Ambition didn’t retire early, man played since s1 and was considered the best midlaner in the transition between s2-s3 worlds. That’s at least 7 years of playing as a pro.

Nah, i'm not at all sold on the "Let's exclude Bengi, Bang and Wolf because they played with Faker, at least for the time being" idea.
Don't forget that Bang and Wolf constantly went to lane against the likes of Uzi in their prime and still went toe to toe. If they were even skill-wise to one of the more prominents candidates and then you add that they actually won things (Bunch of LCKs, MSI (2 for Bang and Wolf and 1 for Bengi) and Worlds (3 for Bengi and 2 for Bang and Wolf)) they should also be considered prime candidates to join the HoL.
I think Riot could induct both Bang & Wolf as bot duo on hall of legends, where they can make skin of botlane duo like xayah & rakan
Nah Bang and Wolf got fucked so hard by Uzi in 2017, that Galio incident saved their ass. They couldnt even beat PraY and GorillA in 2016-2017
They are great players, and I think the video also acknowledges that. I think the point was that they may be inducted, but probably not yet, so soon after Faker was inducted so that other regions/teams/achievements/etc. can be represented/honored.

Yeah, I'm surprised that Ruler isn't on this list. He was the 2017 Worlds Finals MVP, got a Gold Medal in the 2022 Asian Games, and was pretty much on track for a Golden Road in 2023 until T1 defeated JDG in the semifinals of Worlds.

I hope Riot is also going to consider adding personalities to the Hall of Legends that helped shape the e-Sport we so much admire. Like Sjokz being a voice for the players, making them feel comfortable in interviews, especially in the early days when players had only skill but had 0 charisma because they were used to gaming in their moms basement only

With time, I’d say Keria will likely become a part of this if he continues to be the way he is.
He is a literal Support God and basically plays ahead and defines support metas long before everyone else.

Keria is undoubtedly one of the greatest supports of all time. This is indisputable, anybody who is good at the game or even has the eye for it knows this. ON is good, but he's not the topic here. Keria is. Keria is an S tier support and has been throughout pretty much all of his tenure so far.

-PraY and GorrilA, the actual people with the greatest What If's ever even more than Khan and innovators when it came to botlane.
-Smeb and Marin, the Gold Standard of Toplaners. The most flexible toplaners that can play any champions despite being on or off meta.(legit these guys play carries on tank meta and tanks on the infamous Juggernaut meta)
Marin mainly played renek, rumble, gnar and maokai. Not off meta at all in season 5. Smeb, i agree.

@@mkyt206 I feel like Marin is a victim of if it ain't broke, don't fix it. he picks whatever Kkoma and Wolf thinks what's best for the comp which is basically Rumble, Gnar and Maokai and yes Renekton. I've known Marin as a scary Fiora and GP in SoloQ. we all know SKT can play different champions but held back by probably picking meta and executing their plan perfectly. your point still stands but if the meta was anything but that I feel like Marin would still pick whatever Kkoma and Wolf thinks is best and would play them to a tee and perfectly.
@@skrattaoppar9753 No. If you check other seasons you will see he defaults to these 3 and maybe a renekton. He mains those 3 at professional level. It's not SKT keeping him from picking other champs, it's SKT enabling him to pick those champs.

Very solid list of candidates!
An honourable mention should also be for all of SSW in 2014 with Looper, Dandy, Pawn, Imp and Mata. Their macro and mechanical prowess made people have to find ways to improve and find advantages early, as well as learning how to force mistakes onto other teams. TSM and RNG had to try and find ways to beat SSW but only managed to get one win, while SSW won every other game during worlds. Even their sister team couldnt stand in their way as they 3-0'd them in a fast series.
Also for Hall of Legends, i would put Dopa or Apdo for being such a solo queue god and even getting the thousand year ban.
Bang and Wolf on their prime were deadly.
Dang people do forget how great MaRin was with SKT way back in 2015.

I have one question. Riot dropped a video called The Numbers showing his accomplishements. What are the future inductees gonna feel when they drop their number videos? How long will they be? 30 secs? For example, Chovy. I am a T1 fanatic, and care only for Faker, and hate that GenG is always beating us, but I do respect and admire Chovy for his insane skill, but his lack of international titles (just 1 MSI) doesn't reflect his actual talent

Some of these deserves to be in LoL Hall of Fame far more than Bjergsen, Doublelift, Maple or even Karsa
The top 10 greatest LoL players in no particular order (besides Faker) are:
1. Faker
2. Deft
3. Uzi
4. Rookie
5. TheShy
6. Xiaohu
7. Khan
8. Canyon
9. Bengi (he did way too damn much to not be listed at least in the top 15)
10. Ruler
Sadly you missed out a lot of people, in 2020 and 2021 worlds the number 1 player in the world was showmaker, but you didn't even include him.
At 2019 and 2022 DoinB was one of the best in conversation, Viper and Ruler are also good. But ye this was your list, not everyones. Just specify it that this was your list and dont generalize it.
I would put showmaker over chovy in terms of international outcome anyday more so over any of those you had mentioned. But chovy deserves the mention so is Showmaker. You just ranked them by popularity, not by skill.
Its crazy you can put doublelift and rekkles but not the best players.

