Great performance by Xu Xin! I believe this is his first major championship title. Hopefully, this World Cup win will give him the momentum to do well on the next World Championships and Olympics.
Oh dear. No semi finals available? I've got quite a few comments to make on that match, namely the psychological / tactical plan to close up a match. Hope to have it on the best table tennis youtube channel soon.
Sorry I am out of date... I really don't understand the rules in serving anymore... are you allowed to stand on the side of the table as long as you serve the ball at the end? And I thought both umpires need to see the ball at contact?
As long as the ball is served within the width of the court at the baseline, I believe that standing at the side of the table is not a problem whatsoever.
★★★★★ Despite Xu Xin’s defeat by Samsonov last year in the Liverpool Olympics, I’ve never doubted that Xu Xin CAN beat Samsonov decisively like here in the 2013 World Cup, and that Xu Xin will beat Samsonov again and again until it’s business as usual like Maestro Ma Lin did. Now is the beginning.
He was almost there in 1997 beating 4 Chinese in a row but lost to Waldner. He actually needed Swedish coaches who were more advanced technically than the Chinese in the late 80's-90's.Persson had a pretty similar style.
@@dickn.ormous1064 You are right, during the 90s the Europeans gain back some glory, and Waldner won twice the World Championships. Waldner trained in China when young. Samsonov in his prime years (19yo - 31yo) was ousted 4 times from World Championships by Chinese players, so in my opinion if he would have trained in China some time he would have got more chances. Not just by acquiring Chinese techniques but because he would have known his adversaries better.
@@janovewaldner1 He lost to Kong Linghui in 2001.He had no business losing that match.Against Ma Lin he didn't have much chance anyway. For a guy with his touch he kinda neglected the third ball attack game.Schlager with his kamikaze tactics could be more of a threat to the Chinese despite being much less consistent.
Everybody could benefit from a chinese formation, but Vladi always had a natural talent and now that he his old there is no doubt that he has mastered tactics and concentration. Here he is 37 (i think) and the year before he won the same event ( staged in England ) to also Xu Xin !!!. Maybe a chinese coach would have come in handy in some key matches when he was 20 to 30. years old.
Happy birthday XuXin. January 8th,best wishes for you with countless success with such a nice playing style in a brilliant cool manner!
Very nice fairplay at 05:40 of Samsonov and next the little smile of Xu Xin.
Thank Janus so much!!!
They played 20th century fox theme song as the ending song?!!? hahahahah

2013 Men's World Cup (Ms-Final) Xu Xin - Samsonov Vladimir [HD] [Full Match/Chinese]
we will talk of that again when xu xin will have his 15 years in the world top 10 live vladimir did
Xu Xin serve does seems very suspect here, none vertical toss into his body which also obscures the contact point.

It is hard to believe that samsonov had beaten xu xin 10-0 before after watching this
Samsonov isn't getting any younger against his rivals.
杨影这解说真是,还不如没有
真想看 Samsonov 拿冠軍

What about the hidden serve rules?
shogrran ur not allowed to hide the ball on contact of serve
Josh Mac hide the ball from both the umpires? or just one?
ITTF camera guys never get the view right. Spectators see the play in continuous motion not chopped up into different angles. So stupid.
Where is Zhang JK Ma Long Wang !!! And Timo was not in his best form ! What happens ?
サムソノフかわいい
Do u find Samsonov Vladimir serve is weird ???

解说的真有问题, Samsonov 绝非等闲之辈,解说根本没看明白Samsonov的厉害之处, 只会巴拉巴拉。

Nice game number6.
без вариантов для Вовы - возраст , он в 100 раз медленнее
+Vladimir Monomah там для всех "без вариантов")))
I guess that if Samsonov would have trained and coached by Chinese when he was young he could have been a world champion at least once by now.
