with fire here. I don't want to see McDavid getting headhunted just as much as I didn't want to see that for Barkov. But when a player is allowed to make a very dirty hit against, objectively, the best player on the other team, and NOTHING is done about it? That's sending out a dangerous message. Such a stupid ass play by Draisaitl. From an Oilers perspective, not only is it putting a target on Draisaitl himself, but every other player especially McDavid himself as well. Barkov will be back for game 3, Draisaitl should get at least 1 game, maybe 2 games for the intent to injure on the hit. Thats why the refs deliberated so long. "Because its draisaitl we cant". Bs. Basically rules dont apply to stars, we all know that unfortunately. 2 game suspension or its favouritism. Period.
Barkov and Luostarinen just played up the hits to make it seem they were more injured than they were to get harsher penalties against the Oilers. Luos was back for his next shift after playing dead, but got Foegele kicked out of the game and a 5 min penalty, and Barkov sat out rest of game cause they were up hoping to draw a suspension against Draisaitl.
Edmonton is a disgrace to hockey. They got dominated by a better team, and their response was let’s injure some players. If the league doesn’t suspend, this series is gonna turn into a goon fest

Yeah steve is just way off base here, Drai needs to eat a game at least for that, more if barky is out. No excuse just because he's a star and oil haven't made finals for a while.

None of these guys would even fight, especially Kane, the biggest instigator, did you see him going after Mikkola, that dude isn't fighting. I think for as long as the Panthers have a lead and even a chance to win a game, they won't do much even if Barkov is out and Draisailt isn't suspended, but oh boy if Edmonton is running away with game 3, you bet Draisailt will be a target and McDavid as well, because what is a game misconduct to a 4th liner when you are losing anyways and targeting stars doesn't lead to suspensions.
11:50 he did not say that in a joking matter he was PISSED
Barkov is going to play even if his jaw was broken. He’ll wear a cage and be amazing. He really wants that cup.
But thats why its scary when the talk is about next 24 hours and how he has not gotten worse. So clearly it indicates that they are suspecting concussion. But of course its the playoffs so they give as little info as possible.
not gonna lie discovered you during the our leafs series last year, and as much as people come here for the Schadenfreude (?) I find you a real honest hockey guy and appreciate you.
I won’t lie, I wish more than ever now that the stars made the cup finals…
Same
It turns out the Western Conference just isn't that good.
stars or canucks. Better than these low testosterone Coilers
@@JVCJ42 Some teams are, avs, knights, stars (if otter isn't playing bad), but the rest is pretty meh when it comes to playoff hockey.
@@paulthompson8793that conference doesn’t compare to the Eastern Conference
I'll answer your Barkov fight question like this: in 11 seasons he averages 13.5 pim per season. 3 times he had 8 total. In 2018-19 he had 8 in 82 GP and won the Lady Byng.
Even without Barkov and if they let Draisaitl play, the Panthers are still deeper than the Oilers. The oilers go 2 lines deep before it falls off the face of the earth. I still say the panthers take at least one in Edmonton, and come home to win it with a healthy Sasha.
series is going just as i expected...basically st louis 2019.
In reality this should have been a Dallas-Florida final….the way Edmonton is playing isn’t sustainable and it’s showing now. I suspect Edmonton might win a game, but I feel like Florida wants to win the cup in Edmonton, just like Tampa did a few years earlier. 😂
Fun fact: No Canadian team will ever win the cup again until the Leafs break their curse.
It's a horrible way to get into the other teams head and it can easily backfire if the Panthers decide to take matters into their own hands.
I guess Luostarinen and Barkov don't play in game 3. Lomberg and Counsins are in.
As a Habs fan, this is giving me big flashbacks to Habs vs Tampa for no reason at all other than Canada vs the State of Florida
Rodriguez is a player i wish the Avs coulda kept.

Why put the final score in the title? Cant watch the game live and love my morning catch-up with NHL and your chanel. :)
The undertaker conparison caught me off guard 😂😂
They should suspend Leon for his own safety. Literally.
Draisitl has some answering to do from the boys. Let me get my popcorn for the fireworks
It just now occurred to me that double minors are supposed to be assessed when the infraction causes injury, so clearly Draisaitl should've gotten at least a double minor if not a major, right? Or is a concussion less of an injury than a tiny cut on the lip?
What about the Bennet hit on Marchand?

