Here we have a British lady who is the only one who has conquered Afghanistan in the past 2000 years, only armed with a smile. That is an amazing achievement since the time of Alexander the Great. You have done a great job. Old chap Charles should make you a Knight of the English Kingdom for such a great feat. You are an ambassador of humanity in Afghanistan. Good job.

It shouldn’t … But it does matter in this situation because this is the standard they use to govern their country with. The very reason why women are oppressed. These ideas of women not being allowed to be free come from this religion. Saudi just not long ago allowed women to drive. Afghanistan won’t allow women to get an education or work in some areas. Let’s not talk about Iran. It absolutely matters. It shouldn’t because what’s the point of investing so much in these amazing beautiful architecture but then you lack humanity when treating the women there.

Hey Carrie! I’m an American who wants to explore the world! My favorite thing about Afghanistan is, Afghanistan is where ‘lapis lazuli’ was first discovered. ‘Lapis lazuli’ comes from the Latin and Persian words meaning ‘blue stone’, ‘Lapis’ is stone in Latin and ‘lazuli’ is blue in Persian. Lapis lazuli is a blue gemstone known for its beautiful blue color. For millennia lapis lazuli has been mined across Afghanistan and Egypt. Lapis lazuli was shipped across the Mediterranean Sea to Europe, and it later became known as ‘ultramarine blue’. Lapis lazuli was more expensive than gold because of blue’s rarity in nature.

It’s a hard choice.. having been I now do not agree that it’s right to shun an entire country based on their unelected regime.. some people seem to think it will weaken the regime by ignoring them all.. its going to weaken the people even more.. the only way is to go, highlight, try and support the positives.. and try to get people to talk.. I honestly think this is the only way. I also think for locals to meet foreigners shows them what’s possible and you never know… they may start to question more loudly from within why their own women don’t get offered the same freedoms..

Hello sister I love your videos as an afghan I really recommending you to go to one of these 2 wedding halls in Kabul. 1 is called city star hall and the other is called imperial continental they’re both located in Kabul and are very beautiful I’ve never seen a tourist go there because they always miss out. Both of these wedding halls look very beautiful and look like Dubai. It will shock people if they find out it’s located in Afghanistan and your video will attract lots of people to people from the west and they will see the true beautiful Afghanistan thx❤

Carrie proves that people are just people EVERYWHERE. If you visit, travel, you will see that everyone is welcoming when you are respectful and appreciative of their culture. As we all should be. We should all embrace, respect one another and appreciate our differences and similarities. For generations our governments try to portrait people in some corner's of the world as "different" and portray them as our enemies. I would LOVE to be there with you. Meet the people and help them in any way I could.

I've read some of the comments below and am surprised no one was asking the question..."Where were all the women?" Obviously they are not far away as evidenced by all the children. Were they not allowed to come out? But I did enjoy seeing all the happy and healthy looking children, it was very sweet to see them welcome you...this strange lady who travels without her husband.
