You sir a a freakin' legend. Lube Mobile charged $100 to come out and quote me $997 to do this job. Holden dealers quoted $447 and $490. I watched this video, went to wreckers got the actuator for $100 add $10 for a set of torx keys from the big green hardware. Came home did the job in under a hour including regularly referring back to this video.
Hi Byron, great video mate. Easy to follow. Not so easy to do (coz I hadn't done this job before and I have big hands - hard to get into the small gaps in the door). But I got the job done and it all works just fine. So a big THANKS mate for the tutorial! Regards Gary.
Thanks for this tutorial, fantastic vid. This happened to me today on a 2010 VE. Couldn't find anything on your website, but managed to grab one from pick-a-part for $30 (appears to be an '08 part). Works fine, just a bit of an electrical issue, if the door is shut, it will open once, after that I have to lock and unlock again for it to open. It's a work car, I can live with that 😅.
I will be following this tutorial next weekend when the part arrives. I was quoted $1,094 for this exact job by an Automasters outlet. I still can't stop laughing
@thepartsfactory4239 I would have been fine with parts at $300, couple hours labour, job done. But over $1k is just a joke. Thanks so much for making this video. Can't wait to get in there and fix it!
Hey great video I'm just wondering what would cause the door latch hook to not close and hold the car door closed the lever latch itself is not staying closed so the door won't stay closed. Hard to explain but yeah
My door worked fine, radio wouldn't turn off when turn car off and open door. Have just done the swap with new actuator from you, only thing is now can't open the door handle drivers door. The handle doesn't budge at all. 3 other doors checked and they move even when car locked. Opens ok from inside. Have tried disconnecting battery for an hour or so, same when back on. Cant open driver door from outside. Radio cut out working fine now too.
@@thepartsfactory4239 yes it does. all else seems fine. Just reading on Holden forum about a relearn process for actuators but thread is for Aircon. Will keep reading more.
Can anyone help, I’ve just replaced the actuator but the car door still does not lock or unlock via the key or button inside. I have a series II VE sv6 wagon. Not sure what to now do
@@m0rthaus me either. Thanks for the reply. I ended pulling out my old one. Opening it up. And reset all parts to make sure they were sitting right. Door has never opened and locked so well. Can definitely be repaired. With care and before pictures for reassembly.
Twisting it to the left from the right you mean. Don't need to replace with new dudes. Just pull apart. Reassemble internal mechanisms as the arms jump where they can not return to open the door and get stuck at times. The reassembly fixes issue. Just take photos. And rebuild trace steps.
The guy from mister minit have contacts that can do the installation for $420. Duplicated my secondary key from him but driver's door won't go all in the key he made. So he said something wrong with the door and he recommended me his contact. So 25min job probably not worth over $400 😢
@@thepartsfactory4239 haha cheers for the quick reply. I had 1 extra screw that I had to cut through some of the upholstery to get to in the middle. Ended up getting it sorted though so thanks

Does this fix the lock mechanism with spinning key?
Thanks. Actuator gave up in our VE today. Am looking forward to following this tutorial to put the new one in.
Great guide, easy install and works. Now I don't have to open and shut the door 20 times to turn the radio off

Sounds like the actuator is automatically re opening. Adjustment of the interior handle maybe?
Nicely done...I can attempt to replace my faulty mechanism soon.
thanks mate, this video was helpful :)

Thanks mate, simple easy to do myself, bloody mechanic charged me $80 just to tell me it was broken 😡
Haha yeah that sucks!
Probably need to pop that URL in the description :)
Hey boss, will I have to replace actuator if just the inside door handle doesn’t open the car, or is the another way to fix this issue
i've replaced the actuator, closed the door now it won't open from either side hahaha....any idea what i can do to get it open again and fix this?
Im after someone to help ive got a ve series 2 key spins in lock, lock actuator works..

why my commodore locks with remote control but not with the key thanx
What about the rear door though? The Window railing makes it impossible to take out.
ok the lock rod has to go on the actuator bugger did it today done different I try again next week
Hi Champ, How much does that door lock cost?
$153 30 with free postage. Thanks
what about the rear door? seems like the lock actuator was installed before the door was sealed?
No no it can be removed. I've done it many times
I have a VZ commodore 2006. Does this unit fit my car?
No sorry
Thanks broda
Watching this because my sister refuses to buy a camry like me.
So here I am replacing stupid Holden garbage parts.

Do you sell rear right hand actuator for 2010 model?

Sounds like the interior door handle is holding it stuck open. Check installation again
Did you unplug the battery to do this?
I did not unplug the battery when I did mine, experienced no problems

I just had the driver side rear actuator go on me. Looked on your site and it appears that you’re out of stock. 😩
Sorry :(
@@thepartsfactory4239 any chance of knowing when you will get more in stock?
My door card must have some secret bolts on the inside cause it won't budge
Nah it won't. Make sure you've followed my steps and if you have, use a pry bar to pop the clips
