I dont think even manhwa only readors really get how much ORV gets better as you read it, because the manhwa STILL IS on the building stage!! Personally I see the arc we are right now as the last "building" one, after we get some more BIG world building then we REALLY get to see shit go down. Most complaints I see from manhwa readers are dealt with later into the story. And while thats one of the biggest qualities of the novel, the way it builds itself in such a good and fun way, and in the end hits you with the absolute destruction of a steel chair that is the ending + epilogue, I do think it will also hurt the anime, like a LOT. Not only because of what was said in the video, as people will drop the anime for finding it repetitive or unoriginal, but because in today's market I find it hard to see a studio making such a long, multiple seasons show. I really fear what might be cut, as it might not seem but SO MUCH of what a manhwa only reader might think is filler IS NOT, and is actually important to really solidifying the steel chair of it's conclusion. Either way, i WILL use the anime as a gateway drug to get others to read the novel, so I do win either way >:))
The current manhwa arc is the most interesting out of them all, like I dropped at the Demon sacrifice/sanctuary city arc and waited for new chapters to pile up
I think what will make ORV Anime more hyped is the novel and the Manhwa fans themselves. Either way, every Anime has its moments to shine so, I don't think that will be a big issue.
There's his way they could make an anime because of the Korean Penninsula constellations. It had to stay Korean they can't adapt it to Japanese like for Solo Leveling. I think it'll just stay a novel But if they worked it out somehow u hope they keep up the quality because it's insanely long 😂. The fight i want to see most is the 999OG
I'm just really excited about what they would do for the ost. I want to know what the orv op and ed would be 😭😭 I'll probably have it on repeat for months. Also I'm just excited for the fandom to expand. Like I know that if the fandom gets bigger, the amount of weirdos in the fandom will increase too but I just want to see more fan content for orv because it's too good not to have like 3937292628y3 edits, animatics and other stuff like that.
I don’t think the story of orv can ever be truly captured in any form other than a novel since the relationship between reader and writer is such an integral part of it
@@Nono-ed5ubdo you read the manwha, i like art apart from just reading novels so maybe ill enjoy it now more that ive seen how the characters look, you recommend i start from chapter one?

There's no problem the Webtoon just finished the prologue, now the main plot is beginning. Also all webtoons drop in viewership except for maybe Solo Leveling (which was lucky). A lot of people still read ORV and that's what matters, it's probably one of the most popular ones in Webtoon. Wish The World After The Fall had that sucess too, since it's also good and from the same authors.
I really don't understand this argument though. I paused at ch 130 (I love ORV but I'm not a weekly reader, if I read 1 chapter every week I just forget the context in a few months), but when I was reading it the new chapters had overall less viewers than nowadays. Like 10 thousand less or something. Like a year ago the most popular action was teenage mercenary (It already had less views than ORV, I don't understand how the webtoon popularity list works), now it's ORV. The overall viewership is growing constantly. Obviously a ton of people will keep reading for a while then they're just pausing it, most of them will come back after a few months/years like I will as well. Obviously the more popular a manwha gets the more people will just "check in" for a few chapters, I guess a lot of people also read a few chapters when they heard about the anime announcement and the hype it gets. That doesn't mean they dropped it because they didn't like it though. SL doesn't have page where you can review the number of views but I'm reaaaally sure that it also has the same drop-rate. It's a completely natural thing in every medium, especially if it's a weekly show that's going around for many-many years.
The views going down doesn’t mean much since all webtoon views decrease as episodes continue to release, but I do agree with the first season not being on par with later content. That being said, I still enjoyed the first part of the story and I think anime viewers will as well as long as they don’t go into it with preconceived expectations
The views have actually increased and it keeps rising over time. I remember the days when recent chapters only had like 25k-30k likes and chapters with more than 99k likes were very few. And now about 3/4 of the total chapters have more than 99k like in each chapters.
The latest chapters of orv have been the most interesting in my opinion the story is evolving and the charectors are showing growth so by the time we get to the return of dokja to the main plot I think it'll deliver great. The promised expectations have been set and im excited for the future of the story. Tho the viewership may be lower than before people are still discovering this story (like me a few months ago). The anime if handled with care should follow the trajectory of the manwha but sadly nothing is for sure 😅.
When you're dying, your brain releases all its dopamine at once to ease the pain, and to focus its resources in order to avoid it shutdowns. Meaning every "Self-Insert Isekai" story could very much so just be the main character hallucinating an entire reincarnated life in their final breath, as they got hit by truck-kun or whatever they died of.
If I recall, that's actually the plot of Driver Sanfrancisco, where the protagonist gets into a car accident and then spends the rest of the game in a coma until the ending.
Now I’m imagining a similar situation happening with one piece where the world floods on the day oda releases the last chapter and it’s up to the obsessive readers to find the real one piece.

