So far. There are some districts that have started following the modernity of BGC. BGC was created with a good combination of political will of its management together with multinationals or local and foreign businesses.
Hello Dany. I am a new fan of yours from the Philippines and I subscribed now to your channel. I love your videos in different places especially in the Philippines. Keep safe 😘😍
Aside from BGC there are 16 more business districts in M.Manila like Aseana, Ayala center, Ortigas Center, Filinvest Alabang and 12 more .try to visit also the other business districts they are beautiful also.
Think it's the public transport that explains why there are fewer tourists in metro manila compared to bangkok or even kuala lumpur. The train system is really convenient in some other asian countries. Once the new train lines and subway become operational and that bay area at the back of MOA being developed with somehow similar concept like dubai, more people will come in.
Am living in Philippines 17 years. I remember that it was just field in BGC. LITERALLY nothing. And how it grew in just few years. Philippines very progressive. Things changing and developing. Which is very nice to see.
The Singapore vibe may not be coincidental due to the fact that a lot Filipino architects helped design the buildings in Singapore. There's so many of them that a UAP (United Architects of the Philippines) chapter was eventually formed in the city state. On top of that a Filipino was also involved in the design of their Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's residence.
So it is not the Filipinos copying the architecture of Singapore. It is that Singapore was built by the architecture of Filipinos. The Singaporeans will not like to hear that.
@@wavemaker2077 it doesn't matter if they won't like it. LOL. Like many architectures in the Middle East like Saudi Arabia, many Filipino architects designed the buildings in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait.
There are many ambitious projects in Metro Manila that might poop out our eyes especially the proposed reclamation in Manila Bay. When the subway will be opened, Manila will be quick to travel and could help to boost the economy.
I just wish that they extend the subway up to Alabang. The south of Metro Manila doesn't have any mrt, lrt or subway. It's cut off from the rest of Metro Manila. Well, there was a train but it's too old (and hence the current rehabilitation) and the direction is towards Manila City which is not anymore the center of commerce.
I really wish the ongoing subway lines are already done and the public transportation are way more efficient. BGC and the other business districts like Makati, Ortigas, Greenbelt, Eastwood, Alabang, etc are all disconnected to each other. Travelling through heavy traffic, specially during rush hour in the Metro Manila area can be a challenge.
Metro Manila has improved in leaps and bounds. It still has a lot to improve on but its changing so fast. I have lived in Metro Manila since 2004. I have lived in Makati (Guadalupe Nuevo area, Washington St, Rizal area) and IMandaluyong (Barangka area) and I have seen the changes and the improvements and the buildings of condos and highrises. Im Mandaluyong the Pioneer area specifically I have seen that place from a dark and gloomy manufacturing area to a now stunning and worldclass CBD. The area along EDSA Boni ave MRT station has seen days of construction on going since I lived there. Riding the MRT from Pasay Station all the way to North EDSA you will see the breathtaking skyline of Metro Manila from the difference CBDs of the metro. Right now C5 is becoming the next EDSA when it comes to stunning skyline view.
BGC and MAKATI still better compared to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok to be honest.i been to all ASEAN capitals and now i am living in MAKATI CBD and i would say it is far better and organized compared to Modern part of Kuala lumpur and Bangkok.
You forgot the fact that Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur have more foreign visitors/tourists than the Metro Manila districts(Makati, BGC etc.)itself. Having a business districts doesn't make a city better than the others🤣🤣🤣
usually in the PH, if we're not really sure about the price of a certain thing, we just add plus (+) at the end of the average price, just like the waitress in that cafe, who's not sure about the price of a large cappuccino so she said "200+" well, in fact, she's really telling you "around 200 to 250 pesos".
Dany Dev - In Makati,PHILIPPINES NICE TO SEE YOU BACK,SEEING YOU WALKING ALONG modern street of Makati vlogging ,recalling comparing any sign of progress the last time you’ve been in Makati, any change.Prices of well breed dog tremendous I notice.
