I went to Bible College with the parents of Davy. Alicia was my roommate. I remember them talking about their dream to start an orphanage in Haiti and have followed their work since. Their intentions were pure. They wanted to show the love of God by helping these children who were completely helpless. They didn't leave when things got bad because of the children and the gangs had known about their orphanage and left them alone until now.
That's incredible. Thanks for sharing. Their martyr's death was not in vain. They would have been loved and respected by a lot of the locals. This is the kind of thing that causes people to change their minds and to oppose the evil thriving there all the more.
The same people who love open borders and deny human trafficking - the level of evil just stuns me. I hope to have the courage and love that this couple had. My heart goes out to their families
As a missionary of 40 years in Venezuela, and Paraguay, I thank you for covering this. ❤We have been through a few dangerous situations including kidnappings and gun shots ourselves but it’s heartbreaking to see this young couple killed. However, we know they are now in the presence of their Lord.
Some of the commenters here reveal they know nothing of Christianity. Christianty didn't die off after the first generation because the apostle Paul and others went out planting churches, ordaining pastors in each church, baptizing and discipling new believers, and training faithful men who would do the same. Paul gave his life willingly for the cause of the gospel. If someone doesn't understand why someone might do the same thing in this generation, then they have no gratitude for the gospel, or they never received it in the first place. We are debtors.
@swebilbo Yes, but those were protestant kings and not christian kings, it wasn't christianity they were spreading, it was feudalism. Protestant kings called feudalism christianity. In some European contries, christians had to convert and tithe, flee or get tortured to death; over night many seized to be christian and became protestant. In the 16° century protestant kings stole from Christians as much as they could: churches, museum pieces, schools, hospitals, orphanages, businesses, factories, agricultural lands and farming technology. Soon common sense was lost; war, famine and disease overshadowed Europe. Chistianity was and still is millions of times better than protestantism, masonry, Islam and atheism.
@@saracomeaux1612 Yes, one, one eucarist, no Lord's Supper; that would be protestant. Protestantism has it's origins in atheistic materialism; it's economy quicly increased exponentially by stealing and murderin Christians. Nothing good has come out of protestantism; it has slowed the spread of the gospel by 700 years in
I was once involved in full-time missions, and I went to Haiti on a short-term mission trip. I've been to many third-world countries. Haiti was easily the worst, most disturbing country I've ever been to. I was there when their president was assassinated, and we had to be on lockdown in our compound. The first day we were there, someone was killed in a hit-and-run in the middle of the street. God help that country and all the innocent who suffer.
I’m also praying that France makes reparations. Haitians became independent from France. However, Frace lost their Haitian slaves. So, France made Haiti pay them back-150 million Francs, which is billions today. Please pray that the colonizers make restitution foe their inhumane treatment of their colonized subjects. France made a mess of their colonies in the Caribbean and Africa.
@@doobieddooo Haiti has received over $20 billion in foreign aid over the course of 60 years, and the country has not improved in the slightest. Money isn't the main issue. It's their government.
I was in Haiti for a week missions trip in 2018… I have been on several different trips to Zambia and the DR, and I have never experienced such a spiritual darkness and heaviness as I did in Haiti. Satanic worship services and their red flags are out in the open most places we traveled to… even the Christians were so entrapped with beliefs of voodoo and casting spells. Most “Christians” are not walking in true freedom and peace. They, like every other people group, still need the gospel. My prayers go out to the family of this extremely brave couple! Their reward is great 🤍
The problem is not their religion. The problem is the corrupt government. Voodoo has been demonized by white people, which probably causes friction between the native people and missionaries. What happened was terrible, but there is always a detrimental risk when going to these countries. A black man was also killed and nothing was said about him.
As a Haitian, this is so disrespectful. Haiti needs all of the missionaries and help it can get rn. These people were brave to go there in such a perilous time. God Bless their souls.
No it doesn’t 😂, Africa n Caribbeans were colonize just like dat “ missionaries “ bs, I wonder why so children’s been missing in Haiti! N don’t say the gng cuz they don’t kidnap kids, only adult for money!
True that Haiti definitely needs help. At this time the only way Haiti will change is from an actual takeover that will not be very pretty. People shouldn’t keep going over there to be killed and kidnapped. I really feel bad for the people that are really trying to do the right thing. But the government is too corrupt. Even presidents getting killed. It’s too dangerous. Europe or the US is going to take control again, which I hate that also. Outside countries get tired of the refugees and it’s wrong. They send them back because they are black. It’s a horrible situation, I don’t see a happy ending. I am sorry ma’am.
Amen! You and your country are in my prayers! We have friends who are and have been serving as missionaries for years. They run an orphanage and a medical clinic there.
All the mockers need to see the story, “Through the Gates of Splendor”. No death, of a missionary for the Lord Jesus Christ, is in vain. This true Christian couple has their rewards awaiting them! From the heart of a missionary. Love and prayers!
Thanks for bringing up Russell Brand. I lost a street evangelist friend the week he got baptized because this guy made a video 24 hours after he was baptized that says "100% proof he is not saved!" I was smacked down in his comments and accused of having no discernment, even that I am not saved either! I don't care. I think we need to give fruit trees time to root, grab firm, sprout and harvest before we judge the fruits. I'm very discerning actually, I just don't believe in not having grace for sanctification and growth in Him. I was NOT an immediately fruitful Christian. Too many Christians today expect these instantaneous conversions because they seem to get more attention. It's not realistic for many..
Amen!! I'm ashamed of how slow my sanctification process has been. Not because the Lord failed but because I'm stubborn and selfish! So often my flesh fought against what I knew in my heart to be true. I'm so thankful for the Lord's patience with me.
Luciferian celebrities pretend to be one Christians all the time to lead people, and the church, astray. You do need more discernment. It's ok to admit that and ask for it from the Lord.
