- Banksy has outdone himself. His "Devolved Parliament" painting just set a new sale record for his work at Sotheby's in London. The auction house expected the painting to fetch up to $3 million. When the gavel came down and the fees were tacked on, an anonymous buyer paid more than $12 million to take this piece home. Then between you, your siblings, parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents would easliy make over 12 million throughout the blood line. If you have to include relatives from centuries ago just to make up a total of 12 million in your entire blood line then somethings wrong.

It's called supply and demand. He bought this painting for 12 million but in a few years he might be able to sell it for 15 million simply because now it's valued at 12 million.

That's why Banksy paint these works of art for free bc he wants everyone, regardless of stature, to appreciate them, and not just to let them stay at homes as part of their private collection. If he still owned some of his artwork, I doubt he wants it for the money. But even if he did, I'm sure he would have donated them to the people who need it the most, especially in this time of crisis.

Historically, artworks were stored away in rich people's houses and never seen by most of the population.

Modern Art selling that expensive is the dumbest thing I know. I’m the divinci days. They custom created there own pigments and out of this world detail with little training. Still looks priceless to this day. Anything can be replicated and stenciled
