Thanks Sean. I too have toured wartime Ukraine and found the people exactly how you describe them. My concern is not over the possibility of victory; rather it is in the recovery afterward. I've looked into the eyes of children evacuated from Mariupol, into Dnipro; in their eyes wonder and joy had been replaced with apprehension and fear. Much has been stolen in Ukraine; the path of recovery will be dressed in demons; it is where my present interests are finding wings. Thank you for your continued and selfless efforts to spread more light into the world.
There would be no chance for recovery if russia would occupied Ukraine. Ukraine was once occupied by Nazies for years and it was very devastating for Ukrainians. That's why Ukrainians fight for freedom so fiercely.

Once again, Sean Penn finds himself on the right side of history. Qualities one might hope for in a f***ing politician: honesty, integrity, courage. Boy, a long way from "Fast Times..."...thank you, Jimmy; his decision to share the story with you is a huge compliment.

I met and worked with Sean Penn on his film Into The Wild as a background actor and when I told him I was also a film projectionist he immediately stuck his hand out to shake mine. I always appreciated that. Also digital projection killed many film projectionists job in 2013 around the world including mine but hollywood didn't care. At least Sean cared because he is a caring person and film maker. 😺😻

Sean Penn has matured in such an incredibly amazing way. But I have to say that Ukraine has taken something from him that he likely won't ever get back. There is a genuine sadness in his eyes - the kind of "look" you see in the eyes of soldiers that have seen too much firsthand. He is an amazing man. You’re right. I remember people attacking him for using a small boat to help evacuate stranded residents of NOLA after Katrina. He wasn’t trying to glorify himself or an attention hound, he was just helping people out in a deadly situation and bringing it all to the attention of the country and the world.

Let’s not forget that Sean Penn delivered supplies in New Orleans in his little motorboat after Hurricane Katrina, and was on the ground in Haiti after their earthquake and cholera epidemic. My daughter, a volunteer nurse, would run into him in the kitchen. He is a 1 in 10,000,000 kind of guy ❤❤

In light of what is happening in Israel, I am grateful for this documentary. In the United States, we are insulated from consequences of war abroad. We have short attention spans and are easily distracted. We need to be able to focus our attention on world events. That is why I believe this documentary is so important. Grateful to Mr. Penn and Jose Andres and people who have deep empathy for citizens around the world.
Unfortunately, you're right. I've noticed it's all about words and concepts and strong opinions with Americans. A war isn't words and concepts and strong opinions.

Thank you for sharing. I just watched and it's such a powerful film. This should be required homework for everyone in Congress (and the US) to watch. I think it's easy to feel removed and this really brings it home. When studying how WWII started I see far too many echoes and I do think this is quickly shaping up to be another World War if the response isn't strong and decisive. Burying our heads in the sand and refusing aid won't help any of us in the long run and will only cost so much more later.

Hi Sean I grateful for using your Talents to Support Ukraine and tell just how Brave President Zelenskyy is, I heard about this Documentary and signed up for Paramount +, to watch it. I have tried to share the story of this Documentary. I am a big fan of TH-cam for several reasons, initially it was music videos, later learning how to fix something that I didn’t know about. I watch Jimmy Buffetts live concert from Phoenix AZ. in March of 2023. Jimmy was amazing self made Artist like Yourself Sean. I mentioned this because he dedicated a song ‘He went to Paris’ to Ukraine.

What I observe is Sean’s absolute anxiety and nervousness throughout his speech, and that’s so valuable to us, Ukrainians, as he is the one who felt himself the horror we are going through. It’s beyond the fame or top news on TV, it’s just the tragedy of so many people being killed or died. We appreciate this so much, Sean, because deaths of people can’t be justified by any excuses and imaginary thinking of possible threats.