Bro we needed a whole year to finish one arc with half chapters barely adding anything. I genuinely can't understand why because the novel is long finished and the artists don't seem to have health problems.
I think this anime started trend of gamified world for gods entertainment genre. Like how solo leveling did with necromancer. And despite so many anime copying so many tropes from this manhwa it still feels unique.
Personally I'm waiting a few months before reading more of OR, I'd like to read an entire arc at once so yeah, the latest episodes don't have my views and likes (yet). But also I think it's normal for webtoon views to fall off dramatically after the first episodes so I don't think it's that worrisome. Fingers crossed that the anime will be good enough to capitalize on the hype that still exists about this story.
Same. It's literally the same in every manwha ever. I really don't understand this guy. I also paused the series a year ago because I don't like to read weekly, but I remember that back then the average viewership was barely 30k in a week. ORV's fanbase keeps growing. Obviously the more popular a manwha/manga or even an anime gets, the more "casual" people will just check in to read the first few chapters and then they'll either wait for the anime or just forget about it quickly and that's it. This happens with every manwha ever. Also ORV will keep going on for like 10 more years lmao, I think the are more people like you and me who are waiting for a few months/years than catching up than the ones who are reading it weekly. I hate reading weekly because I just forget the whole context in a few months and I have to keep rereading the last 10-15 chapters constantly which is just extremely time-consuming.

This guy doesn't understand how webtoon works like you really comparing likes of a chapter which released 4 years ago vs a chapter released a week ago?
I'm literally so not worried about the anime not succeeding or the fans dropping it i can already smell the tiktok fans gathering up just to spit the dumbest takes known to earth i prefer the fandom the way it is. I never had high expectations for the anime in thr first place because thr best way you can ever get orv is by reading the novel
That's a very much unfair comparison, since you compared the number of views without incorporating the fact of how much time has passed since it was published. Was Chapter 1at 320k views the moment it was published? No. Few days within publishing? Also no. 87% drop is a major oversimplification.
im sorry but a first chapter will obviously have subtentially more likes then the latest one as people might not have kept up with it due to reason. You might want to compare the ratio with other known manhwua(?)
I had only compared it with the first two similarly popular Webtoons that came to mind (Remarried Empress and Lore Olympus), and the ratio of retained viewers was considerably higher
The thing is without hot characters, no hype. Jjk has gotten all simps so the fanbase is story readers. Jjk over=need new hot stuff=orv protag hot=hype= fandom calling it the best piece.
My gripe with ORV is that Kim D. never really suffers any permanent consequences or backlashes from doing things his way. (YES the last few chapters have mad something of permanent consequence but thats not the point) I'd describe his character as "you think you could do better if you were the protag" then Kim D. says "Bet". He already knows what big bad awaits him, what to do and when mistakes do happen or the story diverges from his knowledge simply realigns back into the course he knows. Oh whats that his (important character) is being consumed by (the forth wall) and slaming his fists against it doesnt work but (i kid you not) asking nicely does... TLDR: *Nothing of value is lost*
Have you read that far into the story? I can’t tell if this is ironic or not…. I read the webnovel, and you won’t be able to handle the consequences Kim Dokja and his friends will go through as a result of his actions.
@@popopop984 ok, up to the point of having a "heart to heart" with the 4th wall, ask yourself: what has Kim Dokja lost? Did any people he cared about die? And spoiler, he lost someone but he couldn't accept it and revive that someone in absolutely everyway possible even if he had to revive that person in another one body 💀
Dude.. you cant compare Pilot with a freshly dropped chapter. You need to look at the like rate and how it changes over time. Also, you NEVER include the pilot
I actually used the second chapter, the real first was even higher... I was also thinking more about the percentage change, which genuinely was pretty bad compared to similarly popular Webtoons
Fair points. It would really suck if the anime won't be able to show what makes it great. But worrying about it just makes me stressed 🙃 I'll just lower my expectations but still hope for the best 🥹 Btw, good video. Was amused with the Dokja popping up from time to time 😆
I doubt it. Webnovel readers have been carrying the fandom since 2018. It is the reason why it become a manhwa and become popular. Orv isnt famous for its manhwa but for its novel
You don't become one of most popular webtoons only because of webnovel fans. Many manhwa readers saw that it's good from the beginning and stayed. They are the majority of webtoon's readers.
Ngl i dropped Omniscient Reader for the same reason, it's sooooooooo slow... I won't deny the fact that it becomes better with the time but... idk man, if i want something slow i'll rather read a slice of life
The premise wasn't that bad. In fact, if it was the REAL premise, then I wouldn't have dropped the novel after a while... My main problem with the story was that it got repetitive... Everything pretty much got resolved by the main character's death and resurrection and subsequent powerup, and somehow he still became weaker... and this was repeated ad nauseum... Not to mention the fact that he kept complaining that he isn't the main character... Why the hell would anyone want to read a story about a protagonist like that?