You articulated my thoughts perfectly regarding the skepticism of Christians when a "celebrity" says they have come to faith. Why would they even want to be a part of a faith that is nasty to new converts who are famous? It's a good thing it's the work of the Holy Spirit and not ours! It was like we had it all figured out when we were first saved. Rejoice he has come to faith, and let the Holy Spirit transform Russell's heart as He did ours!
Many of those who expect that instantaneous conversion were raised in Christian homes and were surrounded by the Gospel Message in a largely Christian nation. However, more and more often, we are coming across those who’ve had no real interaction with the Gospel Message, so it is absolutely insane that we would expect them to obtain all that knowledge immediately. We need to look no further than the disciples. Those men walked with Jesus, and STILL did not get it. It was not until His death and resurrection that they finally understand. If they could walk with the Lord for years and STILL not understand, why would we expect somebody who’s had no (or very minimal) exposure to the Gospel Message to immediately obtain all the knowledge of the Gospel?!
@@dejayne8246amen! I am right there with you! I agree with Allie when she talked about how our faith process sometimes includes a couple steps backwards. I have been dealing with such a situation. I am no stranger to suffering. I have undergone over 150 surgeries in the last 15 years. But over the last two years, I have been dealing with some issues with my child… I would go through all of the surgeries, and all of the complications and all the near death experiences 100 times over, if I could avoid what is happened in the last two years. I have never dealt with something so painful and so gut wrenching as these past two years. The silence has been the worst. Having time to think makes everything hit me like a ton of bricks, so I have resorted to doing whatever I can to not have to face that silence. I have never been able to sleep with noise. I need silence to sleep, but that silence has been deafening so I now fall asleep with TH-cam on my phone so I don’t have to face that silence. And, sadly, this is impacted my quiet time with God and my time in the Word because when I turned all the noise and distractions off, so I can focus on Him, everything hits me once again. I love the Lord with all my heart and I constantly think about Bible verses and I listen to Christian podcasts nearly constantly but having that silent time that is so necessary for my walk with Christ has been incredibly difficult since that silence causes everything to hit me once again. I say this because if those of us who are believers, who have been raised in Christian homes and with Christian values, can undergo times like this, times where our actions don’t line up with our faith, how can we get upset that somebody like Russell Brand, who is just learning what it means to be a believer, so soon after his conversion , doesn’t have everything all figured out yet? Even so, he stands up and shares his faith with more conviction than many longtime Christians do! How many Christians are as vocal about their faith and about sharing the Gospel Message?! I applaud Russell for sharing his faith! And, I pray that God places Godly men and women in his life who will disciple him and help mentor him as he continues to grow. I pray that the roots of his faith grow deep and that the fruit of his faith will grow abundantly!!
This is it. Your best episode yet! I wept through the majority of it. Allie, you honored their memory and also reminded us this is to be expected and used of God. We mourn, but we’re thankful. We count the costs, but we’re not fearful. “In Jesus’ name, this ends now.” All of it, the child sacrifice, the paganism, the inhumanity.
This is a sign of how Christianity has been portrayed in America, as a white, apple pie, and Jesus religion instead of what it really is. Also, the rise of new age spirituality doesn't help. The Church congregation/leaders needs to step up more IMO.
So sad to hear these awful tweets. I am a RN and went to Haiti to serve for a month after the terrible Earthquake. I went to help the people who were horrifically injured on my own dime, becaue I care about fellow humans.. To serve and love the people of Haiti. There were some dangerous times back then, but so much worse now. My heart hurts for the Haitian people. It seems that the vast majority of people that help in these humanitarian situations are conservatives.
A more accurate way of putting it might be that conservatives and conservative Christians are *helpful* because of their good understanding of human nature and morality. Most leftists are trying to help, but their misunderstanding of human nature and morality prevents them from actually being helpful.
I work with first-time low income mothers. One of my clients is a Haitian legal immigrant. She and her family have faced horrors in Haiti and they are so grateful to be in the US. My prayers to these missionaries who made the ultimate sacrifice and all innocent Haitians living under this barbaric violence. ❤
I am originally born in different country, but I am citizen now. I heard the news while working with pt at bedside. I felt something boiling inside of me and very sad. Patient family at bedside asked me what happened to their government? What kind of people is this? I said their government corrupted and these people think like evil. They don’t have life so they have to destroy their own people. 100% agree, it about the ideology. Here in the United States, schools are brain washing kids. That is what seen in the publics and social media. Brother’s and sisters, pray…… for this country. I do not do comments, but this is wrong. Thank you Allie for explaining very well! I am just here to say thank you to you and show my condolence to these beautiful souls.
Such a tragedy, but we know they are with Jesus, safe and secure! There is no reason for any one to say a negative word about this....Father bless their families, give them peace and comfort.
I was an anthropology major and I remember my professor being highly against missionaries. When I countered that they are culturally sensitive nowadays and when another classmate asked,"yeah what about that?"the Prof said that that just made it easier to convert people. These anthropologists are such hypocrites. They love people to stay in stone age tech because now they have a people group to study. Kind of like living fossils. But they are also paternalistic, protecting the "poor tribesman" from those mean old missionaries. It's treating these people like children to be quite honest and not letting them decide how they want to live their lives. So these anthropologists were very much gatekeepers and acting like they were so superior and knew what was better for the tribespeople. Let's just also state how they had no issues with Muslim missionaries.
Did you study anthropology? Anthropologists observe and report. Also, Missionaries are paternalistic. They treat the “natives” as ignorant, pagan, and primitive. How would you feel if a Muslim missionary tried to convert you and told you that you needed Allah? Then they say that your culture and religion are demonic
This kind of makes me nervous for the people who do missionary work at my church! They're going to Mexico in a few months and I am hoping something like this doesn't happen to them. I'm praying for the family and friends of this amazing couple.