11:45 I officially love Paul Maurice!!!
If I were the Oilers, I would pray that Barkov is fine. Because if he is not. I'm getting flashbacks of the Canucks v. Bruins. The panthers are already up 2. I had this going 5 or 6. But now that Draisaidl poked the Beast, not sure the Panthers are going to take that lieing down. They were asleep game 1, awake game 2, now coming into game 3 you pissed in their cheerios. Panthers may just sweep the Oilies now.
Remember when the golden child said goaltending was the problem in one of the previous series. Well Skinner should says the same thing
I am so glad Lundell never became a stars player. He feels like a stars player and I felt it since the draft....
I was just wondering when this would drop! 🔥
Did you watch the game Steve? That was Draisaitl with Ekholm for the 2 on 1. McDavid passed it under pressure to Ekholm for the break out.
Draisaitl better have his head on a swivel cuz you can bet Tkachuk is gonna hunt him down
I don't think it'll be Tkachuk, because it'll be someone that Florida won't worry about being suspended. However, I do expect Tkachuk to try to get a solid hit on Leon or Connor, like he blew up Eichel on the blue line hit, last year.
What did you think of the Ekblad chokehold on Bouchard and Bouchard tapping out like they're in UFC? Thought it deserved a mention, don't see that in most NHL games.
This game was crazy cause unless I missed it, I don't think you mentioned ekblad putting Bouchard in an actual choke hold type headlock lol
Watch those knees, Leon.
Drai needs to eat a game , no matter what happens to Barkov, if barky is out drai needs to also sit for as long.
Steve repping the EIHL in his Braehead Clan jersey, now Glasgow Clan.
Barkov will be back for game 3, Draisaitl should get at least 1 game, maybe 2 games for the intent to injure on the hit.
With more "main stream" eyes on this series, and more investment from the outside of the NHL coming in, this will not look good.
This series is over. Maybe not a Panthers sweep, but Panthers in at most 5.
You nailed it
wouldnt it be nice if the panthers swept the coilers though? Panthers got destroyed by the avs in a 4-0 sweep 30 years ago, wouldnt it be fitting if they swept the coilers like that?
@@pilotamurorei No it wouldn’t. I’m an Oilers fan, but I think a sweep in the finals is pretty anti-climatic no matter who’s playing. Especially with that week off in between rounds. It’s a damn shame that one team showed up to play in the cup final, while the other is playing like it’s a beer league.
As much as I love the Oilers, this is their swan song. Most likely the last shot at a cup with Draisaitl and McDavid.
@@dakkysmurf
McJesus doesnt save.
@@pilotamurorei we had nearly 10 years now to build around him and failed on repeat. The teams success isn’t on McDavid, Ekholm, or Draisaitl. It’s about management not being able to build around them.
If Edmonton Oilers get a big lead in game 3, pandemonium
love the clan jersey but who is on the back?
Steve, you are the best analyst ...
Draisaitl - dead man skating.
Yeah who got checked were the Oilers and there annoying fans. Panthers now in the last 4 games against the Oilers have out scored them 20-5. Who has the better offense and defense?? Yeah that would be the Panthers. Let’s bring that cup to Miami/Fort Lauderdale.
Let’s go Panthers 🐆!!
The Oilers have always been dirty. Watch their run in the playoffs last year. When they get frustrated because the other teams are not playing like it's early October, the Oilers start throwing elbows and sticks around.
And love em for it. You think florida or tampa or boston or st.louis, the list goes on and on, got far cause they were clean teams.
@@matthewrobar8083 we've had clean teams go far. We've had clean teams win.
Hard nose teams are great. Dirty teams are fucking trash. Edmonton played dirty last game. Fucking shame to watch.
@@cousinpatsey2471 name one. EVERY team has a few to do the dirty things. If you went through the list of Champs over whatever time they all had those guys. The last "clean" team I can think of was the 08 wings. MAYBE colorado a few years ago.
@matthewrobar8083 2016/17 Penguins. Who was dirty on that team? Kunitz? Hornqvist? Ian Cole?
Edmonton is a cinderella team, not a powerhouse
They are better than a Cinderella team. But I agree not a powerhouse.
It's bot even just Leon who is in deep shit if Sasha doesn't play and he does. Barkov is Floridas main guy so they will level the playing field by going after Oilers main guy. McDavid will have to use all that speed to just skate away from opposition instead of playing hockey if that scenario come up.
Well now the Oilers made the Panthers mad. If I haven’t already lost all respect towards Draisaitl, I lost even more respect for him now.
So the Oilers are getting upset, and it's only game two. They thought getting past the Kings, Canucks, and Stars was tough. I can tell you this series is over if the Oilers try to play bully puck. The Panthers have been built under Maurice to play that way .
The difference is that the Panthers have talent along with that thug personality. Their style works anywhere. La Bomba isn't going to intimidate them, and now they have a target.
The Florida Panthers are going to bury Drai alive like he's Mankind burying The Undertaker alive.
drai is a bum, too slow, can't shoot, just flash in the pan, mcjesus does all the work!
steve's takes are pretty on point. outside of anything related to the leafs :)
Seems like the Panthers are not to be denied. 1 goal against in two games? This is coaching for the playoffs.
Draisaitl needs to be suspended. Its not negotiable. Dont care that hes a star. He intended to hurt barkov. If u swap names on the back with an average player. He gets a major and a game. Thats why the refs deliberated so long. "Because its draisaitl we cant". Bs. Basically rules dont apply to stars, we all know that unfortunately. 2 game suspension or its favouritism. Period.
Glasgow Clan shirt! Nice Steve!👍
The Edmonton Head Hunters cant even cheap shot their way to winning one against the Panthers.
Missed the family jewel check
I believe there was a minor fine for that. So he just wrote a blank check said keep it open.
Even if Barkov doesn't play in game 3 the Panthers still have 2 really good centers. How many good centers Oilers have?
Edmonton is a disgrace to hockey. They got dominated by a better team, and their response was let’s injure some players. If the league doesn’t suspend, this series is gonna turn into a goon fest
The justification for not suspending Drai is that the league loves the Oilers and in particular McDrai. And look at that, not even a fine. Garbage league.
If Barkov is seriously injured. Drai will be carried out in a stretcher in game 3
😂
Let's hope so.
Why cause ol' glass jaw Barkov can't take a hit? 😭
@@ryoguy3236when McDavid takes that hit, I'm coming back to ask what you think about it.