I never get tired watching all your vlogs, quality content and classy. You show the world how comfortable it is to stay in the Philippines. No more language barriers. Filipinos are friendly. The food is good. We have a global city. Take care Dany. We love you.
Dany is not a fan of PH, his heart belongs to Thailand ahahah. Whatever. Ive been to BKK, there are more buildings and massive tourists… it’s fully booked. It’s like the locals are outnumbered with white tourists. And more and more lady boys everywhere. Sometimes i feel home is better than that. Though i feel that BGC and any other developed areas in NCR are more organized than BKK.
BGC indeed is the most modern and commercialized area of the Phillippines while the economic and the financial center/hub is in Makati city, you're not mistaken in visiting those places brother👍👍👍
its ok if The Philippines🇵🇭 is not many tourism like neigboring places and other countries because over tourism also creates conflicts with locals, socio and environmental impacts.
but when it comes to comparison to other major ASEAN cities like Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Jakarta. i would Say Manila CBDs are topnotch it really looks western cities like Miami or Toronto super developed but BGC is far cleaner and safer.
a little tidbit, In the Philippines, when the rain has thunder and lightning, it won't last very long, it will stop within the hour or the next. but if there is no thunder, that rain can last days or even weeks.
American here! We dont like malls as much as you seem to think we do, they've actually been on the decline for long over a decade. My city, one of the quickest growing in the states, has two. And another in the immediate suburbs. Only one has more than a handful of stores open. You know who does like malls? Filipino people. The BGC is a very Filipino area of you understand what they enjoy!
Judging from the foot traffic the last time I went to a mall in Glendale, CA and also Santa Monica that surely is not the case coz there were folks there of various ethnicities, White, Black, Latinos, Asians etc. Other than the ones in Vegas, which also was quite lively I haven't visited malls elsewhere in the lower 48 so I can't speak for the situation there. Liking it and having a reason to go there are two different things. Average household incomes of Filipinos is 2nd only to Indians in the US If I'm not mistaken coz a lot of them work in healthcare which is a relatively high paying stable industry than other sectors of the economy and that accounts for their purchasing power. Just look at malls in the rest of Asia and you'll find them just as filled with people as they are in the Philippines maybe with the exception of China nowadays due to their economic crisis. I get this impression that Americans don't like malls mainly because they don't like crowds but it's the opposite with not just us Filipinos but also Asians in general. But one thing though, I hated going to Disneyland coz they were obviously accepting far too many customers than they can handle for the rides.
Malls in the US are in a decline because the prices in US malls are expensive. There's also not much to do in US malls than to shop. Fine dining restaurants are scarce in the malls in the US. But you are right that mall going is a very Filipino culture. Maybe it's also because there are a lot of things that you can do in Filipino malls.

Practically every travel vlogger I've watched pass through Metro Manila says they prefer Makati over BGC. But the reason is precisely because of that - they're passing through and looking for what gives them the most unique local and cultural experiences. The ones who actually want to make a place their residence though would prefer to live in BGC over Makati. As far as Bangkok or KL vs Manila, Bangkok and KL are just more efficiently run, safer, and on top of that, cheaper to live in than Manila. Of course, those are not the only factors that make a person want to live at a place but those factors are tops for me.
Hiya Dany, I've seen all your and Liza videos on the Philippines and Malaysia. I plan to move to one this November from southwest Florida. I'm older and retired. Which do you recommend and why? Thanks in advance! 👍
Buddy, it would be more interesting to see you having a tour on Business districts outside Metro Manilasuch as: A) DAVAO City's Business Districts: 1. Davao Abreeza Business Park (Ayala 1) - Bajada area 2. Davao Pryce Business Park - Bajada area 3. Matina IT Park Davao 4. Davao Global Township (Matina) 5. Davao Park District (SM Lanang area) 6. Lanang IT Park 7. Azuela Cove Lanang - (Ayala2) 8. Central Downtown (underground wiring of local govt), and the Night Market. B) Metro Cebu also has: 1. Cebu Business Park 2. Cebu IT Park 3. NuStar Business Park 4. Mandani Park, Mandaue City They're a must try outside Manila.
