I drove the trailer into the roller shutter door and a few bits on the farm. tom-lamb.sumup... Link to my online shop for hats #farming #farm #agriculture #farmlife
Tom, can I share this with you. When I was a night driver I came back to the yard to finish and a Spanish truck driver had reversed a 47ft trailer thru the side of the refridgerated shed wall. He then unhooked it and left it there buried 8ft inside the shed and thru the wall. He then picked up his next trailer and left for his home run back to Spain. In the morning the shed boys had to unload the trailer thru the back doors of the trailer whilst it was still inside of the shed. Then we had to brace the roof from the inside and hook a unit on to pull the trailer out off the shed wall and send it off for repairs. The shed needed 6 new panels and 4 new roof trusses. When he got back to Spain I think he may have been sacked as no one ever saw him again....
We've all done something like that Tom. I started at Ford Product Development in 1970 as a third year apprentice, working in Environmental Test. We had four big cold rooms that could genging, o down to -40F/C (that's where they cross over). We had a truck tractor with an amazing 10 cylinder air cooled Detroit diesel that would start if you so much as looked at the ignition key. It was parked in front of the 20 foot high cold room doors, and had been running for an hour or so with a bit of metal on the accelerator pedal to keep the revs up. Rather than open the door and get in, I climbed up and leaned through the window to start it, and it was in gear! Remember I mentioned how easily this engine would start? It sat there hard against the coldroom doors with the back axels bouncing, and wrecked both doors. It cost £5000 to fix the doors, but my workmate had walked between the truck and doors a moment before this happened, and he would have been killed if the timing was a bit different.
That was a costly live stream mate, but great for content. 😄 Hoping to get our wheat off next week, Apparently I drew the short straw, I get the load recorder and pusher upper job.. So I will probably put the blade through the side of the shed.. Happy days 😬
Might need to build cages around them?! Or a red light On the dash, that shows if the trailer isn't bottomed put... Or no live streams in a building, when you're moving, lol! Might even let the better half drive, she hasn't ran into anything recently??! Thanx !
Mate, get a full replacement shutter. I'm a door engineer with 25yr experience. Do not re use that motor. That safedrive motor is designed with an anti fall back gearbox. After such an impact it is honestly not worth just replacing the barrel assembly.
Dear Frank Spencer we enjoy the videos you make as your alter ego Tom Lamb lol Oops Tom, more care less speed . Been there done that lol. At least no one was hurt mucka. Stay safe mucka 👍👍
Maybe your mate Colin could build you a don't forget the door light for your tractors when you have a trailer that is not down flat when leaving the shed. One of those flashing lights and maybe a siren too. Great video.
wooop wooop, Tom, ive learnt so much from your content. I am a city guy but would love to come and work on the farm to gain more experience and knowledge
Put an I beam up to stop going through the shutter barrel and the curtain. You can also use it as a tin opener on incorrectly sized wagons for the door. I think you might save the curtain, but its probably cheaper time wise to get a new taller one. Easy enough for you to fit with all your gear.
First time I've seen a fully opened door hit, used to be that someone would be on the small forklift then switch to the high reach but not open the door higher for it to go through. The other ones that springs to mind was when the long reach forks were put through a wall when were moving stillages, the same person also dropped a cage of gas bottles on someone's car
Morning Tom, I enjoy watching you, shame about the shutter door, to help out I have ordered a Baseball cap, keep up the good work, "Richard want to be a farmer"
Hi tom, to stop this happening again you could hang a "curtain" of lengths of 4" drainage pipe from the roof that are just below the max opening high about 2 m from the door, the trailer would hit these and they would not damage the trailer and the noise made as they hit would let you know the bed is still up, good lunch with the repair 👍
Or hang bits of scaffold pole from chains like a giant wind chime. Still won't damage the trailer, but anyone nearby would hear it know what nearly happened.😂
Sell some of your spring barley in little jars to fund your new door 😅 or you could sell "Tom lamb farm dirt"😊but after all that it was a great stream though, I really enjoy it.
HaHa Tom you need to pay more attention to the job when on a live feed lol... Poor door ! You need to do a " #Richard Cornock aka #thefunkyfarmer & pop a sticker in the cab "ROOF" or in your case "Roller Shutter" lol. It will give you another video project when you replace it lol..
Just as I was sitting in my jeep at a filling station watching you Tom someone just backed their van into the side of me . Hope you’re not a jinks Tom . Can I get a share of your door fund please 👍
My grandfather left me to move some junk in our gravel pit with a dump truck and the loader and I got a bad air leak on the brake canister so 12yo me had helped work on air brakes tons of times and I figured I’d change out the rubber diaphragm myself but I forgot a key step in my haste and instead of gramps being proud of me, ye was right pissed off about the large hole in the overhead door that the brake can made after I forgot the key step of backing the spring off before opening the housing, I can’t believe I was alive to have my gramps chew my head off because that nearly took my head off long before he got back
Arr guess it’s just an early harvest casualty. Somebody just driven a good 200 miles to my mates for an unloading auger off his old combine. Servicing the combine in the shed and you can guess the rest 😂😂
Tom , Stuck driving combine and tractor? Look to your own videos for the answer....call the pizza guy 😆 He loved it , sure he would come and do a bit and might bring supper
Do you have a licence for that crash?!? Where's your planning permission?? Jokes aside, luckily it was slow speed and no one else around. There's been a number of nasty accidents on the road just like that.
Ouch, that door doesn’t look cheap! 🫣 Just a question, does the grain get washed somewhere before it goes into making food etc? Was just thinking about any mud etc on the JCB tyres

Great content! Agriculture technology is definitely changing the game.