Great episode, Allie! As a Christian, listening to all the anti-christian and "colonizers = evil" rhetoric that is all over social media makes me angry, sad, frustrated, wanting to start my own youtube channel to help God's word be told, but also want to retreat into a hole and not come out. The level of evil is rising at an alarming rate. I want to be a voice but don't know the best way to start. I am grateful for channels like yours that speak the Truth!! God is good!
My heart aches and rejoices for the sacrifice that the missionary couple gave. May we learn and be spurred on by their sacrifice! I am encouraged by Russell Brand. I have been encouraged hearing how he is slowly replacing those pagan ideologies with Biblical Truths. He started with a very confused ideology mixing Catholicism, Christianity, mysticism, New Age, etc. However, each time he speaks, I see him speaking less of those pagan/New Age views and is replacing it with a clear Biblical message. I am definitely cautiously optimistic for his faith journey. That said, it is imperative that we as believers encourage him rather than denigrate him and discourage him. It is not for us to judge but we do need to look for fruit and I am beginning to see the fruit of those seeds that were established in his life. I think it would be prudent of us as believers to examine our own lives and to seriously examine if we have fruit in our own lives before we attempt to throw stones towards Russell Brand!
Thank you so much for this information. As a Christian man, I am disheartened of the acts done to those missionaries in Haiti. I thank God for their effort in spreading the gospel there, may their souls rest with Jesus. I just have to say, as a Haitian man I was a little disturbed with your perspective on Haiti’s history. The Haitian people’s ancestors were not Indigenous, they were slaves put on an island. I appreciate your sentiment, however the premise of your thought disregards the people. The Haitian government that have been in relationships with countries, organizations, and presidents (Clinton’s) Have taken advantage of the people. (2014earthquake Red Cross). This is different from missionaries coming in trying to help the population. I’m heartbroken of the misinformation and misrepresentation of my ethnic background, yet, I find hope in Jesus. It’s a human heart issue. Let’s stop singling out ethnic group and let’s accept the root cause. Sin.
Beth did mention that the Haitians were slaves from Africa to be fair but certainly she did leave out the role of the US and their awful foreign policies in the area.
Thank you, Allie. I learned so much from you and I appreciate your gift of teaching. You're always positive, encouraging and full of knowledge. I am praising God. God bless you and your family. 🙏🏻 🩷
I have known Natalie’s mother and family, and David and Alicia for 31 years. In all those years, they have stood for truth. They have stood for righteousness. Because of Christ, they’ve been an example to many, and passed that down to their children- Davy and Natalie. Thank you, Allie, for honoring them, for bringing light on their story and for challenging us, as believers, to step out of our comfort zone.❤
Thank you Allie Beth just for who you are! I agree wholeheartedly with everything that you shared with us today concerning the very sad situation with the young missionaries. Missionaries are not uninformed of the risks that they are taking and that is not going to stop them from going and making disciples to whomever they can! Praise God for the young people that they have influenced and helped and loved! Their love will not be wasted as I believe that God does not waste anything whether evil or righteous! I also love how you are highlighting Russell Brand!! I am reminded that it is not up to us who God saves and why should we react automatically with skepticism! Do your listeners believe that God is Sovereign? That breaks my heart. Someone has planted a seed in Russell Brand's heart and it is and has been watered and I agree that it is so exciting to see what God is going to do! What an audience he could influence for Jesus! Our responsibility is to be available and to pray for these new hearts! I am just praying and waiting for the day when I can hear many of my own precious loved ones say that they have placed their faith in Jesus Christ! What a glorious day it will be for me personally and I will praise God no matter what skepticism others might have because He can be trusted! Russell doesn't seem to be discouraged about the skepticism! He can't keep quiet about his newfound Life in Christ as a New Creation and I think it is BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you Jesus!!
These kinds of hybrid beliefs of voodoo and Catholicism also came to places in the US, like New Orleans. It’s not as prevalent as it used to be, but you will find it down in the area of New Orleans from time to time. Most Catholics in Louisiana do not believe in voodoo, but there are a few in the area that do.
It makes my heart hurt so much that they were taken from this Earth so brutally. But it does give me peace knowing that their faith was unwavering. “but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” 🙏🏻
As horrific and tragic as this ghastly murder is, what we are witnessing in this godless culture more and more is the increase in persecution of Christians that Jesus told us to expect.
And yet ……. this precious young couple with their whole lives ahead of them with one day possibly having children of their own, they died torturous deaths and those children they STAYED to protect are now living horrid starved lives! Christians have been witnessing in foreign third world countries for 100s of years, providing food, clean water and freeing women and children from poverty and abuse. Whatever good that has been done is a minute drop in the oceans of the world. These places are no better and have grown worse as time goes by. Yes it is depressing.
I saw the title and knew I should browse this ep (if not watch it entirely). The world needs to understand VOM issues. Voice of the Martyrs. Even the members of 1990's crossovers rock musicians dc talk understood that (especially Michael Tait & Tobymac). It's today's ongoing Fox's Book Of Martyrs in real time..... And only the deceived and the fools would ignore that the persecution of christians around the world is selective, with agendas, not by mistake.
Wow as a full time missionary myself this one hit hard! I really appreciated how you shared what the martyred missionaries’ ministry was specifically doing and how the Christian label is misleading in Haiti’s case.
I believe God knows all things and he knows what it’s like to be human, but now because of what He did, we know he knows. So happy for Russell. Praying he grows in sanctification.
I have been to Haiti numerous times, in Bon Repos outside of Port Au Prince, part of their problem is the American Govt! They help to keep Haitians oppressed and take the money.
We need don’t owe anyone anything. We’ve been bullied into su bmission enough for a thousand lifetimes and we’ve gotta stop pro pping others up. Build your own life
@decodedpsyopfor what?? Things we had no part of? I don’t know what my ancestors did, and if they did do something unsavory, I cannot control that, nor do I condone it. But it’s not my job to pay for their sins. Quit wallowing in a victim mentality and do something with your life!

