Try Jimmy Buffett, George Strait and others singing Hey Good Lookin a tribute of sorts to Hank Williams,Sr. This song with Alan was George’s last stop on his last organized tour. Drew the biggest indoor attendance record I think about 107,000 folks. The roster of guest performers was amazing and he did 2 songs with each. Even did a duet with is son Bubba.
they had a studio version this was performed at George Straits last live concert at the Dallas cowboys stadium on his retirement tour........the cowboy rides away
This is George Strait's last show before he retired. You need to see some of the other great singers that came up on stage with George Strait to sing with him one last time. Wait a minute I did forget that he is still doing concerts in Nashville Tennessee but he isn't traveling anymore for concerts.
Yes, Nashville murdered country music. I won't listen to all the new crap they bring out now. Love hearing the steel guitar and the fiddle players. If it is not in the new country music, it's not country. I came from Germany over here with my American husband. He introduced me to country music. First song I heard was He stopped loving her today. I didn't understand the words, but George Jones voice touched me deeply. He was my all time favorite. Now I add George Strait and Alan Jackson to my favorite list. Country music will never die. We have so many fans. Keep pure country going. I'm a life long listener of country. That is ever sense I came to America. Long live country western music. 💗😘🤩.
Indoor know how to put a link on a comment but you should watch the entire Cowboy Rides Away CMT special. It was George Strait’s last tour before retiring. All the great of country music come on stage and sing with him. It’s just freaking amazing. George Strait still does shows but he doesn’t do massive tours anymore. He’s a real cowboy though. He grew up ranching and he always sings at the PBR finals (bull riding) in Las Vegas every November.
now can you check out George Straits song Kicked Out Of Country,or better yet check out Jamey Johnson's,the co-writer with George on it,version because he tells the story of how and why it was written.funny story
In 1999 on the acma awards they cut george jones song short to make more time for other stuff which is a no no. George jones is country music there pretty much from the start. Alan jackson got pissed and used part of his time to finish jones' song. This caused this song to be written and in 2000 the next year they sang this song at the acma show. This song was written because what they did to the legend george jones the year before
I feel like you missed the meaning of this song... Maybe a little too "lit"... Too much focus on Alans height.... Also this song is 18 years old.. So they thought country music was killed by the early 2000s..... No wonder country wasnt country through the 10s
Yes, there are Lots of TALL country music singers.......Blake Shelton 6.5, Alan Jackson 6.4, vince Gill 6.3, Toby Keith 6.3, Hank Williams Jr. 6.2, Trace Atkins 6.6............these are just a few of them..........lots of big boys.
Nashville trying to phase out old top country music and bring it more into pop country most people don't particularly care for it especially the older people like myself
Alan Jackson is a tall Georgia boy and the GOAT of country music! George is second but Alan is number one in my opinion. He’s my daddy’s favorite so I was raised on him and know just about every word to every song. Love him.
I know country music has changed a bit but if you want to see a base of fans to get mad try to change country music into something else and you will lose a lot of fans maybe all of them because we are die hard country fans and we get upset when people come in and try to shake things up because there's nothing wrong with country music from back in the day in matter of fact it was the best.
If you hear any of their music vs what’s on any generic ‘country music radio station’ now you will hear the murder they’re talking about. It’s just pop/top 40 disguised as ‘country’😪
You need to get into some new less mainstream stuff! Check out Zach Brian, Colter Wall, Charles Wesley Godwin, and Tyler Childers. These guys are keeping real country music alive you gotta check them out.
Alan is a blood kin of mine. He's a good-sized fella, but he ain't mean like our side of the family. King george, and cousin alan the only 2 real country left in country. Maybe brantley gilbert too. He's a. Friend. Uga all the way
aye bro Sidhu is back can you react to his new moose tape teaser and trailer there is two he is coming with a new album on May 15 there is like 20-25 songs I believe
They were taking shots at Nashville's radio who refused to played the legends of Country music.
It's so good to see them both together their voices completed each other ❤
They definitely committed murder on music row- I can’t even stand country radio anymore because it’s pop with electric guitars and a snap track 😭
It's fucking disgusting and blasphemy. Alan's new album is incredible though! Bringing country back to life!!
@@Sainte305 Alan’s the hero we needed right now.. I’m loving his new album.
Amen!
It is a crying shame what the music industry has done to country music. Much respect for George and Alan for standing up for traditional country.
Such a great song with an even greater message ! Great reaction !
The irony of that song being performed on CMT.
And some of the people that someone, be it George or the network, picked to sing with him were horrible choices IMO
2 of the greatest country artist of this generation in my opinion
They also have a song together called designated drinker
They have many songs together
I love Alan and George.
He 6 foot 4
Lol your to funny. He is a giant. Both I’m height and fame. He is a legend. So is George.
No they wrote it as a special. And I cried when George sang the cowboy rides away as his farewell performance
Oh this song!!! Love this song so much and it is truer today than it was then
There’s a really good biography/documentary about Alan on Prime. Called “Small town Southern man” I believe