I hope it’s a good harvest for you
Logo suggestion for a new hat design. "MIND YOUR HEADROOM" with an image of a trailer
hitting a roller shutter... I'd buy one!
You may have broken the door Tom but at least you caught it on camera. Ordered my hats after the live this afternoon
Thank you so much
Might need to build cages around them?! Or a red light

Long but rewarding day Tom you have some lovely scenery and surroundings
Top bird you got there Tom lad 👌🏼
Great video Tom you won’t be the first one to do that I have except the door I hit was a lot more expensive than a roller shutter one 🤦♂️🤦♂️ 👍👍

Can’t you get him a deal go there fit it and get yourself on the Chanel 😉

Another great video! Shame about the roller door.
I get a kick out of seeing your wife ride along with you. That's really sweet.
Tom Lamb, he’s a farmer. And roller shutter door crash test expert.
Hat bought fella!! Chin up, every day is a learning day!!!

love the honest video Tom 🤣so easily done mate
Thanks 👍
Good job it was the boss that done it, eyy
Very good video, at least the damage wasn't too bad, and they say woman can't drive 😂😂❤
next hat, tom lamb - now we're breaking!
Great video Tom. That door needs fixing, so I bought a cap. Now we're farming.
You are a top bloke

Happens us all Tom, great videos, thanks for sharing 👍
I NEED a 'now we're farming' T shirt tom....make it happen
Get Colin to build you a pop-top shed😂
thanks for doing these videos Tom there bloody brilliant 👌

Imagine the combine could process the barley directly to beer, coming directly out of the combine. No grain cart, but a tanker.😃
Tom made a boo-boo... Now you just need to use the loader to do it one more time from the outside to get it back straight-ish again!
Another very interesting video Tom, I am sure you will have 100000 subscribers, in no time at all 👍🍻
Fingers crossed!
11:20 great content again ohdeer some one forgot to drop the trailer after tipping
You didn't break anything Tom just bent it. Hell of a whack! Hat coming soon.
Oh the bearings, forgot.
Another great video, fella
love ya and your work.
Farming Mayhem compilation.
Great video Tom
Did you know you needed a 3 piece ladder...? 😳😉
Nice tank top tom lamb 🤠
Just as I was sitting in my jeep at a filling station watching you Tom someone just backed their van into the side of me . Hope you’re not a jinks Tom . Can I get a share of your door fund please 👍
😂
Someone should put a post-it note on the Tractor window that reads TOM CHECK TRAILER
My grandfather left me to move some junk in our gravel pit with a dump truck and the loader and I got a bad air leak on the brake canister so 12yo me had helped work on air brakes tons of times and I figured I’d change out the rubber diaphragm myself but I forgot a key step in my haste and instead of gramps being proud of me, ye was right pissed off about the large hole in the overhead door that the brake can made after I forgot the key step of backing the spring off before opening the housing, I can’t believe I was alive to have my gramps chew my head off because that nearly took my head off long before he got back
You should sign and sell each damaged slat. Limited Edition :D
Arr guess it’s just an early harvest casualty. Somebody just driven a good 200 miles to my mates for an unloading auger off his old combine. Servicing the combine in the shed and you can guess the rest 😂😂
Love the channel and that is my GOD didn't make the perfect man and if he did I would love to meet him ❤️
red sky at night, youtubers delight
have you thought of fabricating some protection for the roller shutter doors?
I have now
Tom , Stuck driving combine and tractor? Look to your own videos for the answer....call the pizza guy 😆 He loved it , sure he would come and do a bit and might bring supper
New hat branding required, "Now We're Crashing ".
oh no
Don't you hate it, been there done that. Fact is If your not breaking stuff your not doing anything 😊
A roller door and fence post in short succession would take some explaining.
Note to self don't drool over a Claas Combine whilst tipping wheat. I bet father had something to say.
Do you have a licence for that crash?!? Where's your planning permission??
Jokes aside, luckily it was slow speed and no one else around. There's been a number of nasty accidents on the road just like that.
Are you doing and "oops I had a hit with the Doors hats😅"?
Tom, what are those pedestals for? are they to help aerate the grain?
Yes and keep the grain cool
When do we get a "ARRRggghhh BEE" hat?
You'll do anything for a sub or 2!!!😂
Did someone forget to lower their bin😂😂😂
Oh. Well done for content breaker.... sorry... creator of the year.
I saw that live, it was hard to watch lol
Still hurts
@@Tomlamb980 All it takes is a distraction. Going live for the first time classifies as a distraction. Lol
It doesnt pay to be on phone while working ,oh the poor trailer,
9:18 what is the pedestal for? Thanks.
Air flow
Oh dear ;-)
Ooops!
Oops
Too busy on the phone!! You fucked it mate….
How about a hat with now we're bending! You wouldn't be a farmer if you wern't breaking stuff
Schoolboy error there Tom, lower the trailer before you exit the shed. 🙈. Are the pedestals free standing? What is their purpose. ?
Yes they are to keep air moving through the corn to keep the grain cool
I won't ask you Tom what your dad said about the door 😊🤬
Apparently men can't multi task, the girls can. I'm not so sure, you can farm, and livestream. with a little mis-hap.
Ouch, that door doesn’t look cheap! 🫣
Just a question, does the grain get washed somewhere before it goes into making food etc? Was just thinking about any mud etc on the JCB tyres
Yes screened
