    Thanks for sharing the story! I had a very similar experience, and until this day, I think I didn't get fired because I was only an intern.
    Although knowing my boss wasn't mad at me, I figured out later that I've never fully regained his trust.
    My saddest day as an intern

      haha, that's probably not the reason - being an intern/ early in the career, we probably spend more than 50% of our time worried about being fired

    Hey Angie, I got to know you because youtube logarithm send your McK experience sharing to me!
    I would say I love your authenticity, your thoughtful sharing and always straight to the point too!
    Hope there will be more storytelling like this. I feel this is so much closer to reality rather than keep it at the high level and/or just a context that widely acceptable by public.
    Thanks for making this video. Have a great CNY celebration 😄

      Lol that is not leadership at all man, I hope that was sarcasm. This is not how good leader give constructive feedback, that too on first mistake.

    Why is he only giving you 1 evening's notice to prepare for a supposedly super important meeting? Poor management and organisation on his part! I wouldn't work for any manager who dumps on his team rather than empowering them.

    • @missangielu
      @missangielu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Due to the nature of the project (it's usually extremely short with lots of scope), it's always high stress and tight timelines

      @@missangielu External clients can be ridiculous in terms of demands but I still thinks its poor management at the McKinsey end as they should either be pushing back or hiring more staff. Either that or cut your salary and give you a better quality of life. Choose your own poison 🙂

      Actually quiet contrary, I still believe in general, mckinsey has a really nice and supportive environment

      @@missangielu Drank the MBB cool aid? Although there was great mentorship, nobody should deliver feedback that way. It's emotionally manipulative, hyperbolic, and not constructive. Alternative -- "I've noticed some areas in your work that I want to help you with. If you improve in these dimensions, the path toward promotion will be much smoother."
