the only complaint i would have if i had to chose one, that would be that your vids are not long enough......but i dont think you could actually do one long enough as we would never get bored.....another top bit of content......love it mr lamb
Great video Tom don't mind the longer form videos mate keep them coming, I say. Love your content look forward to seeing what you have been up to on the farm. Great work, mate thanks for your efforts 👌
Smashing video Mr.Lamb and congratulations for your nomination and accession to the finals of content creator of the year. Best of British with that one ! I enjoy the longer stuff and insights to machinery and how you go about running your farm - more please ! 😊
Out of all the farming vloggers out there you are definitely the most relatable. Also I've been using Now Were Farming for years, even though I'm not a farmer. Keep on trucking Tom👊
Always wondered if it was a multi generational family farm operation. Now I know. You are quite the asset. The abilities you have certainly add to the progress of the farm.
Them oil tanks look good. I have passed on the details to where i work and the Guv seems quite interested. That Harrow looks a beast. Thanks for posting....
Only recently discovered your channel, honestly don’t know how I didn’t find you sooner. Absolutely brilliant, love your videos, your ideas are so similar to mine. Love improving things too. Im definitely putting a pit in now, such a game changer. Also love the mix of modern and classic tractors, that new Massey looks the business and that’s coming from a JD guy! Keep up the great videos!
New subscriber here from Oklahoma, USA. Saw you on Colin’s underground basement build and decided to check out your channel. Love your content, you do a lot of the things I really enjoy as well. Keep up the good work!
When you say, 'build your own pit' I think you forgot to prefix it with 'If you have a digger'. Or a back hoe, of course. We did have a small pit on the farm, but it was hand dug, and pretty hard work. Ours was only lined with breeze blocks, and probably not particularly safe, now I think about it. You did a stellar job with yours, and I love that you designed it from scratch before starting. Or did you get your ideas from seeing other pits?
If your vids are too long we will need to ask for a longer lunch break to watch them. Great content. That rake will be ideal for pulling thatch out of grass in the spring. I was hoping to get a sneaky preview of the cow catcher before your dad got it home. It looks like a great piece of kit to make the job easier. Well done all. 👍
Congratulations on getting to the top 5, let's hope you nail it. I like the idea of those oil tanks, only thing is ... the sight glasses look a bit exposed, I wouldn't fancy cracking them if the tanks were full, 900L of general purpose floor oil if someone accidentally drops something up against them, it may be an idea to cage them if possible. I love the tool area and the mix of old and new, you can never have too many hammers, they are everything from fine tuning to Brutus Maximus 😂
Tom Lamb, He’s a (BFA nominated finalist) farmer. And expert air hose handler!! You have defo got a nack for getting drone footage by the way!! Anyone can buy a drone but some of the shots you get are stunning by the way.
I reckon you need TWO pits. You know you want to. They can be linked to each other. And I'm sure you know what the 2nd one needs that you didn't get around to with Pit 1.
For those selection boxes of parts stacked under the beautifully tidied work bench clearly mark on the end that faces out what's in them. It saves having to pick each one up and read the top / look in them when you're busy working on something. The other thing I do with the blow moulded tool cases that some power tools (mainly the cheap ones) come in is clearly mark the top of the box so you don't open it upside down.
I definitely agree that having air plumbed around the building is damn handy (helps that I used to sell & install such air systems 😉). A few external/outdoor air points doesn't hurt either (as well as outdoor power points). We have separate systems for each building, because it's easier than running more airline between the sheds. Good thinking on the sideways-over-the-pit trick. Might be worth your while making a dedicated set of plates for your small equipment, in case the jacking beams are in use further along the pit (as your pit is reasonably long, it would be quite possible for you to put more than one machine over the pit simultaneously if you plan it ahead of time). Whoever is filming you is a good, steady-handed camera operator. I can't see your new cow catcher working in the scrub paddocks, so I might have to give that one a miss.
Oh, and what have I been doing? I had to field replace a couple of hydraulic hoses the other day. Yay. I love changing hydraulic hoses on dirty equipment. Apart from that, more slashing along the access tracks. It's one of those jobs you do on the farm when there's nothing else to do.
