- Whilst we're still on lockdown and unable to get out and film any new docs, we're going to be re-posting a few classics from the archives.
First up is this inspirational and barely believable story from Japan...
This story is a heartwarming one after a tsunami hits the east coast of Japan in March 2011 but out of the rumble and wreckage, rose Vegalta Sendai. A club in the J-League top division which achieved their highest position that season of 4th in the league, despite the tragedy, and are fuelled by "some of the most passionate fans in Japan".

Tohoku region has a special place in my heart, amazing friendly and strong people. Went to the tsunami area myself when I studied in Japan, first time about a year exactly after the disaster, and it has stayed in my heart.
Also the same year as the disaster, the womens' national team miraculously won the World Cup, would love to see a documentary about that as well.
Also, make one about Urawa Reds, perhaps the most passionate fans in the league and a true football hub in Japan!
I was in Tokyo area (Akashima) when the entire disaster happened. I thought it was just another earthquake until more and more people filled the streets in panic. I didn't realized what was really going until I got home and turned on the TV only to see the tsunami rapidly swallow the rice fields in Sendai and Morioka. I still remember as it was yesterday.
I love Sendai and Vegalta Sendai. One day, they will rise up and win the elusive J-league title. Ganbare Sendai!!
This is what football should be all about! Something similar happened with the Women's Team who won on 2011.

Hope admin make a documentary about Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) after the pandemic. Really interseting story from unknown club to the most well-known club in ASEAN.
Subtitles in this (3:46) interview dosent make any sense for me. I think he is just talking about situation when earthquake came.