This voodoo religion also exists in the Philippines 😢. My wife was asked to leave her boarding house because her landlady’s voodoo beliefs. Of course, her island is also mostly Catholic.
The Philippines is a lovely country with TONS of ACTUAL Catholics with beautiful faith, though! VS the weirdo Santeria voodoo stuff. I was a missionary there myself.
It’s called “good ol fashioned” *PAGANISM* which _is indeed_ satanic witchcraft in aalll it’s forms and variations. *Let not pretend It isnt alive and well all over Europe, USA, and the rest of the 3rd world.* Only difference is the USA still has many followers of Christ unlike Europe with its socialist ideology and various Catholic denominations et Al. Which is why that continent as well as Americans is heading fast toward the pit. Psalms 9:16 The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: *the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands.* Higgaion. Selah. Psalms 9:17 *The wicked shall be turned into hell, AND ALL THE NATIONS THAT FORGET GOD.* (I wrote this in response to the video but it can apply to your comment as well)
I AM HAITIAN BORN IN HAITI. LIVE IN AMERICA. THAT IS NOT THE STORY. THOSE MISSIONARIES WERE THE GANGS FRIENDS. AND HAD MANY ENCOUNTERS WITH THE GANGS. THE AMERICAN AMBASSADOR IS THOSE GANGS FRIEND AS WELL. AS A MATTER OF FACTS IT WAS THE AMERICAN AMBASSADOR WHO CALLED THE GANGS WHO KILLED THEM TO GO OVER THERE IN THEIR RESCUE DUE TO ANOTHER GROUP WHO ATTACKED THE MISSIONARIES.
What? You’re saying the people who murdered them were their friends even though in the video the dude talks about how scared everyone is oh this gang who eventually kills Jim? I don’t know…
You can never be a friend to a gangster. They will be your friend until you are of no use. They came looking to loot the house, but the house was already looted. The dad was going to send them money to give the gang but somehow the call never went out. So what happened had nothing to do with the fact they were missionaries. It was a shakedown which happens a lot in Third World countries.
Thank you Allie for honoring these three kingdom laborers. They were willing to do and go where most of us aren’t. They sacrificed and suffered for the betterment of the needy and now the world mocks their pain and the pain of their families. This world is filled with evil! Please Lord Jesus come. 🙏🏼
[Rev 14:13]...true Shepherds never abandon their sheep...true Shepherds lay down their lives for their sheep...the pervasive presence of orphans, disorder, crime, political violence, and street gangs, (= Sin) is evidence enough of the need for missionaries...no matter what sort of "christians" are already there... I was a Caribbean missionary (Jamaica) in the early 90's...in Jamaica, the local spiritualist folk magic "Obeah", is mixed with a sort of pentecostal evangelicalism ...
This is a very tragic event for the family and friends of these missionaries who gave up their lives for our "Lord King Jesus" what a great honor that is! The vast amount of modern day Christians will not have to face martyrdom for the Lord, Matthew 10:28 states "and do not fear those who can kill the body but cannot kill the soul ; rather fear Him who can kill both soul and body in hell. We who are redeemed by the Lord and live our lives for him and for those who carry the Gospel to the corners of the world realize that we at any time can have persecuted / called upon to give up our lives for Him...... thank you Davy and Natalie and Jude for your sacrifice . may your deaths open an opportunity for the Lord work with the Haitian people
Let's also state that nobody the missionaries see are being forced to believe anything. How many people in the US were raised in a Christian or Muslim or Jewish home and ended up rejecting the belief system of their upbringing? A lot. So people who believe have CHOSEN to believe.
May they rest in eternal peace. Those are Martyrs God give solace and peace to their loved ones and may mother Mary envelop other missionaries with her mantle
I will never be able to meet all the people I pray for Russell Brand, JP. Sears you and others and I know I am not the only one praying praying is as important as being a missionary.
Absolutely heart breaking. I do hope the Lord spared them from feeling horrific pain, and praise Him they are in His presence. But I cry for their families and what their parents are going through 💔😢🙏🏻
Praise God! Russell Brand articulated a clear understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ! He also has the precise understanding of repentance/ sanctification.😊
You don't need to be Christian to value life and to recognize the absolute cynicism of those that laugh at dead Christians who sacrificed themselves for the good of others 😢...
- was told and reported, back in the 1990's, that the President of Haiti, stayed in a palace in the mountains of and never spoke and/or intermingled at all with the people there
The way you (and I) feel about Russell Brand, is the way I am feeling about worship music. I'm tired of Christians ripping every song and artist that's had a brief association with B, E, or H. If I listen to all the rhetoric out there, I literally can't sing one Christian song on the radio. Do Chris Tomlin and Natalie Grant no longer praise the same Jesus that they have for many years because they sang at Joel Osteen's church? Or did they have a lapse in judgement? Can I no longer worship with Shane and Shane because they did a concert with a Bethel group? Ugh. I am excited for Russell Brand! I pray the seed planted in him is correctly watered and he grows into a mighty man of God, preaching the gospel to all who will listen! ❤
Bless those who are persecuted….Go and make disciples of all nations..it is crystal clear we are called to go on missions around the world, and some will be persecuted/killed. Prayers for the family, but the Bible is Crystal clear, this is praiseworthy.
