As the Reading and Northern 425 was backing into Jim Thorpe, this idiot walks right in front of the train. You can hear me in the video screaming, and I was pointing at the train like crazy. He noticed 425 coming at him and he ran across the tracks. I still don't understand how he didn't hear the train. This could have ended very badly, this man could have tripped or not have noticed the train ...

I got the opportunity to go to the N&W steam reunion at the Strasburg Railroad. I was there on the 27th and the 28th. I had a great time at this event, and I met a lot of nice people there aswell. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. (sorry if some of the clips aren't that good, I am still new to this)

Earbuds were a huge mistake. The guy who invented them created a whole culture of foolishness found through nonchalant behavior and “vibing”. Frankly, I think that there should be laws against walking/jogging with ear buds in. Many lives would be saved by banning the use thereof. People, who would then be forced to pay attention, wouldn’t have to cheat death like this dude just did.
And if you say “But Tezi, what about personal freedom?” I’m conservative and believe, strictly, that we have the right to choose how we live our lives. HOWEVAH(in my best Marisa Tomei impression), you not paying attention could cause another person a lifetime of grief. In a case study I did of the tragic death of Mary Wotjiyla, I noted that her hurried state, met with the distraction of completing her divorce, lead to a lack of situational awareness. This ultimately not only tragically caused her death, but also resulted in the Engineer of BN 9912(a GE EMD E9) falling into a depression. His refusal to back his train up was met with instant termination by the company operating 9912 at the time. Her lack of situational awareness caused a man a lifetime of grief. So before y’all say anything remotely similar to “But Personal Freedom This” or “That”, keep in mind that your lack of care for your own safety can put a heavy burden on others around you.

The 4449 looked like that for the filming of the movie “Come See The Paradise,” which takes place during WW2.

this makes me wonder how on earth are people so disillusioned that they think they should blame the railroad for not installing warning signals when its their responsibility to look out for trains
