Speaking of the 3 series price point, I really wish someone would make a video discussing how manufacturers began this thing with introducing lesser models...thereby pushing what was once the entry level model and the models above it, further up the price scale. The 3 series was once the entry level. BMW then comes up with the 1 and 2 series.... now the 3 series is the former price of the 5 series. Then add the 4 series to push the 5, 6, and 7 series further up the rungs.
Absolutely not, I’ll be fair I think mechanically it is by ergonomically. It seems awful. That screen is one piece that looks tacked on as an afterthought, the double door cupholder in the rear is just stupid and not having a spare, I don’t agree with even though many cars do that I expect a spare at near 67K Pros- -MARVELOUS ENGINE - GREAT acceleration/handling - good styling in and out

I don't think anyone mentioned it, but, the extra sound of the exhaust note was probably being piped into the interior. You can adjust that in the I-Drive as some reviewers have mentioned. Otherwise, that is a phenomenal car that I would love to have. The 330i is also a great car, albeit with a slightly lesser engine.
Love this car. Lack of physical buttons is not a big deal at least for me - I got used to the display within a few days. And the voice prompts are excellent - barely need to touch the screen at all.
especially the latest one, it's so extreme it's basically a super car with the speed. IMO too much for a daily, M340i is the sweet spot of power/price and you can actually put your foot down for more than .5 seconds without going jail speeds
single biggest mistake BMW made on this refresh, was going from a two piece drive dash and center stack to a single glass that is so poorly integrated. it looks like a complete afterthought just sitting there with gaps all around. makes the 2020 that much more desirable
MT got 3.8 0-60 in the 2020 M340. Also, I’m assuming there was only the driver when achieving this time. The Brooklyn grey and red interior is the best combo offered today…also the Portimao blue with oyster interior.
If you have a guest speaker in your car, give them a mic as well. You sound all clear while Tommy sounds crappy. Or just drive by yourself. You will get more accurate 0-60 readings that way.

Only thing I hate is all the hard buttons they got rid of. You now have to menu dive for climate control. Not safe for a lot of people. I can see people getting into accidents trying to fiddle with panel while driving.
@@JDMHaze Fuel pump has always been an issue on BMW. My fuel pump went out on me in the middle of the highway in my 335i and almost got me ran over by a semi.
Another great review. Personally my favorite esthetically attractive car's are now this new 3 series, the M240i, CT5 V and V Blackwing, and G70. Audi is a bit too boring, not a fan of Mercedes and the Acura TLX just doesn't look as good in person to me. Lastly, I didn't like the Romeo, S60 Volvo drove like a fwd boring sedan and the Q50 is super outdated.
Lack of ventilated seats is NOT an important factor for me when selecting a sports sedan…cannot understand why this alone upsets so many people…I buy this car to DRIVE!
Much improved? Cheaper interior layout with messy os8, no laser lights anymore, no proper gear knob. Plus Chinese tunning looking like exterior changed. What else has been "improved"?
Much improved except for the lack of ventilated seats as an option… still. The only 3-series with ventilated seats is the M3, yet the 4-Series offers them as does the X3. So dumb.
Love my 2021 M340xi! Driving mixed between sport (+), adaptive and eco, I avg 25.9 mpg. My 2018 averaged 22 and change. More importantly, it pulls like crazy from 75-135… or so I’m told 😉 Adaptive suspension and staggered, summer rubber is a must. FUN FACT: Disabling traction & stability control allows the M340xi to perform donuts like a rwd car 👍🏻

Great review! Just one thing: the interior is not Sensatec, but Vernasca leather. You can upgrade to Merino leather, which is nappa leather, but the M Sport seats (shown on this car) only come in the regular Vernasca leather.
I regret buying the LCI m340i. Hate having to use the touchscreen monitor for everything. Hopefully the better handling allows me to better avoid an accident while using idrive8, which also gets glitchy sometimes. If I could trade/sell this for a $3-4k loss I’d do it, but unfortunately probably would have to take a bigger loss.
These are reliable for the 1st three years. You buy new or lease for a few years. If plan on owning over 5 years find a reliable German mechanic do not get it serviced at the stealership.
I know German luxury cars are meant to be leased (at least here in the US) but with all of the tech and engine innovation I wonder how this car will fare in reliability. I imagine more parts = more problems
not a fan of iDrive 8; huge step down in terms of usability compared to iDrive 7. Removing the shortcut buttons was the poorest of all decisions.. Also, while the car looks futuristic with the big screen, it no longer looks premium compared to the models with iDrive 7.
Why are so many people so fascinated with ventilated seats ? Not a big deal. The car is brilliant in terms of engine, power, MPG, etc, it excels in issues that matter as a daily driver. Great performance with good MPG and AWD
Nobody mentioned the fact that the car has a faulty gps system. When connecting to iPhone with carplay, car is giving faulty location making Apple Maps unusable in the car. Therefore you cannot use navigation in a $65000 car. Apparently this is a known issue that has not been fixed. I will be looking into legal action on my new m340i.
I had a 2019, wonder if they ever changed the black interior plastic louvered piece that runs in front of the back glass. Mine had horrific noises in the sun, very loud crackles and pops the whole time driving. I had it in the garage, and as soon as I pulled it out and the sun hit the back, it heated this piece up and cracked popped in the sun. As soon as I hit shade, it would cool and pop more cooling off. Very annoying.
Everything looked great until the fucked up climate control on the touch display. Pretty annoying for a passenger to be able to comfortably change it as the car moves in speed.
I would go with 2022 or 2023 540i X drive which is not built in USA And 5 series has way better built quality and larger,luxury,enough performance car !
Why give the Hybrid system in Volts? Without the Amps, you can't calculate the KW, without the KW, you can't calculate the Torque or HP, which is the only meaningful information when discussing an electric boost motor in a hybrid vehicle.

They probably feel like it drives itself and it sets the climate control based on the drivers key.
Yeah that part is annoying but a lot of people dont know that you can just set the temperature using voice command. So you dont need to press anything

Correction I see, the seats are “leather”with blue stitching. Also, the interior exhaust sounds mostly coming from the speakers.