We don't fear death, we mourn, and we know death is not the end, no, no, yes we are sad, of course, the word of comforts us, tho death comes, Christ is there with us, his angels come in and carry us, it's 🥲 just the beginning. FOR GOD didn't give us a spirit of fear, but soundness of mind, power, and love 🎉❤🎉. They did their job, and brought the kingdom to many. Preach the Gospel, for without it we would have BEEN already doomed.
Thank you for sharing this with love and compassion. They were doing a tremendous work for God and I believe it will continue. My heart breaks for their parents. There really aren’t any words for such a horrific tragedy.
USA and Haiti. For the USA, first was Declaration of Independence, second was War. For Haiti, first was War, second was Declaration of Independence. BIG DIFFERENCE. Years before 1776, the founders of the USA debated, argued, counter-argued about the requirements, attributes, qualities needed for nationhood, thus slowly forming a proper mindset and proper temperament of the american people for eventual nationhood. In the case of Haiti, there was first Rebellion, visceral Anger, most Righteous Anger, blood-churning lust for Revenge against the French colonists. War was engaged and won by the Haitian slaves. A war engaged without aforethought, without afterthought akin to a fight initiated by a hot-headed person driven by righteous anger. The war won, what now? Declaration of Independence of 1804 was the only valid alternative because re-inviting French rule defeats the purpose of the war. The key point is: in 1804 the Haitian people was not prepared for effective nation building. That the French came back in 1826, required and actually got reparations from Haïti implies that Haïti's independence was a façade, a joke. With Independence comes responsibility and the (supposed) ability to defend oneself. After 1804 Haïti built 20-odd fortresses about 5 miles inland: they would concede coastal areas because France had a Navy and Haiti did not. But Haiti got overextended with their invasion of the Dominican Republic (1821-1844). Ooops!!! But, but, but Haiti did not invade the DR, Haiti occupied the DR by INVITATION!!! Yep. In 1915 the USA occupied Haiti by INVITATION!!! In 1938 Germany occupied Austria by INVITATION!!! In 2014 Russia occupied Crimea by INVITATION!!! Independence Day in the DR celebrates independence from Haiti, not from Spain. Independence for independence's sake is a silly concept. Ask yourself: what is the purpose for Independence? What is the ultimate goal: winning the war? winning the peace? Since 1804 Haiti has been losing the Peace. A 5 year-old child is foolish to seek independence from the parents. Yes, France were terrible parents. There is/was no International Child Protection Services for Nations. So Haiti, the 5 year-old child, was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Bad Karma for Haiti. Haiti is still stuck between a rock and a hard place because of its own bad governance. In 1804 Haiti found itself in an awkward position: a slave-less Nation amongst slave-full Nations. No Nation, past and present, is 100% self-sufficient and thus needs to trade non-militarily with other Nations. Haiti needed to make itself an asset, not a liability, to the community of Nations. An independent Nation is an actual Nation even if other Nations do not recognize it as such. Look at Taiwan: despite not being recognized officially by many nations ALL nations want to trade with Taiwan. Taiwan is an asset to the community of Nations. One cannot say the same about Haiti. But, but, but Taiwan did not have to suffer the torture of French-style colonial slavery!!! Swing and a miss. The point of Taiwan, which suffered through Japanese colonialism, is that even when it is the object of the People's Republic of China's campaign to delegitimize Taiwan in the eyes of the International World, Taiwan is still thriving. But let us play the Victim Olympics Game. South Korea went through WW2 and the Korean War and by 1953 South Korea was in much worse physical state than Haiti has been in 1804. Yet today (2024 AD) South Korea is in much better shape than Haiti. Key difference: in 1954 the Korean people were more educated and civilized than the Haitian ex-slaves of 1804 who were utterly uneducated and very barely domesticated. Haiti had 200 years to civilize its population and no foreign power prevented the domestication of the Haitian people. Sorry Marxist revisionists: Simon Bolivar would still have accomplished his goals against Spain without Haiti's assistance; Haiti's token help was appreciated but it was not essential. Slavery in South America would still be abolished without the advice from Pétion. The USA would still have won over Great Britain without the 200-odd freed Haitian slaves who died in the battle of Savannah. The Marxist advocates for Haiti have lost perspective: the relevant issue is the Present and the Future, not the Past. The Marxist revisionists are stuck and lost in the weeds of the Past, grasping at straws, acting like some aged movie star looking at reruns of the very distant (and very irrelevant) glorious past.
@@thorpeaaron1110 you cannot chalk up all the issues Haiti has had to the French imposed debt…the original commenter very validly points out that the newly liberated rebel slaves were unprepared to effectively govern a people. Before the American Revolution, there were multiple small rebellions and uprisings where the British/local authorities responded with force or compromise. But when they signed the the Declaration of Independence, they had enough infrastructure and years of planning a new way government, not to mention a trained militia with established leadership. When the Haitian slave revolt happened, the French empire was too stretched thin and uninterested in retaining Haiti to expend anymore troops and resources. So France made a paltry effort at saving face by charging Haiti with a debt for their independence. If the Haitian revolution had been successful, they could not be forced to pay. Sadly, Haitian revolutionaries were mostly uneducated ex slaves left in an isolated harsh environment to scratch out a living in a brutal and chaotic place without organized government. Their isolation and lack of resources is the only thing that has kept other nations from invading