While i agree that Showmaker and Doinb both are insane players once in their career, 2019 doinb, 2020-2021 showmaker. This begs the question, is that enough? Ofc NA is trash, but lets take like Rekkles or Caps into this, these players have been on the top since the beginning of the game, multiple years, (Rekkles now fell of), but like Caps for example has done 100x more for league that doinb and Showmaker combined for example (and i know Caps is little unfair because he 100% should be in Hall of Legends). My point is, Hall of Legends isnt a Calculator on "how many medals you have", its recognition on "how much have you done for the league in general", how long have you been on top?, how high was your peak etc etc. You starting to get my point and everyone who knows how hall of fame or "legends" work? For example, Doinb was fcking insane in 2019, and then what? before that what 2018 was he insane? 2020 was he insane? like do you think these things? Like Caps sparked western hope in 2018 and 2019 basically alone, that "west can actually win", Caps is still great and competing with the best in the world after all this time. Ofc nothing comes even close to Faker, and im super happy that Chovy finally won his first international title. This guys list in the video is super accurate and good, only thing i would legit add is Ruler, where is Ruler? Doinb and Showmaker just aint it man even tho they both were in their peak legit top class. (sry for long reply)

If we tabulate every single position mentioned in this current video to be considered:

This means that every role has around 5 players mentioned when including honorable mentions aside from support and coach. I do think Ruler probably should be inducted, but I can also see why he wasn't mentioned compared to the other legacy players, namely the fellow adc Deft and fellow lpl hero xiaohu (there is only one person per role mentioned in the Legacy section). I can also see why he wasn't mentioned compared to the other honorable mentions that seemed to highlight more of the less decorated regions.
Still, upon reflection, there *is* a space just before the honorable mentions category where ruler could have been, but I guess a line had to be drawn somewhere, and Ruler was that line (haha unintentional ruler / line / "measuring" skill joke)
Personally, if I were to name some supports or coaches, I'd mention like Mata or Meiko, and then Keria and the JinAir coach as honorable mentions. Kkoma is the definite top choice for coach, and it makes sense that Beryl with his three worlds wins is mentioned before Mata.
I still think Mata could have been put in a "changing meta" section (that actually didn't end up becoming an explicit section but sorta kinda underlying everything) but there was a whole section about how beryl changed the meta. In this way, I feel like Mata and Ruler are in a similar vein in that yes, they could be included. Yes, they have merit and ways to incorporate them, but I think it's also fine that they weren't mentioned in this video compared to the others we did get due to time constraints.

I nominate impact, I know it's sounds stupid but impact had many trophy though, He win many LCS finals,1 MSI, 1 world trophy and I believe that he won also a lck trophy. Just add his international tournament appearances.

Idk i feel like this video focused on all the wrong things and missed many actually impactful players, not anyone who has a decent career should be put into this list and this video was full of those players and there are much more players like that if you really want to search for them(369, scout, meiko, jackeylove, crisp, ON, Xun, Yagao, are we really going to add 30 players just because of their decent careers? Thats just dumb and defeats the purpose of the hall of legends), this video missed the whole point of "hall of legends", putting players like rekkles, doublelift, bjergsen, maple next to Faker, Mata, Deft, Caps is just completely disrespectful to the work they have brought into league as a whole
TheShy, Deft and Chovy could easily be added in Hall of Legends

DoubleLift is a big deal actually, lots of gamers in NA, and even EU, LCK LPL are inspired to play and go pro because of him. WAYY back in season 1, he was one of the most well-known pros since he was very good in his years (and the trashtalks ofcourse). Man literally inspired a generation of pro-players and should be given credits bc of that.
Diamondprox with M5/Gambit defined the concepts of jungling, invading and lane prio as we know them today after so many years, too bad they are often ignored in this type of videos.

TL and CLG are the only 2 teams to make finals at an international event. with the TL being more significant cause it was vs iG over than CLG getting lucky that SKT chose RNG over FW.
I understand only inducing players that don't play professionally anymore ( other than streaming ect) but Faker is definitely an exception to the rule just because of how much of an impact he has. If anyone should be first it should be him. Even if he is still playing it just makes sense

Crazy that you dont mention Bengi up there, but as an after thought. That skt team wouldnt be what it was without him, no matter how good faker is. His whole playstyle revolved around Faker, and winning.

Nemesis is the biggest wash ever. Dude couldn't handle it and had to go to stream full time. Talks like those athletes like " Yeah I could have been pro and won the championship but I injured my leg." I think it's hilarious you even mention him or IWillDominate. These are not has beens, they never were. It's to bad none of the other Korean players get to skip military service too. I'm sure it would help them out a lot too. They are figuring it out though and moving to other countries, dropping out of school, or having "injuries" from gaming.

I love this video but there has to be a bit more respect on players not from LCK or LPL, just because international success is not high does not mean they shouldn't be in the hall.
