I was floored by how friendly the people in the Philippines are. Late night, outside the airport, a policeman helped me with some details and, when I said thank you to him, he literally put his hand on his heart thanking ME. A cop!
I work at a factory building buses in northern ireland and there is alot of Filipinos in my work and they're very friendly and very helpful when teaching me (I'm an apprentice)
Great to see you Back! Still PHILIPPINES hold your Most Popular Video which is 3M views how crazy and amazing it was 5 yrs back then.. anyways have Fun! Gid bless love you vlogs...
Man there are so many of us travelers in the Philippines right now! It's such a shame we can't all meet up, simsimsam, travelingsolologs, Eddie Morton, and Dany the goat! Thanks for showing us Ortigas!
Watching from NZ. The last time I visited Metro Manila was 10 years ago and there's a big change in the city with well-planned business centers in Taguig and the seaside area apart from Makati. Pasig riverfront area is also on-going for rehabilitation and building the Esplanade can attract more tourists too. I'm able to see some updates from my country just because of those travel vloggers like you. Awesome 👍
I haven’t been there since 1999 when I was 11. I visited my mom’s hometown in Argao, Cebu. I want to visit again as an adult and bring my kids there! I’m half Filipino and Haitian from Boston
After a long while from your stint in other countries, glad to have you back in the country Mr. Dany Boy! Always bring ample water to rehydrate, and deliberately make your active vlogging activities either early morning, very late pm, and onwards 'til evening, to minimize this rampaging heat wave. Stay cool, Stay safe!
Yeah , been in the Philippines last 3 days ago for 2 weeks vacation , it’s was very hot 🥵 glad I survive with yummy food and halo halo ,😂 See you again next year Philippines but not a summer time , maybe change it to month of Nov or December 😂
Hi Dany, I’m an American that spends most of my year here in Olongapo. I’m about 2 hours north of Manila in the town that was once a US naval base. I’ve been following your channel for a few years and love your travels. I will be down in Manila on Monday-Wednesday. You might be off to other islands by that time but if you will be in Manila again and would like to meet up, let me know and I’ll head down. You’re one of my inspirations to be a traveler. Stay safe and thanks for showing us the world. James. BTW, Olongapo is one of the first towns in Zambales, the place you mentioned at the market.
James, if you haven't heard about it yet, BGC is the among the safest place to stay for foreigners. Stores, malls, sports, etc. is just a few minutes in and around the compound. More than a few expats said that $1,200 a month is enough to pay bills, food, extra curricular activities, vacations, etc. BGC is to the south from Manila. (PS Olongapo is where I joined the Navy, now living in California.)
Hi Dany, what a surprise! Not expecting you'll be back in the country this year. I watched your "HK' content. It's really a joy that you did not forget to visit Philippines. At this very hot weather, make sure you always rehydrate when you go out and explore. Try Batanes as it has a very nice scenery and history. Hope you'll find time to visit other vlogs featuring BATANES for you to have an idea of its magnificent beauty. Welcome back Dany. All the best!
Dany's back! Welcome bro - glad to have you back! The mountains that you see from your window are part of the Sierra Madre range that runs through the whole eastern side of Luzon Island. Behind those is Quezon province and the Pacific ocean. Since you've been to the Visayan islands and Palawan last time you were here, you might like to explore the northern Luzon provinces, with the mountains and more beaches, or the Bicol region in the southeast end of Luzon this time. Quite interesting places. Cheers!
agree! I visited the Philippines recently and was really impressed with the new infrastructure and how clean everything is. One thing hasn't changed-the locals are still as warm and welcoming as ever.
Eventually fillipino might be equal or surpass the west .. in infrastructure ,educstion and standard of living foreigner will jave hard time taking advantage of fillipino women cause they are well off .. but the west will prevent Phillipines to develop highly
And also when fillipino guys were marrying white women in usa Watsonville around 1930 white men forced them to get divorced some got killed and fillipino men was chased out
Salted egg is exactly what it is, very salty. You don't eat it by itself. It's normally used as a condiment to compliment some other dishes that are bland to give the dish a more complex texture.
