- Took The new Maxx V2 to the skate park after a few changes and upgrades and this truck performed absolutely awesome this time and I had a ton of fun with it.

Yes, I finally had a decent day to try out my new Maxx and noticed the same delay you mentioned. This is brand new out of the box Maxx on a 7600mah 4S. Just a slight delay but the same thing you are experiencing. I have a E-Revo 2.0 and Hoss and they do not have this delay. I ran a battery pack and called it a day. I loved the way the truck handled and is fast enough of me. Thanks for the video.

Man, the Maxx was lookin great today! I picked one of these up and really have not had it out yet with all our weather!!! Not sure many other rigs could take a vertical fall on the tail like that without any damage!! Great video!!!!

Great vid as always. Really enjoy my Maxx, toughest RC out with minimal upgrades. Aluminum C and axle hubs are a must. Did the steel axles as well and it never lets me down. I am thinking of doing the same thing with the esc. want to put something better in the X Maxx. thanks for the Maxx video. love to see how good it will fly and take the abuse. Have a great one

Dang! That was a hard concrete landing!!! I soaked my car in WD40 every night about 7x, the only thing I’m breaking the rear bulkhead. I’m running in 18- 2 degrees. It seems to work good. I slapped a max8 Hobbywing in mine, and running 46 spur 27 pinion. It handles 6s but is to unbalanced jumping. Your right, it needs more power out of the box. I’ve done a Velcro battery hold down and aluminum rear bulkhead. Hope your having a good one Buddy! 👍👊🍻 Epic video as usual🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Put a hobby wing max 8 inside and that fixes the stuttering issue it did for me
The delay is something strange that traxxas did idk if its true but I’ve noticed that the people that changed the battery connectors had that problem but traxxas connector and battery seem to be fine
I replaced my radio and esc with a Max 8 ESC and spectrum radio. Much better. I already have the aluminum C hubs and steering blocks from Traxxas in the front. Today I broke the rear upper bulkhead where the hinge pin block goes through for the rear upper arm (another weakness). I also broke the lower control arm on the right rear (lower one). The hinge pin for the upper control arm on the right rear stub axle came right through that part. So yeah lots of damage today. I landed wrong a few times.

I have about ten Traxxas vehicles unfortunately 😕lol. I always run my tsm between 15 and 20 % and just set trim for that and leave it their. It tames it down but doesn't mess with it in the air controll. big ones small ones ... That has worked best. So the dot would be about 8 or 9 a clock. 👍👊
i had that delay to and i changed my receiver and transmitter ( i run a flysky noble NB4) and it is much better. no delay anymore .... the Noble is awesome ....

@@BarstoneRC not at all, it's little better with the 3.8 trencher LP's but they suck in grass. Best ones I've used are the dboots on the outcast, the 4s ones
Great videos👍🏻 Do you think spray on flex seal would be a good body protectant opinion instead of drywall tape and shoe goo? I think it may work as a rhino liner for the rc body.
I tried that once honestly unless you put a lot and I mean a lot of coats on it it doesn’t seem to help very much the flex seal tape however does help a lot and it’s very easy to put on
TSM causing a delay add a touch up from off 👍👍

Great video. Not many trucks could handle that landing on concrete!!! I’ve got the V1 and I’m not sold on upgrading the chubs etc. the plastic has so much flex. Won’t upgrading just put more stress on other components? It handled that huge landing so why change anything ? Thanks bars
It lands the jumps when they’re landed perfectly but they have been breaking on me left and right so that’s why I decided to do a few upgrades on it
With it pulling while under throttle, I wonder if the diff fluid it came with is too thin.
Had that similar issue on my 3s typhon and after multiple attempts at alignment, I just added thicker oil during some maintenence and next time I took it out, it went straight under load and stopped pulling to the side.
Yeah I should probably tear the diff’s open and see what they got in there or if they’re really low maybe?
I think that after that bad landing, your bulkhead in the rear might have cracked where the upper control arm goes through. Double check.

Yeah it took a hard hit.
Just got mine, lots of speed, good jumper, but esc switched itself off twice after the jumps. I'll see what happens with the next run

Nice run bro, I'm having the same issue with mine wanting to steer itself under throttle. I'm thinking my issue could be diff related because it doesn't like to wheelie straight either.
Yeah I was talking with someone else on here and I’m thinking it might need thicker diff fluid

It’s the 8S ESC that was in my XMAXX.
Get a better radio and receiver and esc.
You Won’t have that problem anymore. I had the delay with the stock radio and I went to a flysky and max 8 esc. No more delay.
I have lots of aftermarket radios but this is the first time I ever encountered this with the stock Traxxas stuff.
Does anyone know what the *actual* stock oil weight is in the v2? The manual actually says 60wt, but a lot of people are saying 30. I know some people might just be quoting outdated info from the v1, but I've seen a lot of people 'switching' to 60 and saying it makes a difference. Also just feeling it myself it doesn't feel like 60... I did a short drop test from only a few feat up, and that thing slapped my concrete garage floor so hard I thought it broke something...

What brand and specs is the battery? So if I upgrade just my esc alone I will get more power?
Yeah the ESC packs a little more punch and if you run it on 6S it really makes a big difference. but any 5500 mah 4s or 6s

I haven’t owned the max long enough to really answer that strongly but the big rock running on 4S is awesome

Yeah it ran very cool. But it was colder out also.
@@BarstoneRC so I’m say in 90 Degree weather here in Florida using a bigger ESC with all factors the same will keep the motor cooler?
The ESC will run cooler for sure I’m not positive about the motor
how does the MAxx compare to the Outcast 4s? Im trying to decide and watching all your videos on both now
BTW I grew up in Monroeville, PA I know the 724 Area Code from the Snack and Pack Sign
They’re both pretty durable cars, but the outcast is definitely quite a bit faster and the body doesn’t pop off lol

My friend has the v1 maxx and there is an input lag. I tried it and dindnt like it because of that