Enjoyed the vid, my only concern with bulk oil deliveries is there is more chance of an error being made by the supplier when filling your tanks. Wrong oil being put in the wrong tank, you have to put a lot of trust in the driver to select correct oil and not contaminate your tank. Nothing safer than to read the label on your 200 ltr barrel and pump it out. Also you can move the barrel easily to another location if reqd. I can see the advantages of bulk supply but not sure if my OCD would let me go that route.
HEY TOM great little live matey , OK , CONCRETE CAT T-shirt idea , cat walking through fresh concrete with oaw prints spelling out TOM LAMB. One of my better ideas I think
funny to think colin was plinky plonking lullabies to baby tom.....aarrrr.... 😁 remember going round with my uncle on his farm, we counted 27 hammers strategically placed around by his farm worker. we weren't bothered as mike was a pretty good welder so could fix most the things he bust 🤣
Moo moo moo 😂😂😂 only on your videos Tom. I can see that rake being used on the odd building sight to tidy after back filling 😂😂. Workshop is looking well Tom but how long will all the tools be in the right place.
Another great video, as always. Might I suggest a Bluetooth mic or two? It was very hard to hear the tour of the seeder / gravel rake, especially as the sales rep turned and walked away from the camera while speaking. Thanks
Nice workshop little question have you got an oil and water trap on your air lines going around your workshop just they stop a lot of problems great video thank you
All very interesting. Additions to your workshop; an air line reel so you don’t have a airline snake pit in the corner. What type of seed did you plant on the gravel? 😊😊😊
Having been in shops with air lines routed around, do you have shut off valves in the lines? If a hose pops it's handy to have a shut off near by. Dont worry about long vids, we will watch them!
@@johnwarwick4105 gotta run a hose from the connector to the tool, and the connectors can fail too. Bearings can pop out, the release collar can get stuck, all sorts of things.
Great video Tom you’re getting as bad as your dad for hammers he has 20 odd, in his life and you’re up to at least 5 already and there’s nothing wrong, with work rest and definitely play with Col hanging around with his amazing projects, and possibly a air grease gun for the work shop to save, changing cartridges a nice 25 litres of grease to use up 👍👍
Your ingenuity knows no bounds Tom, but you really need to double the HP on that seeding rake. Diversification of Agricultural Kit is the way forward. No chance of catching Sheep tho. 😹
Hey Tom hope all is well , White us that beautiful blue Mk2 Escort? Where's the video on that one? , as ever really enjoyed this week's video and congratulations on being a finalist in content creator of the year , well deserved
Always find it strange that the Witham oil lorry has the oil in drums then pumps it into the tanks. How do they avoid cross contamination in the delivery hose 🤷♂️. Be interesting to see how the cow catcher works when it’s a bit more lively than your dad 😂. Managed to con my young daughter into putting her head a new crush many years ago, she wasn’t impressed
I think your vid are a great length at 12-14min or so Tom. Allows me to check the weather or something and see what your up to whenever I stop for lunch and i dont end up falling down a 40min youtube rabbit hole! One question i did have, during your recent farm tour vid with GCS machinery, you mentioned you moved the farm from town. Maybe i'm a bit dense somedays but why was it in town to start with?
Trust you Tom, get a new piece of kit and you can't resist pushing the boundaries of what the Joskin can do. 😉. Tell you what though it made your gravel drives look like Japanese Zen Gardens. 🤔🤣. Congrats for reaching the finals of the content creator of the year.👍.
Will massey standby the warranty on the 8S if you use non massey branded oil in it,in my experience they will test the oil when it gets serviced to make sure you use the correct oil
Please make the Vids longer. What is that wiry crop you were bailing in a previous Vid be used for Bedding /Power Station or Feeding to your dads Beef Cattle?
Lovely down to earth attitude. Today's generation is missing some of that. Enjoying your videos!

Great job highlighting the benefits of agriculture technology. This is crucial for modern farming.
Fantastic video. Years ago someone asked the boss of the company I worked for 'how many people work here?' he replied 'about half of them'.
Great video Tom don't mind the longer form videos mate keep them coming, I say. Love your content look forward to seeing what you have been up to on the farm. Great work, mate thanks for your efforts 👌

You should have a red and green light above the pit for backing machinery in. Watch the light, rather than trying to hear someone shout ‘whoa!’

Perfect job of the gravel drive, now you can sow grass seed over it too.
Another excellent video Tom - you and your family run a very impressive operation!
Congratulations on the finalist nomination. Great video. As usual.

Just a thought - turning up the taps on the oil tanks will probably mean that you will collect all sorts of dust and detritus.
