Last year our community sponsored some Ukrainian families. I worked in a grade 4 class with one boy. Google translate is our friend. He wrote a poem about wheat, growing it and turning it into bread. He then made a picture with the blue sky and the gold earth was a wheat field. That is how I learned what the flag represents. 💙💛
This reminded us that Dave Letterman is a legend of television and we still need him. Great, great job!

Thank you for posting the episode here. It's unfortunate that this war is still ongoing and he's right, the Russian ppl have mostly just feigned ignorance whether that's out of fear or because it's the easy thing to do. Whatever the reason their leaders actions is their actions and only they can put an end to this madness. Until then we should and must continue to support Ukraine, the rise of authoritarianism is increasingly concerning because we've all forgotten that freedom is something we have to continually fight to maintain. Peace has made us complacent.

The Russians have feigned ignorance? Are you an American? Why not stop your government from its illegal war criminal invasions. Russia is fighting an empire and hegemony.
This terrible situation cannot be ignored or wished away, as if simply stopping help for Ukraine would stop Putin's aggression. It looks to me that Putin is the kind of person who would never stop until forced--sadly, tragically but really. And Zelensky and the Ukrainian people have surely shown that they are willing to use the help that is given to them to fight back--bravely and determinedly. Special thanks goes to Netflix for sharing this video.
Leave it to David to keep some sense of humor in the darkest realities. That's a good thing. Zelenskyy is a brave leader like no other. My tears, my heart and my hope go out to the good people of Ukraine.

Now, when he interviewed President Zelenskyy, it brought tears to my eyes several times to see the courage and the kindness, and, yes, the humor of President Zelenskyy. He loves his people. He loves Ukraine. I pray every day for the end of this terrible war, for the peace that Ukraine deserves. Courage, and Faith, and Wisdom I wish for President Zelenskyy and his country and people. I've been following up on the war closely till date, and this is one of the most unique, real and raw accounts of things on ground in Kyiv. Right from the subway setting, to the noisy trains disrupting the tempo of the interview, the terrified young girl trembling, and my favorite: President Zelensky himself helping David put on the translating device. Gold. This one's going into the history books. Slava Ukraini!

When I first heard about this I thought that I would have rather seen someone like Jon Stewart do this but I was mistaken. Letterman was perfect. This should be seen by everyone and I hope it wins a Peabody and an Emmy. A great and important video.
This was so well done. I was focused on it during the complete presentation. To listen to President Zelensky, how grounded he is, not delusional, level headed, and full of love for his country was a gift to this East Canadian household. We continue to financially support Ukraine regularly. 💙🇺🇦💛 💝🇨🇦

If Canada would allow tax receipts to foreign charities, after their long process of checking out if foreign charities are legitimate, then that would be a game changer for this East Canadian household. We do donate as subscribers and Patreons to Ukraine, UK, and Polish TH-cam presenters which claim they send 50% of their donations directly to the Ukraine military. These presenters that keep us updated on the war maps and strategic intellegent work of Ukraine are Denys D., Ukraine Matters, Reporting from Ukraine, Artur, Joe Blogs, Suchomimus, TVP and DW. We do feel we are doing enough and balance between direct donations and those through our registered Canadian Charity. As someone who has followed Mr. Letterman's career since the NBC morning show, I have to salute his determination to grow, as an interviewer, as a journalist, and as a human being. This took great courage and I am profoundly grateful that I got to experience this moment. I wish the people of Ukraine victory and peace, and to the warmongers, all warmongers, nothing but misery and oblivion.

I had tears and smiles. 2 comedians, both of whom have decent, perceptive and kindness within them, yet they understand just how valuable freedom is. Showing this on YT is a gift from Netflix and I was transfixed by them together with just the right touch of humor in the midst of what is truly a global issue and is so tragic. It makes one wonder. Do we need a Letterman in the White House? I ask that not as a casual matter or to be facetious. Men like Zelensky and Letterman care about ordinary persons and their asset value to freedom.

