You can tell how good a band really is when they perform live. And BAND-MAID is absolutely phenomenal! There are more epic live performances besides this one in their channel. I encourage you to check them all out.
yeah i head thrill watched then daydreaming and bought all albums to listen trough on repeat .....then came Unlucky Morpheus and my playlist consits of those two now ....they conquor
These ladies have a lot of energy because this song was 22 out of 23 at this 2-hour concert, and your next Band-Maid should be Play from the same concert.
These ladies just kill it!... Especially live. They are extremely talented, tight, and they work crazy hard for one another. More Band Maid please, Real Existence live, Puzzle live, Freedom live, Wonderland live... Love your work! 🔥🖤
Not only are Band Maid an extremely talented group of musicians and vocalists - either by design or accident they or their management have also manged to surround them with talented stage and equipment technicians, sound engineers, mixing engineers, visual recording and editing engineers and lighting technicians. Having seen their attention to detail I am on the side of such talented support being deliberate and not left to chance.
@@stevehall5128 There certainly is, being professional and talented doesn't always mean making compromises. They have said their latest album is in some ways a return to the music they first wrote back in the days before success embraced them - only now bringing the added experience and skills they have gained over the years. I get the impression they are in the lucky position where they write and play the music they want to write and play. I don't believe any song they have wrote was written to just fill up album space. Of course it still has to sell. For my part Band Maid are very talented good old fashioned rock and rollers with sprinkles of Jazz, Punk, Prog Rock, Metal and numerous other genres thrown into the mix. To me Band Maid are like a breath of fresh air. But in Japan its not just Band Maid, there are so many good bands that unless you stumble on them you wont hear about. One of my other favorites being Maximum The Hormone although I missed their earlier work by years.
Best liveband right now... If you wanna see something what is missing these days and that not a lot of other bands do and what i personally really miss... Watch Onset (live) on their channel... Your mind is gonna explode after that performance. Nice reaction and Greetings from Germany
Sorry, I'm a little late for the party, lol! I see that no one mentioned that is song # 22 of 23, 2+ hour performance! The ladies definitely bring it at everything they do!!!👍👍🤘🤘🤘
Great reaction and they do change up the studio vs live on a number of the songs. For a band that started out as a live band, playing up to a hundred shows a year, they fine tuned their performance skills in front of their fans. This was the 22nd song of a 23 song set list. And as every fan will tell you (and the lucky that have seem them live), they are best live.
The duo between Miku and Kanami was meant to be between the pair of them - Kanami (lead guitarist) taught Miku how to play Rhythm guitar as part of the arrangement allowing them at Miku's suggestion to bring Saiki lead singer into the band. Miku felt her own voice (she was original lead singer) wasn't 'rock' enough for the sound they were looking for. I like to believe this was Kanami approaching Miku and saying -"Go for it - you can do it - that's it - you've cracked it". Of course that's just my imagination lol.
MISA!!!! MISA!!!! MISA!!!! 🥃🥃🥃B-M MV are very good but their Live videos are 10 times better in my opinion. A few of us that have seen B-M Live can tell you their energy level is very high from start to finish at every concert
There is a studio version on their channel. It is similar to this live, but the live was rearraigned and added on to. Just beware of people who recommend a "live" song which in fact is a fan cam version. A few songs are only available on YT that way, but the audio is usually horrendous, as is the video . As we all know, a phone mic sux recording! LOL
Band-Maid is simply amazing! I have not heard music on this level since the group 'Yes'. There is good music, and there are a few good bands, but this band is truly a tour-de-force on every level!
Nemophila - 《dissension》please! Nemophila is a band formed in 2019, but actually each of their members is from a different band, so nemophila is like a super band type🔥🔥🔥
Nice. Pretty much summed up many opinions on the band live. They are quite for real. I got a serious Old Grey Whistle Test vibe from your video haha. Stay real mate.
