Well they technically rule a whole lot of nothing at all right now, they're even struggling to keep their own country in a single piece. They had a colonial empire of underdeveloped countries that still managed to kick them out. Nothing too glorious.
@@Toghebon Without an economy, what do you expect? They went bankrupt and the US interfered with great britain trying to subdue the rebellious countries resulting in them being freed. No money and allies saying no, all you can do is hold your hands up and say whatever.
Well I do expect people to not brag about "ruling the world" when they rule only a few islands. I mean that's common sense. It'slike these guys once went out with the prettiest girl in school, then she dumped them but they still brag about it you know.
As opposed to America, who totally don't brag constantly about things that weren't really even their achievement. Even the revolution was really won by the french.
Luckily I never said there were better forms of bragging than others. Cause I don't think so. Little did you guys brag about your scientists or landscapes or whatevz, but it seems like it always has to be about wars, slaughter, enslaving people, pillaging and so on. Well, Eleanor's ability allows her to take cities that lose loyalty immediately (As long as she's the one that provides the highest loyalty pressure) instead of having them turn to Free cities, potentially being taken by someone else. Additionally, for every great work in a city, every other city within 9 tiles gets -1 loyalty per turn, which can stack up nicely on a tiny map.

And at the same time, Flood Barriers are irrelevant, because you can't build them faster than the sea levels rise, even if you're far ahead in science and try to have not as many emissions.

I'm fairly sure the reason canada did so well is because they had no surprise wars. So they would have to fight wars on multiple fronts less often.

CIV VI has a problem. It looked like a good thing, but it's not. It's impossible for the AI to create a great empire in it.
Loyalty works, imho, the opposite of what it should be. It makes it hard to hold on conquests at first, but as influence builds up, it becomes easier to get a hold on a big empire. But the initial stage is too hard to get through, and empires collapse too quickly.
I think that they were going the right way with golden and dark ages being such an influence, but it is not enough... A big Mongolian empire will crumble with the first three cities it takes, instead of growing fast and collapsing when they enter a normal, or dark age.
I'm missing the Civ IV days when you'd get to the mid-game only to encounter a giant empire which had eaten up everyone else.

I like how Germany didn't take anything and nobody attacked them. See that's what your supposed to do, get super big and have everyone hate you, get destroyed, come back as a economic powerhouse, and become super rich. Or you can can just fast forward to the last 2 steps.
Here's an idea find a bunch of civs recreating the same or atleast simalr nations like Spain Castille Portugal Grenada Aragon Republican Spain and Nationalist Spain. Might not work but something along those lines God bless.

Canada was definitely in the best position. Can we just call them the best AI team for massive civ maps? Their tundra bonus is just that good to get rolling while everyone else struggles. Also lol on them taking Mumbai for a while on the other side of the world.

Honestly on civ 5 i play max civs on a tiny earth on Emperor difficulty. Go with Morocco for gold bonus, or Germany for less unit maintenance, or a civ with a wonder bonus. Its my favorite way to play.

Which ai only mod are you using?
i don't think that the "difficulty" levels really matter if you are doing all AI. Diety is just a stat adjustment for things against human players, no real ai improvement
old world would be great, you actually playing old world and making it a series would be even better
