  • I got the opportunity to go to the N&W steam reunion at the Strasburg Railroad. I was there on the 27th and the 28th. I had a great time at this event, and I met a lot of nice people there aswell. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. (sorry if some of the clips aren't that good, I am still new to this)

Saw her in real life, I was in the ride right before she jumped the tracks. Don’t remember which days, but she is a beautiful engine.

She really is a beautiful engine, I actually watched the crew trying to rerail her after she jumped the tracks.

1:02 Also anyone know how the bell is ringing since it'll literally right next to the piston rodes?

there's a mechanism inside the bell the uses air to ring the bell

@@southernpacificproductions530 interesting but kinda of an odd place to put the bell in my opinion

@@atsfevan0242 When the Class J's were originally built, the bell was placed atop the boiler, inside the streamlined casing. After 611 was rebuilt in 1982, the decision was made to put the bell behind the pilot so the crews on the ground could hear it.

@@trainmaster844 ok then? But i still think it would of been better if its on the boiler

@@atsfevan0242 Again, think about the logic behind putting the bell there.
Would you be able to hear a bell that is entirely muffled by that skyline casing?
