    I watched 5 videos and didn’t know how they work let alone test it properly, when you explained it, everything made sense and it helped me diagnose my issue on the fuse panel box/ computer .. thank you

    Rather than hopelessly trying to find a rare and intermittent problem an old INT 650 SPDT 5 pin relay, I suggest you do what RE is now doing in all their 2022 bikes and that is to use simpler and more reliable SPST 4 pin relays. I replaced mine with Bosch 0332011007 SPST 4 pin relays like in the latest model 650s and so far it looks like a big improvement in starting and reliability.

      I changed all the relays a few months back to the 4 pin type. No stalling issue after that. Thanks for the tip!
      However, RE did not replace them for free even though they admitted that the 5 pin relays were the cause for the fuel pump to glitch. I had to purchase them and replaced it myself at home.

      Thanks for the tip! There is another glitch that I've noticed with both my Interceptor and 535 - If you turn on the ignition, then the kill switch and don't start the bike for let's say a couple of minutes, when you go onto start it, the fuel pump relay starts acting up. I have no idea why this happens but this glitch has happened with both my bikes.
      I'll switch to the 4-Pin relays too I guess.

      I have same issue in my 2019 interceptor and recently changed the relays. I just realised they have replaced with 5 pin again. Today my relays failed again and having fuel pump not priming. Will 4 pin fit my old model ?

    • @oldgeezerproductions
      @oldgeezerproductions 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ZCthecook I'm sure the 4 pin types will fit. It is possible you are having fuel pump problems, but relays are cheap and you could try it. You might also try swapping relays first. I have found that holding the starter button down for a second or two with the throttle fully closed while starting seems to help. When I do that, the engine revs for a second just as if I had opened the throttle. When the engine revs on its own like that, it usually starts immediately and doesn't die afterwards.

    This is a Standard Relay, with change over contact. But only one contact is used. Bosch or Hella, ect. If you are looking for them in Europe.

    Sir my dealer asked me to change from 5 pin to 4 pin on my gt 650. Is it advisable? Actually they said I need to get the micro pin, I hope this is the one they're talking about.

    • @eb_reviews
      @eb_reviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, there are 4 relays being used in the 650 twins.
      Each one is a MICRO - 5 PIN relay.
      The part number is 585681/B
      Moving to 4 PIN relay may not work depending on where it is used.
      There are 4 slots for the Relay. Please check with your local mechanic to know the function of each relay.

      I cleaned my relays and sockets and it helped, but I would still get a rare engine failure and sometimes it would take turning on and off the ignition switch before the engine would start. 99% of the time my bike was reliable, but quitting on me as I was taking off worried me.
      Today I received new Bosh relays in the mail and I immediately installed them. Because I wanted a simpler acting relay that would be more reliable, I chose the single pole, single throw (SPST normally off) type of 4 pin relay rather than the DPDT 5 pin from the factory. The electrical circuits don't use the other pole so it is an unnecessary complication. So far I haven't had a single failure to start at the first touch of the starter and (it may be my imagination) the engine seems to run smoother and stronger while zooming down the road. I can't wait to see if my gas mileage has improved too. The kind of relay I recommend is the Bosch 0332011007 and available through Amazon -- cheap. By the way, earlier today a customer brought a brand new RE Cont. GT in for its 500 mile service and while it was in the shop, I cleaned his relays. The relays RE is using now are the 4 pin SPST relays like I just installed in my own bike.

      All the Relays ae 5 pin, why are they shifting to 4 pin? What is the year of your bike? I have upgraded the relays on my bike and its good so far.

    What is the functions of relays in bikes.?

    • @eb_reviews
      @eb_reviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Basic function of a relay is to open/cose a circuit from main battery to multiple circuits like sensors, fuel pump, starter motor, etc when ignition is on/off. This avoids battery drain and short circuits in bike or car.

    Sir fog lights is legal in bikes?

    • @eb_reviews
      @eb_reviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can install and use off-road or in foggy conditions. Not legal on road. Police can fine and cease vehicle if caught using inside city.

      @@eb_reviews sir can we use in highway or in village areas?
      And plz tell me 12v 8ah battery is enough to use halogen fog lights or it will drain battery?

    • @eb_reviews
      @eb_reviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rithiksharma91 Halogen headlight is 55/60 W. If you add 2 more halogen fog lights of 60w each it will definitely drain your battery faster than it is being charged, it will put stress on the stator coil/ RR unit and battery life will reduce.
      If you are going for Fog lights, go for LED and mount them at an 80 degree angle facing the road not more than 2 feet from ground level.
      There are people who mount it on the handlebar which is utter stupidity and this is why cops are fining other riders who use it within the law.
      For your other question, interstate highways are dangerous and its better if you have more visibility. Plus trucks are a constant hazard, you can use it but switch off on single lane roads to avoid blinding opp traffic. I'm not the one to tell you if its legal/illegal. But use as per need and consider your fellow drivers eyes.

      Also, these relays are usually used in cars as per my experience. You may get it at the auto parts store.
