    For those heads that seems like plenty of cam I would expect it to run well past a 7k rpm peak should you choose to rev it on out.

    • @UnityMotorSportsGarage
      @UnityMotorSportsGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      bcbloc02, I believe you are right.. when you have great head flow the cam doesnt need to be as big! I really believe it will peak at 7000-7200 rpm.. Time will tell... Theory to reality!

    Having monstrous heads with just enough cam timing to do the job is the key to longevity. The OEMs finally woke up about this and all the heads from them are legit race heads. Those Hammerhead Hemi heads are stunning, by the way.

    This build has got me on the edge of my seat! Love the updates and the info shared. If all goes well, any chance you might try and take Casper to drag week this year? Would love to see this build in person!

    • @UnityMotorSportsGarage

      Thanks Brandon, I would love to give Drag Week ago, But it all depends on my transmission situation... Im going to start out with the C4 trans so I can do a comparison of Engine Dyno vs Chassis Dyno then its off to the track to see just how it all relates.. From there the plan is to install a Lenco ST1200 trans!

    Great video. Off topic question, I know you work with David Vizard...I have a chance to buy an old Superflow 110 manual bench for $975, it maxes out at 110 CFM at 10" water. Is it feasible to convert it to a full fledged bench with, say 400 CFM at 28" water? Or should I try an build my own? Thanks.

    These heads are all great and everything but what happens when your Hemi sb Ford starts kicking band X's (GM"s) butt on a regular basis? You get protested and outlawed by the competition. Ford has run into this before with the sb. Remember the Gurney Westlake heads used in the Ford Indy engines. How about the Cleveland/Yates heads, restricted by NASCAR and punished by the NHRA with weight rules. Aftermarket can build all the great heads to beat the General but the millions of racers running Chevy will protest these heads to oblivion. The same thing happened with the Ford 427 SOCH cammer, banned by NASCAR and restricted by NHRA so they can't compete with Chevy. I like all these great Ford world-beater engines but to compete with the General you need to build a better engine available to everybody, Ford is too late to the party for pushrod engines but the Coyote engine is kicking the General's butt every day.

    What does the really long rocker arm on the exhaust side do to your valvetrain loads? I'm expecting that the cam is going to have a heck of a lot of force on the exhaust lobes...

    • @UnityMotorSportsGarage
      @UnityMotorSportsGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Scott believe it or not, it is pretty stable! the only thing is the bit of extra weight on the valve side of rocker fulcrum.. which is why im running a bit extra of spring pressure... on a street motor with a solid roller I try to run 220lbs on the seat and about 550 over the nose... If the cam profile will allow me to do it.. That is why im running 240/625 on this motor Greg Brown has run this same rocker arm setup past 9000 rpm with issues... That gives me comfort as well...