Checked out your other reactions. I liked them. You were wondering if they sang in English and Japanese - the answer is yes. I am no expert but I believe Miku (Rhythm Guitar and vocals) who writes the Lyrics will use English or Japanese words and phrases that compliment Saiki's (lead singer) voice and helps her reach the right notes as well as suit the music and tempo of the song - but as I say I am no expert and could be completely off base. They have several songs that are completely in English, two examples would be the more recent 'The Dragon Cries' and an older song from their back catalog called 'Don't Let Me Down'. They didn't write either completely by themselves. 'Don't Let Me Down and the lyrics, I believe, was recorded in their early years when the Studio had music written for them. To listen to 'Don't Let Me Down' on first hearing you probably wont realise it's in English because of their Japanese accents - this is not a bad thing if listening to it in the presence of an Aunt or female friend (me being unfairly judgmental on behalf of the female population here). Anyway when you hear the Lyrics you might be grateful if listening in the presence of anyone who is easily offended by sexual references. I believe the first song they recorded that was entirely written by themselves and put on an album was 'Alone' - this after pressuring the studio. Since then they write all their own music with the exception of 'The Dragon Cries' which I believe was produced in collaboration with Toni Visconti. Hope you enjoy their music as I do.
I think this is their second most performed song after Freedom and it was at the end of a 2 hour concert. You can see some fatigue if you look for it, but the crowd and the band still had plenty of energy.
TBF, most of their studio sessions have been squeezed into the rest of their busy schedule.Plus the overcompression on most that squeezed a lot of life out of them. All that aside, they clearly live to play live and it shows; there are a few songs where many people actively DISliked the studio version but felt differently about the live.
Counter question: after a video like this, do we still need to ask whether they are better live or in the studio? After this video, it's probably clear that the stage in front of a real audience is where the ladies feel most comfortable. Their true home. 🤘🔥 【 'Our rock never dies ever, forever!' - Band-Maid 】
Time for the drum solo? Band-Maid- Freedom (Live)... Same concert. 2-14-2020
Best Band, Best Songs, Best Solos, and 5 lovely people ! GO Band-Maid !!!!
Nothing short of the best live band in the world at this point in time.
After Kanami finishes her last blazing solo, Saiki sings, "Our pulses race together." Indeed! Band-Maid. Domination. Nuff said!
yup! we ALL LOVE THEM LIVE! they actually arrange the songs even more on the LIVE versions!
You can tell how good a band really is when they perform live. And BAND-MAID is absolutely phenomenal! There are more epic live performances besides this one in their channel. I encourage you to check them all out.
please keep reacting band-maid 🙏 I liked your reaction✨
And now you know what we're talking about!
All of their songs kick ass man... seriously. Also, check out Dice, Blooming, Moratorium (Live), Play (Live)...

If you want to see all of the musicians unleashed check out the live instrumental from Band Maid called Onset.
Best and my favorite hard rock band!!
Live BANDMAID is the best BANDMAID....the real deal right there

There is a happy medium between Milli Vanilli and some anarcho-indie band that insists on recording in a shed with a cassette boombox.

Yes Freedom is awesome and Real Existance live too.
Now you have to do 'Freedom' from the same show, it has a real drum solo, and then 'Real Existence' LIVE.
After Band maid I respect only groups who able to perform live.
On most of their songs...the ladies take the studio version and upgrade it by 100% for their live shows.....thanks!

Thanks djentlee!
They have so much good live footage with some really good improv too.

Raise your colors. Fly the BAND-MAID flag!
Yep.

They just put out the live version of Warning from their latest album. It's phenomenal.
Yeah. I see comments about it. Freedom for amazing drum solo

Check out Play Live which was right before this song. The rhythm section goes insane
Kanami is a genius....period.

You should check out Onset. It's instrumental only (also known as Kanami's pee break, lol)! There is a live version from the same show. Enjoy!!
No, they don’t sound live the way they do in the studio....they sound much better live! I don’t think you will find a Maidiac that will disagree.