ORV is garbage. Overly repetitive and gets so bogged down by it's premise that it becomes non functioning. Early parts of the story are good but once you hit the "Japan bad" arc the fun times are over.
hahahahha well desevered drop in readers honestly japan must be in really deep gutter to keep adapting mediocre works from KR it could have been a mediocre but okay work with good character writings but the author decided to shit on it by making the story needlessly convoluted near the end i dropped reading the webnovel after i glimpsed at the side story where the author killed off Kim (again) but this time having the big bad guy from the early subway replaced him because of convoluted space-time altering shenanigan the only thing i look foward to omniscient reader anymore is seeing the genderbend version of a certain "sunfish"

I never had high expectations for the anime in thr first place because thr best way you can ever get orv is by reading the novel
ok i am now afraid that might happen
@@samuek607 alr cus i was thinking that 10% was quite good
Orv has serious pacing problems that’s a major part of drops
Purdy Track
Johnpaul Glen
Have not finished reading it yet
Hey I get dropping it this is a long ahh series and we just finished part one of five I’d say you have to forget about orv then binge
THERE ARE 5 PARTS!?
@@samuek607 yes but part one is the largest though with 200 chapters in a 500 chapter novel also I’m speaking about the WEBTOON adaptation of it
The novel has liKe 520 you bet it has around 5 parts@@samuek607
510-20(?) chapters
This is just sounding like jjk season one situation.
Fritsch Burg
Nah everyone I know that reads ORV just stopped reading the manhwa and moved to the novel
Take a shot eveytime dokja khs.
I value my liver
The thing is without hot characters, no hype. Jjk has gotten all simps so the fanbase is story readers. Jjk over=need new hot stuff=orv protag hot=hype= fandom calling it the best piece.
Ain't no way 😔 kdj is literally so popular
My gripe with ORV is that Kim D. never really suffers any permanent consequences or backlashes from doing things his way. (YES the last few chapters have mad something of permanent consequence but thats not the point)
I'd describe his character as "you think you could do better if you were the protag" then Kim D.
Did any *major* consequences arise from his meddling in the story? Did he suffer any unrecoverable damages? If so can you remember them from the top of your head?
@@whatsnewbois9814 If you dislike the MC then telling spoilers to change your mind is meaningless, just skip the novel and read something else, liking something after all is subjective.
@@Plsc1994br i dont hate Dokja, i do like him, its just that the story seems to give him a pass when it comes to paying a price for his actions like with the 4th wall "nah bro its ok i know you didnt mean it here's your (important character) back, we all good right?"
@@whatsnewbois9814 Emmm..... From seeing you only mentioning that scene, I guess you haven't read the novel.
And consequences come in many form of tragedy but not the death of his companion because he will not accept and and will absolutely do whatever it take to prevent that so that he can achieve the perfect ending that Yoo Jounghuk could never get.
You are suffering from heart demons
Mosciski Bypass
People read on different site to
So that why the like are low
It was hard to read for me to be honest so I stopped
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pls play D&D with me please
Special announcement about that in next month's video 😤
Fair points. It would really suck if the anime won't be able to show what makes it great.
But worrying about it just makes me stressed 🙃 I'll just lower my expectations but still hope for the best 🥹
Btw, good video. Was amused with the Dokja popping up from time to time 😆
❤
I won't deny the fact that it becomes better with the time but... idk man, if i want something slow i'll rather read a slice of life
Yeah it definitely feels much better to binge than reading week by week
The premise wasn't that bad.
In fact, if it was the REAL premise, then I wouldn't have dropped the novel after a while...
My main problem with the story was that it got repetitive... Everything pretty much got resolved by the main character's death and resurrection and subsequent powerup, and somehow he still became weaker... and this was repeated ad nauseum...
Not to mention the fact that he kept complaining that he isn't the main character...
Why the hell would anyone want to read a story about a protagonist like that?
Honestly I hated how they kept his mother alive, like bruh
ORV is garbage. Overly repetitive and gets so bogged down by it's premise that it becomes non functioning. Early parts of the story are good but once you hit the "Japan bad" arc the fun times are over.
Completely the opposite opinion of mine. Omniscient Reader multiplies in quality the longer it goes on, the early chapters are crapshoot in comparison
@@popopop984 Different parts have different shit factors.
Bait has never been so obvious
hahahahha well desevered drop in readers honestly
japan must be in really deep gutter to keep adapting mediocre works from KR
it could have been a mediocre but okay work with good character writings but the author decided to shit on it by making the story needlessly convoluted near the end
i dropped reading the webnovel after i glimpsed at the side story where the author killed off Kim (again) but this time having the big bad guy from the early subway replaced him because of convoluted space-time altering shenanigan
the only thing i look foward to omniscient reader anymore is seeing the genderbend version of a certain "sunfish"
As if all those shitty Isekai genre and below mediocre adaptation of some amazing manga are not tarnishing the anime industries. 💀
