- Last time I beat Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door without using any action commands, so I decided to make a follow up video taking on the Pit of 100 Trials to see if I can get through this combat dungeon with such a big restriction...

As a kid, I felt like quick change was too expensive, then I saw peril strats completely breaking open the game
I don't even use Peril/danger strats because it's really boring, but quick change is just an invaluable utility.
@@Robbie_Harunayou’re basically multiplying your utility and hp pool by six or seven. It’s SOOO worth the badge points.
I've been on a Paper Mario kick since the TTYD Remake reveal, and I have to say that your channel has some of the best TTYD content I've seen! You deserve wayyy more than 400 subs! Keep up the amazing work man!

I don't know about the newer paper mario games but what keeps me going back to the Older paper mario games (-super, but I love that game for different reasons) is the flexible badge system. it enable a lot of fun and wacky ways to play and replay the game, kinda like a built-in cheats menu from other games.
Watching both of your no action command videos makes me want to do this when the remake comes out!
Great challenge run, well done! Just wanted to point out, in case you (or others) didn't already know, that the luck badges don't stack additively, but multiplicatively - the Lucky Day's 25% chance + the Pretty Lucky's 10% chance combine to be a 32.5% chance in total.
Interesting, I always thought they stacked additively. In practice I guess the difference between 35% and 32.5% is pretty unnoticeable lol
@@BringlesCan Definitely true that 35% and 32.5% are close, but it's easily verifiable when you equip 10 Pretty Lucky badges and don't hit 100% evasion chance.
I'd highly recommend checking out Jdaster64's Super Mario Files blog, he's got all sorts of really good info about the game he's extracted from the code on there. (Maybe you could also try the no action command challenge in his Infinite Pit mod!)
probably the reason they do so is because you could technically get 10 pretty luckys from enemies and have a 100% evasion rate

Because of that possibility of accidentally going down the pipe while you're standing on it, I got into the habit of jumping off the pipe every time instead of using the directional stick...

I feel like Pianta Parlor Power Rush Ps detract from the difficulty of no action commands by making your inability to manually increase damage with good timing a non-factor. I can understand starting from low HP when necessary, but buying more than you organically find in the overworld sounds cheap.
Yeah honestly I do agree with that. From my perspective, if I didn’t have those extra Power Rush P’s I would’ve had to stock up on a lot more items (Ultra Shrooms especially) to survive all of the hits enemies would throw at me if I couldn’t kill them as fast. I didn’t think grinding 2k+ coins for Ultra Shrooms would be any less cheap, and it would’ve taken SO much longer.
I just beat the game without super guards because I never could land the timing and I guess that kind of counts is no action commands
