Backspin can be a great weapon against attacking topspin players, even at the highest levels. Hou Yingchou and several other modern defenders are capable of beating all but the very best of the Chinese team.
HYC also has an effective weapon in his forehand attacks, which can come unexpectedly off long backspin pushes as well as slow spinny topspins.
    Very entertaining to watch.

18Aug2023.. Two BEST SIDESPINNING MAGICIANS are southpaw penholder Xu Xin and a right handed shakehand grip holder Hou Yingchao.. both are my favorite!!

This was the National Championship Man's Single final several years ago, Hou Yingchao beated Wang Chuqin with straight sets. This was because the final was held only a few hours after the semi final in which Wang outplayed another top chopper Ma Te with 7 long sets and did not have enough time to recover.

@@dellywang6668 This is a local competition and Hou went through same process. Fair and square. Believe not only Small wang lost to Hou but many others in the whole nation and mean Hou is the champion of the nation is it not? Best in China and what they have best then ! What so bad about Small wang losing to the best man in the land and still need to make excuse? He is just a JUNIOR then. 4-0 in a final is not an easy feat for Hou and should not be played down. Btw, if memory nvr fail, Hou won the same completion 20 years back and before Small wang even born. it was tougher then with the small ball and with the array of playing style including liu guo liang and kong ling hui.

Guys, this is a flash back; 2019 Chinese National Championship (close tournament). Hou is an ex-Chinese player from way back. His unorthodox pimples are still causing a lot of unfair headaches to current rubber players. But if he plays them too often, he'll have no advantage.

Then Wang CQ was suspended from going for Intl tournaments so he stayed behind, and w/o those from the national squad such as Xu Xin & Fan ZD playing in this domestic event, he was stopped by this Unker? 🤣🤣👻👻