Give alan Jackson a listen to remember when you be amazed
I am so glad that you finally got to this song.
That is one of the things, artists will perform with each other or just sing backup.

Looooooove this! They are both legendary! This is nothing compared to both of their careers!! Keep digging! And yes Alan is TALL and built!
Alan Jackson did an excellent collab with Zac Brown on "As She's Walking Away".
It's a banger, trust.
✌😎
No one in the comment section mentioned this, but this is a cover of a song by the King, George "The Possum" Jones.
The two greatest ever.
Music row is a group of music publishers in Nashville, Tn.
Yes, great song! The truth! There is a new song out No Country Music For Old Men by the Bellamy Brothers and John Anderson
Great amazing song....................be water my friend
Not only is Alan tall, but George is short, 5'10"
5'10 is not short...Alan is 6'4, so yeah, he's gonna hover over George
Not only is Alan Jackson 6'4" but he was wearing what looked like 2 inch heeled cowboy boots.
There was a studio version, but appropriately, it wasn’t often played on the radio
now can you check out George Straits song Kicked Out Of Country,or better yet check out Jamey Johnson's,the co-writer with George on it,version because he tells the story of how and why it was written.funny story
They are singing about the old country music and how they have changed the sound of country music
I really enjoyed your reaction to this song 👍🏻🥰‼️ Two greats of country music 👏🏻💫💫🎤🎤🎸🎸🥰‼️

@@jackrhodes4440 ... So true 😊!

6" means 6 inches. Lol

Love them both

And Alan cowboy boots may have given him another two inches, lol!

When 911 happened he wrote a song called where were you ...but Toby Keith won that year for courtesy of the Red white and blue

This was the last concert of George Straits last tour
I'll never understand why they autotuned the hell out of the voices on that special. They sound like robots.
Always wondered that myself
I usually cant really tell... But its obvious as crap when Alan sings
I think it was an attempt to drown it the audience and distinguish the artists voices for tv
@@TorchMeetsWorld It's obvious as crap when they both sing.
Alan is 6′ 4″ in feet and inches and in Centimetres tall, he weighs about 185 lbs in Pound and 84kg in Kilograms.
Good to finally be in the end credits 👍

Todas country music sounds more like pop or rock than tradicional country music that's what this song is all about .
Alan is like 6'4 I believe without boots and hat
Alan is 6'5" George 5'6" .Song about killing traditional country music. I was turning to rock & roll. George &Chris Stapleton did a duet too.

I feel like you missed the meaning of this song... Maybe a little too "lit"... Too much focus on Alans height.... Also this song is 18 years old.. So they thought country music was killed by the early 2000s..... No wonder country wasnt country through the 10s
I remember thinking this had to be low key about Garth.
If it wasn’t, it certainly is fitting.
Alan, Toby Keith, Trace Adkins and Blake Shelton are all over 6’4”.
Man you should check out a real tearjerker of a song by George Strait called ( Living for the night )
