    The Leafs can't make a Cup Final so the Oilers decided to treat Leafs fans to a classic Leafs performance. Go down big, claw back into it with a third period comeback to give you hope and have it fizzle into nothing but despair

    finally a review that is not about how the Oilers are bad, but about how good the Panthers actually are...

      @wwpjd28 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +14

      I think Steve has been like that this entire time. He was very clear that the Oilers are a fantastic team (and probably would’ve beaten any other Eastern team pretty handedly) but that the Panthers are just something different this year. Only reaction videos I’ve been watching. Hard as an Oiler fan to see my team misrepresented by everyone. This Florida team is insane and will win a deserved cup.

    • @SirVTropic
      @SirVTropic 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +9

      @@wwpjd28 I wasn't criticizing Steve: it's just that most of the other youtuber's reviews of game 3, I have seen so far, are only focusing on "stupid" and "unforgivable" mistakes that some Oiler's players did... These reviews tend to refuse to accept that Florida forces the Oilers to make these mistakes...

    • @wwpjd28
      @wwpjd28 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@SirVTropic I agree. I didn’t think you were criticizing Steve. I thought (like you just said) that you were complementing him for seeing the quality of both teams. Oilers are an elite team with the best superstars on the planet. And the Panthers are just better. Better coached, better executed, better defense than i expected (and I knew they were insane), and a goalie playing out of his mind.

    • @thatoneskierdude4410
      @thatoneskierdude4410 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@wwpjd28 I think you're giving the Panthers a little too much credit. A lot of this is on the Oilers for screwing up. In game 1 alone Edmonton could have won *if* they had shot at bobby's weak spots. Assuming the coaching staff and players are competent enough, they should know this. Instead as you witnessed every single shot in game 1 was down low (BOBBYS STRONGEST SPOTTTT). and the oilers had a lot of scoring chances.
      i think if they were smarter about this and started going up high (as we saw more of in game 3) then more goals would be on the scoreboard. just my 2 cents.

Say your team goes for a change and the second your skates hit tye ice they score, that's a -1 on you even though you were on the ice for literally 1 second before the goa. The same thing can happen for a +1. Also if you have a goal that gives up 8 goals on 9 shots that might not be on the defense.
      Plus minus just means while Forsling is on the ice the other team is less likely to score. But while Nerus is on the ice the other team is more likely to score.

    Panthers fan here and thank you for giving credit where credit is due. Love your channel even though I'm one of the sicko's that come here after a Toronto loss. Something that was not mentioned is we have NOT lost to Edmonton all year. 6-0 Not that it matters but numbers if you know what I mean. This years Panthers are the Vegas Golden Knights of last season. We learned from that and built on it. Not many teams can say their players said they would be back and do it. In the beginning of the playoffs, IN THE BEGINNING.....we had redemption everywhere. That's a bold thing to do in the beginning of the playoffs. This team is very strong. President trophy winners to Cup losers to now this. It has been incredible to watch as a fan and I have waited 30 years for this. We are closing it out on Saturday and when we do, the Oilers need to remember that feeling like we did. There is a clip posted from time to time that shows the Panther players faces during that loss and I'm pretty sure Paul Maurice has shown it at some point this season. Anyway, keep up the good work, always fun to watch you.

They can roll 4 lines, have superstars that can score, solid top-6, really good to god-tier goaltending, and just pulverize their opponent physically. I do think they are more physical than Tampa and don't have the top dman like Hedman, but it just feels like they slightly copied that model and took a bit of Vegas with their physicality. They play such a good team game that it does remind of how Tampa would just wear down their opposition.

    Holloway on the Tarasenko goal is on the boards in case Skinner wants to reverse the puck up the boards for an outlet. It's not likely because Skinner is facing the other direction, but if FLA overloads the strong side, he's there on the weak side for the outlet. One big problem on that play is Kulak is not where he should be (in fact I think Holloway is back where he is because he's covering for Kulak.)
    I don't fault Skinner on that goal. Yeah, he bobbles it behind the net, but once again, Cody Ceci is the casual one. He's got position, he's gotta get first touch on that puck, especially when he can see Skinner having trouble with it.