About your Russel Brand segment- I think he needs to be on your show, I would love to see an interview! It’s been so cool to see his transformation and watch him figure things out. Not everyone figures things out right away, Christians need to have a little more grace. It’s so frustrating when it’s the Christians condemning new believers for not understanding everything right away. It doesn’t draw people closer to God, it turns people away.
I just want to say, I love you and praise The Lord for your courage! May He continue to shine His Light through you and your show!! And yes if it be His Will and When, may Russell come onto your show - so hopeful for him!
31:38 _"the vast majority also practise voodoo"_ Not systematically, no. Not like Kat Van D before her conversion. More like that's one of the regular temptations when someone's not living his Catholic faith ... but usually not long term.
That also is the case in some Asian countries as well. I always challenge the practices of mixing witchcraft, witch doctors, psychic, and Catholicism when it is mentioned to me. I’m not Catholic, but do ask how that all makes sense together.
The husband’s family has been in Haiti for 2 full generations now, when secular groups have abandoned Haitians completely, they run orphanages and schools, let’s ask the Haitians whether their work is good or not.

Hi Allie! I was so touched and deeply saddened by this episode on the young missionary couple who were murdered in Haiti. Thank you for shining a light on that. I know another Christian missionary couple in Haiti right now and they have been in the process of trying to adopt a 10 year Haitian girl from the country for 6+ years. They have been legal guardians of her for 5 years. They are asking for anyone who will listen and advocate to the US State Department on their behalf. They need to get out of the country as well, but they will not leave their almost adopted daughter behind. They are petitioning for the State Dept. To grant them Emergency Humanitarian Parole. I can explain the process more. They would also be willing to speak on your podcast.
Why Haiti began and remains poor (pt 4 of 9). Response to some Marxist objections. (1) In 1804 there were embargoes against Haiti by France, England, USA. However these embargoes were quite porous since private merchants (English, French, American, Spanish) were still doing commerce with Haiti. In 1807 English abolished TransAtlantic slave trade and in 1808 England ended the Haiti embargo; by 1814 more than 80% of Haitian trade was with England. Besides in the 1800's England and Spain were at war with France so little military naval effort was focused on Haiti. Haiti had no military navy, no merchant marine so Haiti had no capability to pursue merchant trade, no capability to project military naval power on its own. Haiti was at the mercy of others for maritime trade. (2) Many nations, when newly established, were not given a "welcome basket" by the community of Nations. The USA recognized the USSR in 1933 and the USSR was established in 1917. And yet there was USA-USSR trade before 1933. The USA recognized the People's Republic of China in 1979 and the PRC was established in 1949. And yet there was USA-PRC trade before 1979. These trades occur despite ideological differences. These trades occur because the USSR and the PRC had goods/services to offer to the community of Nations. By 1804, Haiti utterly wrecked its economic infrastructure and had little to offer to trade with the community of Nations. (3) The American Occupation of 1915-1934 did not impoverish Haiti. On the contrary, the Americans built up Haiti's degraded infrastructure: 180 bridges were built; the Péligre Dam (source of 1/2 of the electricity) was started; Port-au-Prince was the first city in Carribean/Latin America to have an automatic dialing phone system; General Hospital of Port-au-Prince was built; 1000 miles of roads were built; the first Agricultural College was established in Damiens; Jacmel was the first town in the Caribbean to be electrified; US Navy built some 150 rural clinics; lighthouses were built; harbors were dredged; etc.. Yet, from 1915-1934, Haiti was still a low-export economy. There were a few American companies present such as United Fruit but their operations were small compared to their operations in Central America. 