I would not be surprised if Gadjovich somehow makes Panthers roster for game 3
why do your videos look like theyre 360p?
Thing is the over
Even worse theres like what four days before game 3? meaning we got four days to talk about this and I swear if it comes out tommorow that Leon (his last name's too hard for me to confidently spell lol) is suspended for both 3 and 4 Edmonton is GOING TO RIOT.
No mention of the choke hold?
If Barkov can’t play and there is no suspension, oilers better keep their heads on a swivel or you might get decapited on live TV
It wasnt 6 on 4 with the OEL delay of game, it was 5 on 3 and the Oilers still failed to score.
You’re not in trouble until you lose at home.
I guess I need to rewatch the hit on Luosterinen because I must have missed what made it dirty.
Elkholm was with Dry Spittle not McDavid on the 2 on 1
why the suspension is such a surprise? why should D get a pass just because Oilers sucked since 2006?
Canadian cope and salt.
Yeah steve is just way off base here, Drai needs to eat a game at least for that, more if barky is out. No excuse just because he's a star and oil haven't made finals for a while.
That 2 on 1 with the mattis ekholm goal that was draisital with him not mcdavid
Draisaitl should be suspended for game 3 if not long. However, since he is on the oilers and once the won best players they no discipline will happen.
The Oilers are not a very good team. They have a superstar amongst a bunch of AHL quality talent and a few goons like Drai, Perry, Kane, Fogele. None of these guys would even fight, especially Kane, the biggest instigator, did you see him going after Mikkola, that dude isn't fighting. The bottom line is that Edmonton without Mic David isn't even a playoff team. 1 goal in 2 games is embarrassing for the NHL. Vegas and Colorado would have cleaned the Oilers up in 6 just like last year.
