Anything other than Traxxass is great! I've been looking at these and I really like them alot from what I've seen. I'm curious about how yours will perform..... Hopefully well
Pretty well! There is one more video on this truck where I finally get to test out the upgrades, I have a playlist for the R1001 and R1011, appreciate you checking out the video!
Great video. I just got mine and I will replace the motor as well but i will use a 2300kv, which I already have. I would like to know what is that wire coming from the stock ESC and going to the rear for? Is it for the lights? I noticed you removed the ESC but didn't say anything about the wire, and I assume you didn't connect that wire again? Is the red and black wire coming from the ESC and going to the rear of the car.
I replied to the comment in the other video but in case anyone may have the same question and sees your comment, that wire that runs from the ESC to the rear of the truck is the power switch
The wire at 2:28 that runs to the back is the on off switch for the stock ESC, once you install the brushless motor (if it is Hobbywing) it is a motor and ESC in one so it has it's own power switch.
I believe they make a specific silicone oil product for the diffs. Usually you can find cheaper ones that aren’t labeled for RC. Usually they love marking them up in price once they put RC on the label.
Man I'm trying to figure out how to change the color on the lightbar. Is only white. I can change the settings on the regular lights but not the bar. I can't see when you press the light button to change the lights because is of camera.
Give me a bit and I’ll fire mine up, not at home at the moment. One of the buttons you need to hit twice in quick succession to toggle between the colors.
For the R1011 I used Super Lube 92003 Silicone Lubricating Grease with PTFE, which seems to be great and is much cheaper than "RC grease". I don't really see myself switching to anything else in the future.
Look at you go! Nice video!
Thanks, man!
great upgrades, should make a huge difference 😀😀👍👍😎
This thing is a monster now!
Great videos, I’m following along. I’ve got one of each the beluga and the wilderness (Jeep 😂).
They’re really good for the price! Makes upgrading then affordable
Awesome up-grades for a very cool RC!!!
🐼🏆🐻❄️👍🏻
Thks for the tutorial and info share!!!
Appreciate the kind words!
You're welcome my Friend!
Keep the Awesome Work
Great upgrades Corey
Thank you, Dirk!

Thanks for the video, Corey. Besides the plastic gear in the video, can you check if the transmission gears are metal or plastic?
Next time I have it open I'll let you know, but I'm guessing they're plastic
Did you have any problems with the brake and reverse light when you replaced the motor to fusion?
To be honest, I didn’t really hook the lights back up

@@YARCWest So were you able to use it after you removed the ESC?
To be clear, we're talking about the wire from the stock ESC to leads to a switch right?

@@YARCWest Ok thanks. I was just wondering if you decided to use that switch. so you ended up using the power button that comes with the motor.
Would it be possible to have silicone oil in the diffs instead of grease, or will it leak out? (Real portal axles usually have oil in them.)

Do you think the same silicone oil can be used in the portal hubs?
Of course
Let me know if it leaks, I was thinking more about this and was wondering if you might need some sort of gasket to keep it from leaking.

@@YARCWest Thanks a l ot for your reply. I played a little with it and managed to find the setting. Thanks! :)
Awesome!
What grease do you use? I was told TA black grease is good. Is it?
