I bought a 2000 with tracks in 2013 for $7k (Canadian), and drove it across the ice to my 6 acre island. It creaks and groans a bit, but keeps on chugging along. I love my 20+ year old 6x6! When it gives up the ghost, I'll buy a newer used one.
I paid $7000 for my 6x6 2012. BRAND NEW 800 MOTOR! I think I might have over paid. All 6 new axles, new shock boots, new a-arms, new battery, 6 new tires. Nah, I'm good! I willing to offer triple what you paid for it. Lol!
OMG you buy the wrong battery and your first move is to grab a cutting wheel and start showering sparks all over a battery, bending and forcing it, when all you needed to do was set it next to the box, connect the cables, do your testing for the day and then take it back for the right battery later. I don't want to be within a hundred feet of you with a tool in your hand myself, much less with kids.
When you live in a small town. not a lot options you make what works or you wait for days. If it was something new and nice definitely wouldn’t do it. But a 500 dollar toy why not.

I enlarged my battery box to accept a car battery, more juice to run accessories lights and a winch.
Yea honestly the factory batteries never last!

Heck yea tracks be fun!
Wow.. brave man shooting all those sparks onto a battery.. BOOM!!
Good point! I’ve never had one blow up but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen
Make sure you check the diff fluids , mine started smoking, then stripped the pinion gear , NOT a replacement to be found!!
Good to know thanks
Awesome. Just bought one for $500. Runs, but not smoothly. Gonna replace everything you did. Think changing carburetor would help?
Check compression first before tossing money at it! A hopefully it works good for you
Why on earth didn't you get the correct battery rather than butcher the box?
Lawn mower battery $40 vs factory battery $160 and there wasn’t any in-stock. So 10 mins of cutting and welding saved my self over 100 bucks.
I don’t get it either.
Fresh gas and carb cleaner
👍
funny thing is. That hour meter is factory hah.
Haha go figures Polaris sure didn’t spend much time on it then haha
That’s a steal. Just picked one up today for $1,000 that needs work
Awesome hopefully all easy fixes
She was running hot at the end
Yea it was but haven’t had it over heat using it all the time lately works really good
I'd bet he never checked the radiator or fan
That’s not a bad deal for $500
No definitely a great purchase I use it almost every day
I have the same machine. What was the reason for stalling towards the end of the video?
Is that the 1999 model?
2001