I really liked this interview. The style of it. Not to pushy, just 2 funny guys talking behind a serious backdrop. Not overly or under dramatized. DL has a way about him, you can see he really cares which comes through.

Well, if you look at just the numbers, it’s not hard to come to the conclusion that Ukraine would fall in just a couple of days.
Russia are very good at one thing… they are very good at fooling the rest of the world when it came to their military and it’s strenght.
And then you have Zelensky, a pretty new president in a situation he wasn’t trained or prepared for. So yeah, a lot of people thought he would run away as fast as possible….
Luckily that didn’t happen, and hopefully what we are seeing now is the end of the russian federation, one that hopefully ends with Putin hanging from a lightpost like Mussolini!

Mr. Zelensky is spot on about humour and its importance.
It keeps your humanity, releases tension, helps us to focus on the necessary.
I've always said there is a great similarity between Ukrainian and British humour - dark, dry, sometimes sarcastic.
At a personal level, it's what got us through WW2 despite the overwhelming odds. Their humour will help the Ukrainian people to get through this too, just as it did us, with the help of its allies, especially the USA. Glory to Ukraine. Respect to America. 🙂

Zelensky is Biden's best and highest paid project. And the death of all Russians and Ukrainians was paid for from the same wallet. If America did not put pressure on the leadership of Ukraine and the Minsk agreements would have been accepted, then there would be peace in Russia and Ukraine, and stability in Europe.
People forget that Zelenskyy also has a law degree. He is well educated and knows how to think. He was never just straight up comedian, even if he is a very good one.
He was also the founder and top manager of his own media company. Which is the biggest in the post Soviet countries.

Yes, this. I was reminded of that when he talked about Russia someday complying with international law again, and when he said it was important to remember one’s humanity and not commit war crimes no matter how much you hate the enemy.
People who support Russia accuse him of corruption but he was wealthy before he was President. He seems very humble to me.
@@robertp.3351 The corruption they were reporting on was because of the National Prosecutor at the time and his ties to a Russian-Ukranian Oligarch tied to the Kremlin. Zelenskyy was trying to get him fired. He eventually did lose his job. The U.S. was withholding some aid until he was fired.
All Ukrainians really appreciate support of all democratic world!

I'm in the USA, very far from Ukraine but I feel like we are democracy brothers. I live just 30 minutes from where HIMARS are built. I feel that we are helping and that direct donations to the Ukraine military are investments to the future of democracy everywhere.

I love how respectful Dave was.
The man standing in the middle of the destroyed buildings playing Bach on a Cello gave me goosebumps. So sad that the whole world forgot about this and went on with their lives.
Ps: The piece he is playing is the Prelude from Bachs 5th Cello suite in C minor if anyone is curious. The Cello suites are incredible and if you love classical, I highly recommend you check them out.
That is why it is critical to talk about the war as much as possible to everyone. especially those who think it is okay to forget or put the war aside.
I am so glad Dave did this. He holds a masterclass in interviewing and there is no one anywhere that could have done it better. The arrangement with lighthearted interludes and side interviews was sheer greatness.

Russia entered ukraine💩 with 60.000 Russians, 40.000 men from caucasus region, 100.000 Donbass militia +300,000 partial mobilization in a year. ukraine💩met them with 600,000 active personnel + around 50.000 mercenaries and volunteers, + 5 waves of total mobilization around 3.000.000 ppl + whole "collective west" is supplying them with intellegence, weapon, ammubition etc. Obviously you are dumb, but even you can strain your brains and make some conlusion about whos performing better.

Politics is not about digree, but connections with powerful ppl and expirience in management. Politicians either inherit it from their powerful mentors or parents etc who teach them and integrate them into the system their whole lives or gain it hard way thoughout their lives since they are students. They become a head of a town then a mayor of a city etc. This "president" did none of those. This dude was a comedian his whole life.
