Ast the cards don't effect much at 90 to 100 cause we have a large kit by then. But this changes the leveling process for new players giving tools in the kit sooner.

Are there others who think that the Seraphism ability just doesnt look like a SCH look? Its jarring to see the character go from green AF gear to white bright robes. Thought white robes was more of a WHM aesthetic.

I kinda wish the Seraphism would change its color scheme based on your glam, but I think it works the same way like RPR's cloak where everyone would look the same when transformed. I wouldn't mind if Seraphism resembles something more like an elf fairy transformation, though.
The ability itself is cool, I just don't like the visuals. I'd like it a lot more if we just grew some fairy wings (maybe Feo Ul's wings?), like WHM's Temperance.
As an OG AST back in HW I am happy to see the unique cards back. I feel like they do need to switch Lord and Lady though since the dumb ass 2 min burst window still exists.
im kinda on the fence with astro changes, for one im happy that it's no longer just brain dead purple blue damage to melee or range, and now i get a little more brain stimulation, but realistically i just want my burn mechanic back, now that was fun an engaging astro gameplay. edit: honestly at this point i dont even care about getting more dps rotations, if they want to make the game not require healers on the lower levels of the game, ie dungeons and trials, then honestly instead of giving us more heals, just make our class a support class not a healer class, and give us back our stoneskin and protect, give us support skills that give haste, reduce cast time for all allies, or attack speed for melee, i really feel like that would be a good direction to head in.
The issue with the card changes is a lot of the time the support cards will just burn. You will rarely need additional ST healing to begin with (especially if you have SGE as co-healer) on top of your already excessive 5 OGCD with 3 ED 2 CO.
IDK, but I think it would feel nice to have "3 modes". Maybe I'm crazy but I think the new SCH is going to feel pretty fun. To me we have three different modes, summoning Sereph, Dissipation and Seraphism. Idk that I would want Dissipation to work with Seraphism because while it would be stronger heals it would probably be too much and making those two skills work together would remove some of the choices I guess. I'm still lvl 82 so idk LOL! the only thing im pissed about is "WHERE ARE MY FAERIE WINGS????????" you take away Selene. Take away Eos faerie wings (when she turns into seraph) and now WE get friggin angel wings too.. i literally only play this game for big heals and faeries. give those basic looking wings to them WHM and give me some faerie wings.. call its FAERISM and clock out! The issue is all the new "utility" cards are effectively worthless. It's all ST healing focused when you already have 5 OGCDs dedicated to that and tanks are ALSO getting buffed in their self healing/mit. This also raises concerns where they can't realistically balance AROUND you having these extra mit options because WHM doesn't have them and the fight HAS to be clearable by a WHM.
Playing astro FOR its complexity is mad annoying, because every iteration since stormblood has been them needlessly reinventing the wheel while also gutting the skill ceiling. Minus the removal of card RNG. We didn't need it. Square Enix needs to stop making hard jobs easier, we already have easy picks, and the players who can't handle the harder jobs shouldn't make it everyone else's issue.

Exactly, I’m doing AST for story, to test it, as well then not needing to suffer leveling it up via dungeons bc ik the changes are gonna be horrible, and once I’m done with MSQ, instantly switching to maining Sage. AST has been my main since HW, and I still can’t fully accept the fact of I’ve basically been forced via this changes to stop playing my favorite job in the whole game, insanity. I loved how fun it was in SB but understood it truly had too much rng, okay, fine, ShB was the perfect hybrid between healing and shield, okay, remove it for Job healer role being more solidified but still keeping its card identity and rng. Now in EW it felt like we hit a sweet spot on being somehow still hybrid between shields and heals, and having our fun constant satisfying card draw, giving us MP per draw, Astrodyne has huge self buffs that make us also have infinite MP pools for those very needed heavy res moments or heal check spams, our hotbar is clean. In DT, screw the card rng, it’s now stagnant, no more multitasking, have a 1 minute draw, hotbar gloat up our buttocks for EVERY SINGLE CARD? Our MP via drawing is gone with the wind alongside our Astrodyne buffs too???? Nothing to compensate? Oh but have this 1 op aoe mitigation ability, and prettier new animations, enjoy WHM 2.0. What the actual shit is going on? Even on paper this is just nonsensical, the job multitasking identity has been compromised and it’s borderline as simple as WHM. We can have Jobs that have lower player numbers guys please we don’t need equal amount of player count, not every job is meant to appease to every player, this is why the homogenization is happening, it’s too much trying to easy access each job! Absolutely ridiculous.