3 main reasons: (a) Legal restrictions on foreigners owning land in Haiti (b) most cultivated land was owned by small farmers (c) the small farmers did not work with American companies. In Central Ameica most cultivated land was owned by a few oligarchs and said oligarchs worked with the American companies. (4) Conflict of visions between the populace (ex-slaves) and the Haitian elite (White, Mixed, Black). The ex-slaves wanted nothing more than a piece of land and cultivate it for their basic needs. Essentially the ex-slaves wanted a Subsistence Economy, a Survival Economy. Nation building was not on the mind of the ex-slaves. Nation building was on the minds of the elite who knew fully well that Haiti cannot be totally self-sufficient and thus needed to rebuild the economy to produce goods/services to trade with other Nations. The elite wanted to rebuild the plantation system and the ex-slaves wanted none of that!!! Henri Christophe (Black) was able to impose the plantation system in the North but at the cost of raising anger of the peasant (ex-slave) class. The peasant anger became so great that Henri Christophe committed suicide in 1820. Ironically, Northern Haiti under Christophe (Black) became wealthier (relatively) than Southern Haiti under Pétion (Mulatto) who pushed for Land Redistribution, not Plantation system. (5) Marxists sweep under the rug the occupation of the Dominican Republic. Why? Because it does not fit the narrative of Haiti being a victimized innocent. Haiti occupied the Dominican Republic from 1821 to 1844. Haitian president Boyer confiscated all church property, all lands owned by Whites, and deported all foreign clergy. Oh, but that was the second invasion by Haiti; in 1805, the Haitian Army invaded the Dominican Republic, reached Santo Domingo, and made a fast retreat using the destroy and burn tactics much favored by J.J Dessalines. Why the retreat? There were reports that a French flotilla was coming towards Port-au-Prince. Even after 1844 the Haitians did not give up; for the next 12 years there were several minor military excursions into the Dominican Republic. Militarism, combined with Subsistence Economy, deepens Poverty. (6) Reparations to France: the Marxists' favorite bugaboo. Were the reparations the fundamental cause of Haiti's poverty? Answer: NO. Haiti was already entrenched in Poverty by 1826 when France demanded reparations. Mind you, the 1826 reparation demand was the THIRD request; the previous 2 were made to Christophe (refused), to Pétion (refused). The third time was the charm for France. Haiti's 1821 invasion of the Dominican Republic (DR) was a strategic error. Military adventurism and a moribund economy made for a very bad mix. France was not stupid. After 5 yrs of Haiti being stuck in the DR quagmire, France popped up (again!) and made the reparations demand. Haiti cannot fight both the French and the Dominicans. Haiti decided to pay reparations. France asked only for 1 year's worth of colonial output. In 1820, Haiti's output was only 1/40 of colonial output; that it took Haiti more than 100 years to pay the reparations is no surprise. From 1826-1844 Haiti plundered the DR of its wealth to pay as much as it can for the reparations. (7) Often politically driven programs do not bring Economic or Societal Progress. What feels good usually does no good. Embracing victimhood (politically popular as of 2024 AD) brings no kind of prosperity. Become a victim and win a prize!!! Victims of the World, Unite!!!
Walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongue’s and gifts of the spirit are so important so we know what is going on! So we can see and avoid the devils screaming!
My heart & prayers go out to the family and loved ones everywhere for the worldly loss of the precious young lives taken needlessly. But i have a question to you Allie or to anyone who could help. I keep hearing believers making statements after statements that the loved ones that left us are in heaven with Jesus, praising and worshipping our King face to face or things of that sort. There are verses in the Bible that say the dead feel nothing; the dead can't praise God or have feelings... And yet, we (including myself) keep saying how our believing loved ones are in a better place with their Creator... In talking about the believers who died in Christ, Paul said that the dead in Christ will rise first when the trumpet call of God sounds at Jesus' second coming. And then those who are still living "will be caught up together with them [the risen ones] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." 1st Thessalonians 4:16-17. If the dead are asleep until the trumpet sounds off, why are we saying our loved ones are in the presence of the Lord in their death? Please help me understand, thank you.
Please extend my sincerest condolences to their families. 🙏🏼