Welcome back. :) Wow, you're more pogi now ah. I hope you're still here right now Dany. You def. need to check out Tagaytay with its famous Taal Volcano in a lake. It's only 2+ hrs. from Manila. While there, go to Sky Ranch and Twin Lakes Hotel. 37:45 - Sierra Madre mountains. There are many beautiful places in that area too esp. in Rizal Province. (Tanay for example has lots of great mountain resorts too but less touristy than Tagaytay.) 41:40 - We tend to go salty because we mostly always eat dishes with rice. Wish you'd stay longer. Honestly, you don't even have to go to the Visayas. Here in Luzon alone, there are tons of places to visit. Here are just a few: South of Manila: BATANGAS - Camp Netanya Resort (Santorini-inspired); Verde Island Passage (called the 'Center of the Center of Marine Biodiversity' with the highest concentration of marine life in the world!) QUEZON PROVINCE - Villa Escudero Farm Resort (theme is old rural way of life in PH); Pahiyas Festival in Lucban (May 15) where houses are decorated with colorful rice leaves and produce. ALBAY - Mayon Volcano (Guiness World Record's most conical volcano.) CAMARINES - Caramoan Islands (shooting location of Survivor series); Calaguas Island (like Boracay but minus the coconut trees); Siruma (breathtaking lush landscape overlooking the ocean) North of Manila: BATAAN - Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar (a historic resort with 40 original Spanish-Filipino Colonial structures); Corregidor Island (see WWII coastal artilleries, fort ruins, war tunnels, etc.); Mount Samat Shrine of Valor PANGASINAN - Hundred Islands National Park (comprised of 123 islets, some with white sand beaches. One is Christ the Savior Pilgrimage Island with a 56 ft. statue of the Lord Jesus.); Patar Beach in Bolinao. ZAMBALES - do the Mt. Pinatubo Crater Lake Hike from Tarlac (must-do); Anawangin Cove and Nagsasa Cove (must-see); Lake Mapanuepe (New Zealand vibes); Capones, Potipot and Magalawa Islands with beautiful beaches. BAGUIO (our summer capital with lots of pine trees and cold weather). BANAUE RICE TERRACES, a UNESCO World Heritage Site - 8th Wonder of the World and the site they used for the Thanos ending scene in Avengers. (Note: go before the rice are harvested in April and the terraces are all green). SAGADA - Hanging Coffins of the native Igorots; meet 100+ yr. old tattoo artist Whang-Od (who's also the oldest Vogue cover model) ILOCOS - Vigan Heritage Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Pagudpud Beach (do kite surfing) BATANES - the New Zealand or Scotland of the Philippines with its spectacular views. :)
Hi Danny , welcome back. You look good and refreshing as usual. I'm excited and happy to see you again blogging around the cities and soon in the Islands. Hello Danny!!!!!Wellcome bck!!!!Good to see u again?Hope the trio will meet up again. It!s too hot because of summer season here.Cover your head with cap and carry a towel and more water to drink.Stay safe Dan ❤God bless.😊
Jeepneys in Manila show off the city's character, don't they? It’s bittersweet to hear about plans to phase them out-I picked up on that too during my recent visit to the Philippines. They really are a staple of local culture. Also, the warmth and friendliness of the locals just add so much to the experience. 🇵🇭👌
If you’re facing Marikina, San Mateo and Antipolo then the mountain range you’re seeing is the Sierra Madre mountain range. Just beyond Marikina is the Upper Marikina River Basin and beyond that is Sierra Madre, which is the catch basin of all water from typhoons coming from the pacific. If you love trekking and hiking, the Sierra Madre is a good place to explore. Antipolo used to be known for its swimming locations due to its proximity to the water reservoirs of Marikina.
