I love the idea of solar quartz in a high quality case and think this titanium case is really sharp. A thinner, reliable, lightweight, and nice looking watch has great appeal to me. If it were $1500 I would probably buy one today.

Have one and I really enjoy it. Looks even better in person. Love the angles with the matte finish. But, the dial brings back some pop.. just enough. Super comfy... And, accurate, of course, but it REALLY is. It does not have tool-free microadjust. But, the quick "easy extension" adds just enough breathing space when I need it without being too loose.
I sort of appreciate the fact this may not be for everyone, and thus a rarer sighting in the wild which is a plus for me.
It is rather pricey. But, in addition to the great things I like about it, the price tag goes with a widely known luxury brand and a distinctive design which should be immediately recognizable by those who know.

Me neither. Love that a Swiss company is actually doing this though, because not many seem to be able to. There is a market for quartz, it being more accurate and durable. But it better be special for a quartz. It’s 9F territory price wise. Do they calibrate each movement for its specific crystal’s thermal variance? It is a chronometer (+-10s/year)? Made to be serviced and to last a lifetime?
I have a feeling the Swiss don’t really know how to do quartz, or care to do it properly. It’s a rip off. But so are in reality any Swiss luxury watches in the first place too. Really, automatics aren’t actually any more innately better in this regard. With a bit of luck of the draw you can have an automatic Seiko that runs like a Rolex once it’s adjusted, for a hundred bucks. It’s indeed a whole different league obviously. Not saying they’re anything like the same. Only that it’s obviously also not 50 to 100 times the price kind of different. That’s just brainwashing from the Swiss.

Overpriced, yes. Everyone easily say "seiko, citizen, or casio offer something that is equivalent to this at 1/10th of the price", but I beg to differ. Design-wise, this watch is quite unique; notable brand, nice iteration of heritage design, sandblasted titanium that gives an everyday tool watch vibe, easy wear sub 40mm size, a somewhat luxury-ish but simple dial, and mini diver extension feature. Tudor Pelagos39 falls into a similar category, maybe. Anyway, I would pick this model over steel Aqua racer with Selita mechanical movement, day and night.

I agree with you about the design but it is definitely an overpriced watch. If they have put a Citizen high accuracy solar quartz from the Chronomaster lineup, it would have been a better value proposition but this movement is a run of the mill eco drive movement you find in $200 citizen eco drive watches. Plus the grade 2 titanium nothing to boast about, Citizen super titanium is superior and still costs less with different finishing on the case. Same question here.
I wish someone would crack one open, to check the movement.

There is a lot to like...but at this price, no micro-adjust and pin and collar links are now unacceptable. I have never owned a TAG Heuer but have never really understood the watch geek hate.
I do not "hate" quartz but I would rather have an auto if all I am getting is a 3-hand + date. If I am getting a quartz, I want some extra features like the Breitling Aerospace, Seiko "Arnie" or any G-Shock.

Pin and collar is the best (safest) way to secure a watch bracelet. Yes, it can be a bit of a pain in the neck when it comes to resizing compared to most screw-pin bracelets, but still.

There is a hidden one hidden quick half micro adjustment link on that watch. The reviewer missed it (or he had a prototype that does not have it).
There is also 3 level classical micro adjustment on the buckle.

The seconds hand doesn't like up with the indices. Terrible for this price

I love the design and the materials of the watch but I still can‘t justify dropping 3k€ for a quartz watch.

Ha! They need to check themselves. Pin adjusted bracelet, no tooless micro adjust. So basically you’re telling us to buy a citizen? A much more valuable watch with better heritage. Seems like this was more of a pat on the back for them trying (but failing) to make a good watch.

Why should we care about a quartz movement at a similar price point as high quality mechanical movements? I don’t get it.

      A really cheap Quartz movement.
Accurate and reliable, but very basic.