Amen
Lol in most of Europe christianity was spread by swords from the kings, like in scandinavia.....

Their reward is great 🤍
Some of the worst stories I’ve ever heard come out of Haiti…My husband and I donate to a ministry there
The problem is not their religion. The problem is the corrupt government. Voodoo has been demonized by white people, which probably causes friction between the native people and missionaries. What happened was terrible, but there is always a detrimental risk when going to these countries. A black man was also killed and nothing was said about him.
What was the cost of your trip?

Preach it! Thanks for bringing the truth to this story!

This is a sign of how Christianity has been portrayed in America, as a white, apple pie, and Jesus religion instead of what it really is. Also, the rise of new age spirituality doesn't help. The Church congregation/leaders needs to step up more IMO.
Their congregations need to start showing up for church board meetings and insisting that they do so or leave their office.
Even if you step up, you can't force people to be Christians or is that you want?

You never know how God is going to use this to help them. Don’t despair!
God has already won the war, it may not look like it in the natural but God is working through people like this amazing couple that answered the call.
@@GratiaPrima_I mean he can't really teach them a lesson the couple is dead now.
You don't know of all the lives that now are ready to meet Christ because of their influence. We are all just passing through. This is not our home.
Maybe we need to acknowledge the fact that Third World countries are far better off under "colonizers" than they are when they're ruled by gangs.
Amen
Wow as a full time missionary myself this one hit hard! I really appreciated how you shared what the martyred missionaries’ ministry was specifically doing and how the Christian label is misleading in Haiti’s case.
I believe God knows all things and he knows what it’s like to be human, but now because of what He did, we know he knows. So happy for Russell. Praying he grows in sanctification.
Allie, I just watched the episode on the Ellen Fisher podcast and you did amazing! I really admire how calmly and eloquently you explained the truth.
I have been to Haiti numerous times, in Bon Repos outside of Port Au Prince, part of their problem is the American Govt! They help to keep Haitians oppressed and take the money.
How so? Are they causing the gangs? How?
This is awful. Antiwhiteism must end

@@Zthepirategirl every people has done other peoples wrong, and every people has had wrong done unto them. We can’t play this collective punishment game, but we also just can’t keep admitting fault for past wrongs whether they happened the way we’re told or not. This is just antiwhiteism

*Let not pretend It isnt alive and well all over Europe, USA, and the rest of the 3rd world.*
Only difference is the USA still has many followers of Christ unlike Europe with its socialist ideology and various Catholic denominations et Al. Which is why that continent as well as Americans is heading fast toward the pit.

ASK THEM TO GIVE YOU THE TRUE STORY. IT WAS GANGS ASSOCIATED.
Good job reporting on this. Thank you. I was tempted to say, "Why don't Americans leave Haiti," but you have convinced me otherwise.

Thank you. All beautifully done.
Brilliant as usual, Allie. God bless. ❤
May they rest in eternal peace. Those are Martyrs
God give solace and peace to their loved ones and may mother Mary envelop other missionaries with her mantle
Amen!
I will never be able to meet all the people I pray for Russell Brand, JP. Sears you and others and I know I am not the only one praying praying is as important as being a missionary.

Absolutely heart breaking. I do hope the Lord spared them from feeling horrific pain, and praise Him they are in His presence.
But I cry for their families and what their parents are going through 💔😢🙏🏻
God bless those who lost their lives in His service. God bless and comfort the families left behind. This story is heartbreaking.
Preach it Allie!
Praise God! Russell Brand articulated a clear understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ! He also has the precise understanding of repentance/ sanctification.😊
This podcast made me cry, Oh Lord may your glory be known to Haiti please
You don't need to be Christian to value life and to recognize the absolute cynicism of those that laugh at dead Christians who sacrificed themselves for the good of others 😢...
Allie is such a great messenger of the gospel. She is so inspiring.
Prayers for their families.
- was told and reported, back in the 1990's, that the President of Haiti, stayed in a palace in the mountains of and never spoke and/or intermingled at all with the people there
Great episode Allie ❤
Loved this episode
Thank you, allie
We don't fear death, we mourn, and we know death is not the end, no, no, yes we are sad, of course, the word of comforts us, tho death comes, Christ is there with us, his angels come in and carry us, it's 🥲 just the beginning. FOR GOD didn't give us a spirit of fear, but soundness of mind, power, and love 🎉❤🎉. They did their job, and brought the kingdom to many.
Preach the Gospel, for without it we would have BEEN already doomed.
Praying for the families, Father bring them peace in their time of need, ❤ in Jesus name 🙏🏽.... We pray.
Everything you said is wrong
As a historian, I applaud your summary. Very insightful and neatly packages the tragic experiment called Haiti.
@@thorpeaaron1110how?
@@AdrienneJung.MThe debt did a number on the Haitians.
*I'm Indian and we still have scars from British Colonialism, which is why I feel the need to share that it's EXTREMELY important to spread the gospel in a way that's respectful to the local indigenous cultures (like how Apostle Thomas was when he came to India)*

This happened because they were Whte, not because they were Christian. And why don’t other peoples have to be respectful of Whte culture when they come to our nations? 🤔 we are too nice, that’s what it is

“I realized that I was immortal till my Master’s work with me was done. The assurance came to me, as if a voice out of Heaven had spoken, that not a musket would be fired to wound us, not a club prevail to strike us, not a spear leave the hand in which it was held vibrating to be thrown, not an arrow leave the bow, or a killing stone the fingers, without the permission of Jesus Christ, whose is all power in Heaven and on Earth.” - John G. Paton
I tagged Allie Beth in a post from a Christian missionary’s interaction with Russell Brand.
What's your opinion on this new therapy, "Religious Trauma"?
Religious trauma exists.
The embargoes played a role

Rejected Christianism? More than Half of Haitians are Christian. I grew up In Haiti, I grew up in LIzon.
Any true Christian understands that this life isn't the goal. Death in this world isn't the end of life, to the contrary....
