As someone who has worked as a paralegal for a defense firm, I can tell you Morgan & Morgan lawyers are mostly a pain to deal with.
I tried so many times to get away from Hyrule Castle and into the rest of Hyrule.

Maybe the ghost ship was a pirates ship that discovered the triforce shard and thought it was some golden treasure. Later they were sunk and re-animated in the ghost ship, forever to have their souls trapped in the boat. I also think the ghost ship chart wasn't made by the people that made the ghost ship, rather someone who discovered it eerily floating on the water and then studied it to make the chart. This doesn't explain why you can't enter the ship without the chart though.
I agree with the ghost ship being Pirates who found the Triforce shard. However we know from Lenzo that the map was made much more recently by somebody who was tracking the ship. Lenzo tells us that "just as he finished drawing the last line on that map, he died a most unexpected death...." it is my opinion that either the ghosts of that ship cursed him to death for tracking them, and out of a bit of spiteful revenge HIS ghost in turn enchanted the map so that it render the wielder immune to certain powers of the Ghost Ship, such as allowing people to board it, further evidence follows up that the Ghost Ship appears at the diamond steppe island on a certain night which means he may have died on that island... it is also my opinion that ships underneath the diamond steppe Island were other ships which the Ghost Ship may have attacked or were not as fortunate in their encounters with the Ghost Ship as Link was... and the ships were attacked and were brought down there by the Ghost Ship while their crew became the misfortunate Spirits we see all around when we're actually within the ship...... I also like to believe that in the original design it was going to be a bit bigger like a mini dungeon.... as for the portrait on the wall, in my original GameCube version it doesn't smile at first until link closes in as if it's getting ready to attack him as he gets close to the treasure chest..... perhaps that is all that is left of the heart of the captain who once commanded the ship....
I love the theory that this ghost Ship It's the same ghost ship in PH, searching for strong life force - what more strong than a triforce shard? But become trapped in great sea after getting the shard
It's possible that those pirates would have been cursed by the goddesses for stealing the shard, condamned to wander the sea protecting the shard until the hero takes it. Might explain the strange properties of the ghost ship chart.
I find it interesting that the Forsaken Fortress is a single dungeon experience divided across two visits. On the first visit, you get the navigation, puzzle, and small battle challenges. On the second, you get the miniboss, special item, and boss fight.
An interesting plot line to follow would be Link’s origin on Outset Island. The Hero of Time did not, in fact, come from Kokiri Forest, but Ganondorf may have thought he did. But the Hero of Time was a refugee under the Great Deku Tree’s protection. So was the Hero of Time from the origin of Outset Island? And what was that place? A game exploring the war preceding OOT could be very interesting.

The Ghost ship strikes me as being inspired by a similar such ship in the Shadow Temple of OoT. It gives me some Shiekah vibes in that they love to utilize the dead as tools and weapons. To me, it seems like the Hylian Royals probably gave the Shiekah the task of hiding one of the charts/shards, and this was their solution that they knew would last the longest. That mask is what sinches it for me. The Shiekah love illusions and big smiles AND masks, so that seems like just a cherry on top for those guys.
With the ghost ship's weird face, it could be a representative of the spirits of the ghost ship.
If they are the spirits of the old Hyrulean navy as you suggest, then the smile could just be an unfortunately malicious-looking expression of the sailors' joy at finally being allowed rest, now that the next hero has arrived. It changing to a neutral face could also be an element of their navy background, since military often teaches its soldiers to manage their emotions in serious matters, so once the next hero approaches, it turns serious as the spirits prepare for their ascension from their age-long half-existence.
So this is a little embarressing BUT as a kid on my first playthrough I tried to get on the ghostship by running into it on the king of red lions and it didn't work because I didn't have the chart, so once I got the chart I just assumed I couldn't get in that way, so I waited for the ship to get to a particular island that had a very high peak on it, got onto the peak, changed the wind, and flew onto the ship with the deku leaf all because I didn't know you could just ram into it once you had the chart.

correct me if I'm wrong, but, from the fish who draws on your map tells you that years ago there was a young man who for a long time followed and researched the patterns of the ghost ship, this man seemed to be an acquaintance of the pictographic man in windfall island, since when you look for the first time the picture of the ghost ship he tells you that he was was frozen in fear when he saw it that dreadful night, and that he knew about a guy who drew the map of the ghost ship to find it according to the moon phase. But he and the fish says that the guy who drew the map, soon after finishing the map, died in mysterious circumstances, although it is unclear if he died like one morning he was found dead on his bed (natural death), killed or hanged, or if it was a sickness that happened from one moment to another, he just died without warning. so the map itself it was made in the great sea, not before the great flood, right?

