VE Actuator Issues

    They are a C##T of a design.
    My ssv ve ute got a flat battery over night. And now since getting it restarted. When I turn the air con on.
    The drivers side blows air con cold air and the passenger side gets full on heat that you cant adjust. Its fully on hot.
    I heard it could be the blend recirc door broken & they reckon its the dash out to replace.
    I spoke to my auto leco and he said you take the front plastic cowling all off under your wipers and take out the cabin filter and you can can get the recirc blend door out that way. BUT its a skilful job and you risk breaking the new door fitting it back in if you don't do it right.
    Thats another way of checking if the blend door or blend door actuator is broken.
    Take your cabin filter out and if you can open/close the blend door by hand. Either the door or actuator is stuffed & that actuator is located up on top of the heater blower fan assembly and is a mission to get it in and out to replace too. FFS
    So I just brought the new blend door ($80.00 aud) and the 5 actuators at $50.00 aud a pop)
    And am weighing up weather to have a go at it myself
    Or just pay the leco to fit the lot and give it a A/C regas/service while he is going.
    Just to keep my emotional instability under control.
    He quoted me $400 just to replace the recirc blend door only.
    I figured if I have to replace 1 actuator, i may as well do all 5 of em and be done with it and keep all the old ones for spares as you can open em up and repair them.
    And the actuators and the blend doors are now getting scarce to get hold of, now theres no holden in Oz.
    I tried doing the actuator reset by holding the rear demister button down.
    I tried leaving both leads off the battery over night to see if that cleared it.
    I even went and brought a OBD scan tool and I had 4 error codes and they were all relateed to the HVAC system and 1or 2 from memory related to the blend door.
    Codes below.
    BO408-61
    BO228-2
    BO418-61
    BO238-61
    I dont believe its low A/C gas because everything was fine until I got the flat battery.
    I am guttered & all I can say is
    F##K Holden & their dodgie plastic throw away parts and cars.

    The HCM is in fault because the Recirc door actuator is reporting a fault, fix the recirc door first then everything will pass the re-learn process

    Hi Bryce, did you end up fixing this issue with your heater actuator? Mine is doing the same. Actuator is OK, but i don't have any heater control? Done several Cal to no effect. Thanks. John.

      Hi John. Did you end up sorting your issue? Having issues with mine not directing the air flow, stuck on demist.

      Hi guys, I have the same issue. Actuator works when hanging freely from the wire but not when it's connected to the gear.
      Anyone know why??

      Had to change all 3 to fix issue. Works ok now.

    I don't even see the problem being shown here? Its working on and off? no? You can re-calibrate all the fan settings by turning key to accessories and holding down the rear demist button for about 5 seconds. Sit in the car and you;ll hear them all reset several times over the following 20 seconds....