You haven’t seen yet eastwood, araneta center in cubao, alabang town center in muntinlupa also Ortigas center also the one on Paranaque city - aseana city of dreams
I'm glad Araneta City is stepping up, they were the first CBD but they were left behind. I like the development happening recently in Araneta City. Eastwood is tiny but nice place to walk around.
I just remembered that there was this British vlogger family who lived in Makati last year. Like you, they preferred Makati over BGC too. It was their first time in Asia and I think they were testing the waters to see if they could live here. Unfortunately, they eventually decided that they're better off in the UK. I think it's harder to relocate if you have small kids like they do, more so if you move to a very different country. I think one of the things they struggled with is the weather, esp. the parents who were also on the chubby side (which makes it harder to cope with the heat I think.) But anyway, I remember they did stay here for almost a year. And they were able to rent a small condo unit in Makati which was fairly cheap, but good enough and with a nice view.
i disagree. Ive been to BKk, how can it be boring, there are massive tourists. perhaps you didnt have money to go around ahahaha. come on. Accept it, BKk is more lively and more progressive than PH.
BGC is waaayyy cleaner and safer than NYC. The only thing I would miss that BGC doesn’t have are theater shows. I enjoy catching a musical when in NYC. But otherwise, BGC is so much better.
It's more considered as the Big Apple version of the Philippines while the Wall Street version is Makati city itself though both districts are New York alike...
Technically, most of BGC was owned by foreigners, foreign investors & enterpreneurs, so they literally control the whole BGC area and designed it to their own like in the states.
Hey Dany, you gave a great commentary on the BGC district, showing a modern and classy view. Your relaxed and genuine style stands out, in contrast to some other vloggers who seem stuck in a nostalgic view of the Philippines as if it's still the 1960s. It's 2024 now! That district is ultra modern though I agree with you that Makati City is more homey. Best time to visit my country besides summer is between December - February if you are up to breezy blue sky days. By the way, the BGC district is located in Taguig City, within Metro Manila. I mention this to avoid any confusion for foreign tourists who might mistake it for being in Manila City. Peace!
You're absolutely right. The tagging caught my eye right away. I'm with you and many others on this. On the flip side, It's really frustrating seeing foreign vloggers misrepresenting Manila's slums as if they're emblematic of the entire Metro Manila. Hopefully they could do proper research next time. 😁

Great video. I like your perspective. It’s fair to say that BGC is still in its infancy stage. It will grow more. The entire country is in a facelift mode. 2029 is the year that all the projects will be in fruition. I grew up in Quezon City and I have never been back for 32 years. I will check the islands when I get back in 2026 and really reunite my indigenous culture!
BGC is actually boring place to live. For expats who are working in the Metro Manila I would say maybe.literally after a while living in BGC it becomes boring. Makati is the best place to live, you have a Close Contact with the locals people and feel the real Customs of the Philippines. The Makati Area has so many direct link to different cities without worrying much of the Traffic hassle and dazzle. Makati has more public transports going to and from different directions. In BGC the traffic is so daunting you go in and out of BGC in one direction only.

I disagree with KL
Hiya Dany, I've seen all your and Liza videos on the Philippines and Malaysia. I plan to move to one this November from southwest Florida. I'm older and retired. Which do you recommend and why? Thanks in advance! 👍
Buddy, it would be more interesting to see you having a tour on Business districts outside Metro Manilasuch as:
A) DAVAO City's Business Districts:
1. Davao Abreeza Business Park (Ayala 1) - Bajada area
2. Davao Pryce Business Park - Bajada area
3. Matina IT Park Davao
4. Davao Global Township (Matina)
5. Davao Park District (SM Lanang area)
6. Lanang IT Park
7. Azuela Cove Lanang - (Ayala2)
8. Central Downtown (underground wiring of local govt), and the Night Market.
B) Metro Cebu also has:
1. Cebu Business Park
2. Cebu IT Park
3. NuStar Business Park
4. Mandani Park, Mandaue City
They're a must try outside Manila.