Really wish they'd address how much of an inchohesive ability salad SCH is. Dissipation at least mechanically makes sense but is just a dated mechanic that locks you out of 8 abilities (including Embrace) in order to gain 300 potency in damage without raid buffs. Despite being an oGCD based healer, only 1 out of 3 of its healing buffs affect them (not including Recitation, which is great). Seraph locks you out of 2 faerie abilities which is just ??? two expansions after being introduced. And Seraphism requires you to be in combat already which is really weird when every other healer's big 3 minute ability doesn't require it, but that's more nitpicky. Still gonna play the job in raids, but I'm starting to increasingly believe that the code for SCH is particularly shaky and would self destruct if they tweaked it too much under the hood. Hence its current state.
They shouldn't add piety on every healer gear, they should increase the scaling rate of piety, so that piety gives more MP/m, in its current state its barely doing anything, that's why its bad. And inb4 that would make healer's have inf mana, no it won't if they add a diminishing return. That would encourage people to get some piety, but not have a cap at which its inf. mana.

The new card system is the antithesis of what an Astrologian is supposed to be, what the unlock quests and job quests literally tell you. The future isn't predetermined, you divine the future and use what you glimpsed to try to influence the outcomes. Getting one of a variety of buffs to apply to the right target at the moment is what Astrologian is. But of course, raiders and people who only care about numbers and homogenization-but I repeat myself-are delighted about this. Screw fun, who needs that in a video game! Muh parse! Muh parse!

They have to remove the Damage cards to give us freedom to hold or use the utility cards when we want, until we have the Dmg cards, we need to keep Draws on CD throwing some utility out.

If you play ast and you use Macrocosmos for damage, then you are a shit healer. No two ways about it. Macrocosmos is easily the strongest healing ability in the game, and the dmg potency on it is shit. Throwing it away cuz "healer do dmg" mentality is actually smooth brain thinking.
If you use Macrocosmos for damage it's equally likely that you just don't have need of a heal that potent, depending on the content. Using macrocosmos for DPS in dungeons or extremes is totally normal.
Not to be mean to Momo, but on Astro he says that it sucks that they're removing the skill ceiling of that job, but on the Scholar he says that it sucks that it'll get "harder" for casuals. I get that both jobs are different and should have different ceilings, but at the same time, if the problem is adding or removing the ceiling then the player should just literally get better or adapt and not the game adapt to the player.
Also he used the example of Zoe + Prognosis 2, but you don't use Zoe as an opener anymore, you use it for heal checks with oGCDs. If you use Zoe and Prognosis 2 on opener, you are wasting heals.
The raids are badly designed - just add more consistent damage to make healers.... heal.... crazy shit! Balance the raid around DPS doing their job, and healers healing.
I would be all in favour of it if we got haste and mp regen cards back, but these ones are just kinda ehhh. The whole game of "Who should I put this on" is just gonna be the tank, always the tank for the healing cards. EW cards were dull but it still had some of the decision making you get with astro and I feel we've lost that now.

The dps were the ones complaining the most about haste buffs from AST.

I love the astro changes. Even though it was "random", it was the same card pretty much. Now your more of a support healer than just a buffer
Astro already has single target barrier, mitigation they have healing these cards are worthless single target bloat
I would be all in favour of it if we got haste and mp regen cards back, but these ones are just kinda ehhh. The whole game of "Who should I put this on" is just gonna be the tank, always the tank for the healing cards. EW cards were dull but it still had some of the decision making you get with astro and I feel we've lost that now.

I'll be honest. Astro changes look sick. Don't give a flying fuck about what the 1%ers moan about. Developers need to stop developing the game for them and their playstyle. It killed a decade of video games. We need to stop listening to feedback like 'BUT MUH DRIIIIIIIIIFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTT'