Fun fact: the Deku Tree states when Makar falls into the woods that the Forbidden Woods used to be the home of the Koroks before Ganondorf ruptured it and "conquered" it, which made the Koroks flee to the Haven.
Presuming the Deku sprout never moved after OoT, an argument can be made that the Forbidden Woods are what's left of the Kokiri Village. At least that was how i took it when I played the game.
Maybe the tree trunk around the forbidden forest is actually the old deku tree from ocarina of time, that would explain why they are right next to each other and why it looks like dead, rotted wood.
I think the "grin" on the ghost ship's face is actually their beard, and they want to look clean shaven so they quickly shave when link approaches.

well initially the creepy face that turning nice when you get close feels like it is trying to trick you. But if the ghost ship is from old hyrule people who set this up for the return of the hero, maybe it represents the will of the hylians. trying to scare off anyone else, but becoming happy and at peace when the hero finally comes.
5:10 Believe it or not, that's actually a mistranslation. In the English version, he says the Master Sword kept the seal on his powers and minions intact. But in the Japanese version, he just says it sealed away his minions.

The Earth Temple
And
The Wind Temple
Their sages are a plant person and a bird person
Guess which one is in which.
Speaking of which, why would the ocean-dwelling merpeople turn into land-dwelling bird people after the world flooded?
@@solgaleo3533 I read somewhere that that’s because zoras were used to living in river and lake water and not salty ocean water. Don’t know where their source of their information was, but just thought I’d share.

Actually the odd and puzzle like design of the wind temple being so nonsensical might actually be because it was a sort of kokiri playground.
The kokiri forest is definitely not the forest haven. You can find some of the kokiris' houses in the forbidden forest
The air outside the ghost ship is freaking scary.

10:25 One thing that annoys me about the Wind Waker is it never explains just HOW Ganondorf found out about the existence of these 2 Sages and their purpose. You'd think that they would be a well kept secret. They are never even referenced in Ocarina of Time 3D.

I believe the forbidden woods is actually the dead deku tree from oot, which explains the kokiri emblems while the new deku tree houses the koroks

My theory about the Ghost Ship is that it wasn't just the Hyrule Navy, but the ship of the royal family itself. After hiding all the other pieces of the Triforce of Courage, they held onto the last piece until they could be sure their duty was completed. Their descendants lived on after their ship sank, but they remained sailors.... until even Princess Zelda herself was a pirate.
I always thought Makar and Medli were *both* opposites to the natural element of their dungeons.
Medli flies in the wind.
Makar grows from the earth.
(Also, I think the face above the Ghost Ship chest is symbolic of the ghosts of the dead: scary in appearance at first glance, but sad as you take time to consider their trapped souls. . . I dunno, there's absolutely no reasoning behind this mini-theory, I just think it sounds poetic.)

I recently found out the hard way not all Zelda fans are into lore (figure that, guess I'm just nerdier than most).
I recently started Zelda 2 and would love to hear thoughts on the sleeping Zelda's back story. Personally, I think she's the Zelda from Skyward Sword as her brother declared all subsequent princesses be named Zelda in her honor. Wouldn't make much sense if there were already a whole line of Zelda's.

The Deku Tree in WW is the grown-up Deku Tree Sprout from OoT-remember, WW is set in what is known as the Adult Timeline, and the Deku Tree Sprout was born almost immediately after Adult Link vanquished Phantom Ganon and purified the Forest Temple in OoT.
The Ghost Ship's interior was originally intended to be larger.

I heard a theory where someone thought that the old Deku Tree may be what's encasing the wind waker's Deku Tree.
_"The only purpose the fortress serves following this is to allow Link and the King of Red Lyons easy access to and from Ganon's castle in Hyrule via the dark portal that Ganon originally used to enter the world above the sea."_ Sure, if you consider having to make your way to the northwestern corner of the map, to which you can't warp, and the closest you can come to doing so without being trapped inside the Mother-and-Child Island cave is like four squares away, every time you want to use it. It's the most inconvienent easy-access entrance I've ever seen.

I would like to say, I figured out just recently that (at least in the original version) (and I only KNOW it works for ice ring isle), if you time it correctly, you can actually unfreeze it right as it refreezes, which extends the time. I also don't know if it works INSIDE the room where you get the iron boots.

But he did not kill the hero , he was corrupted and turned into two forms.
His physical form was turned into the ghost ship from Wind Waker.
That was revived by the spiritual parasite that ate away the memory of the hero.

Why do some Zelda canonical researchers like to say the wind waker link isn't an actual incarnation of a Hyrulian hero of courage? What makes him at all any different or as they like to imply, less important than any other incarnations of Link?
I am not sure why people would say he isn’t an incarnation of the hero, but the King of Red Lions thought he was the Hero of Time reborn, but then told Jabun that this wasn’t the case.