Enjoy vlogging from Bacolod City Philippines
And they had a nice pool area in the condo too btw, which the family loved.
BGC are topnotch in SOUTH EAST ASIA compared to Bangkok, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia i been there but boring city.
i disagree. Ive been to BKk, how can it be boring, there are massive tourists. perhaps you didnt have money to go around ahahaha. come on. Accept it, BKk is more lively and more progressive than PH.
@@ZChannel1.2MOVERRATED AND BORING. PERIOD
Hello Dany... Welcome back 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭♥️♥️♥️💯🤩🥰😍💥
Sesama ASEAN jangan saling menjatuhkan, tetapi harus saling mendukung supaya ASEAN menjadi kawasan yang Makmur seperti Eropa❤❤🇸🇬🇲🇾🇵🇭🇹🇭🇻🇳🇧🇳🇮🇩🇰🇭🇱🇦🇲🇲
It’s not how beautiful or ugly the city is. It’s your Budget that counts. If you can’t afford it, you’re not going to suit your style.
Your accent is like the FRENCH MAN IN MATRIX MOVIE
Bgc is around 30 years old city. I work there in 2000 2 buildings standing, the pacific plaza
OMG! What a beautiful place, what a wonderful world amazing BGC maniLa ph.
You have a nice voice. Someone should hire you to host some TV events here
Little new york of the Philippines 🇵🇭 BGC, Manila
Without the criminals and homeless 😂
@@sfrealestatedealmaker6001 BGC is one of the safety place in Manila.
@rudericklaudencia1791 New York is a garbage city. Garbage crowded and lots of homeless everywhere. Buildings are old and dirty. Super expensive
The fancy business districts of Metro Manila are more sophisticated and more modern than Bangkok, KL, NYC, and Chicago.
Thank you Dani.
Lol its been awhile Danny you look more matured now time flied so fast hahah
if the subway will be completed it may help to attract more tourist
I also recommend, Aseana bay city, filinvest Ayala alabang and Ayala Cubao,
Filinvest City development is kinda slow pace when developing their area. Nothing new but they have nice areas there.
BGC is in Taguig City
Wonder if vloggers with so many subs still read their fans comments. 🤔
Try visiting Eastwood, Ortega and Alabang.
Very Americanized to the point that you think that its a city in the US less the homeless though
Manila! Keep coming back to Manila . 😊
One poging vlogger
Dany's fit for the chairman of Makati😅🎉
Oooooppppss!!! fyi, clam chowder is clam based and does not have mussels on it like you said.
Plz visit Venice Grand Canal Mall, Okada Hotel Casino Mall & EastWood Mall also so many beautiful beaches that you!
I'mt at bgc..love that place
Welcome dany my favourite 😊gwapo
NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE
Technically, most of BGC was owned by foreigners, foreign investors & enterpreneurs, so they literally control the whole BGC area and designed it to their own like in the states.
Where are you from Danny?
BGC is kinda new, there's not much going on aside from nice structures and stuff.
I personally prefer Makati because it is much more alive.
What shoes do you wear for all that walking? Soup looks great
BGC IS A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT.
BGC is awesome.
BGC is not a city. It's just a commercial business district within Taguig City.
He is with class
What more if the metro manila subway is up and running 🇵🇭
Tried purchasing LEVEL8 luggage but contrary to what you said, US isn’t free shipping. So is Asia. Only UK and Canada. 😢
Just checked the website says it’s free in US and EU as well. Not sure maybe you can check with customer support or their IG 🙏🏻
I guess you haven't yet visited the other 98% of the Philippines living in the provinces, where most people have dirt floors and nipa roofs.

Try going to Eastwood in Quezon city much better than BGC .Beverly Hills in the Philippines in Eastwood city
❤❤❤
By “nobody” you mean every content creator who comes to the Philippines. BGC is not a secret. Everyone uses it to boost their views.
Wearing black in Philippines summer is like begging for a heat stroke
